I will say that I had gotten the computer back and then had it break again within a matter of days, and Rick was great about re-replacing the broken part where a lot of other places might have easily just said "too bad." I called the shop many times sometimes with an answer and sometimes with no answer. It also cost an additional $20 for a part that was needed(apparently it was broken when trying to make the original screen repair, yeah okay sure it wasnt damaged in the repair process and why is that cost falling on me) and when I picked up the computer the trim around the screen wasnt even attached properly. Thanks. Im also missing the rubber feet on the bottom of my laptop to keep it from sliding around which shouldnt have even been touched because it has nothing to do with the screen. On top of all that now I cant even log into my microsoft account. I was not made aware I should back up my files and now I have to reset my entire computer and lose everything. I stated that the photos were of a wedding and it was very important that they be recovered. The estimate I was given was $600 and I truly believe it was because they knew how important the photos were as other reviews have mentioned. I was able to talk them down to $350 and had no choice but to pay it, knowing it would be a simple recovery and that I was being charged twice as much as the original price I was told it would be if it was on the easier side of things. When I got the photos back the image quality had been affected and the file type had changed from RAW to JPG. As a photographer that needs RAW images to effectively edit the photos I brought the issue to their attention and they said that's all they could do. So not only did I over pay but they never mentioned I wouldn't be getting back the actual files that I lost in their true form. I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone and will not be giving them my business in the future.

When I finally got the chintzy plastic external hard drive with my recovered data on it, I found that SOME of my data was recovered. They charge $100 for the drive (you can get much better small, external drives in a metal protective case from Newegg.com (of the same size) for less than $60). Mark told me it was a 2GB drive. It is a 1GB drive. Mark is the reason for the low score. I asked for my flash drive back. It's been 12 days/2 weeks since I asked for it. No word at all from the company despite Mark's promise of a couple days. (I also asked for an estimate before the work was started. Mark said there was no way to do that. He kept saying that it would be at least $400. It sure was "at least $400". My flash drive is 128MB. File Savers charged $900 for this. I feel cheated. I was cheated. I can't evaluate the company properly because I have no reason to trust them. Their frontman is unreliable and lied to me.
