The whole project ran extremely smooth, everything was well coordinated, from delivering the material to the removal of the dirt and there were a lot of dirt. As for specifics, the base was to the thickest as promised (in some spots much more than promised) and packed as hard as a rock. They used only the pavers that were in good quality and toss any that had defects. They don't cut corners; they even used the most expensive polymeric sand to fill in the full gap. The team cleaned up really well, picked up all the small pieces and return everything to its original spots. For those with water problems in their backyard, you will not find a better team out there in leveling. Vinny from Scott's team is a master leveler. They are not the type that just level as you go. They came in with laser levelers to make sure the pitch is perfect. My property has one of the worst water issues because my backyard is pitched toward the house and one side is higher than the other. For those that are more technical, it was a very complex leveling situation that requires multiple variations of pitch to get the water flowing just right. I truly believe an expert leveler could have done this job. Scott took great care of me from the start to end. Scott's team turned my Jungle backyard into an odyssey. I would have to say working with Scott is like working with an old-school craftsman; honest, reliable and quality. This is extremely rare these days. I'm tremendously glad I found Genstar and not one of those magazine businesses. I highly recommendation Genstar. I'm 100% sure you will find them as amazing as I have. Scott stopped by a few days ago to give me a price quote. He was extremely professional and patience. He spent the time explaining the process and also discussing options. Not like other contractors who wants you to fit into what they need. Scott makes sure he meets your expectations. I'm very technical so listening to him review the process allows me to know that he is doing all the right stuff for me. Many contractors couldn't even tell you how many inches of under gravel. I was so comfortable with him I signed the contact the next day and he delivered the pavers in 24 hours. Working with him feels like working with people in the old days, trust, value and quality. Everything about Genstar Masonry is first class. You can depend upon Scott and his crew to work with pride and do an excellent job! And everyone is so pleasant, too! I was beginning to take on water in my basement and I wasn't sure how to solve my water problem. Genstar came up with a drainage system that takes the water away from my house into a storage tank located under the grass. They waterproofed the outside and inside of my house. My laundry room which used to look quite dingy has been given a new life. The walls and floor look great. The large driveway outside was paved with concrete and bordered with pavers. It just rained so don't look at the leaves and water stains, they did a great job with the patio they did an excellent job with the negative grade to slope the water away from the house, really like this style of pavers from Cambridge. Scott, Vinny and their team ran into some Road bumps from the ground, but were quickly able to find ways to fix the horrible slope and grade in my backyard and the side of the garage. I got two other quotes that were higher so I was very happy with the price. Definitely recommend these guys. Scott was very professional and answered all of my questions and needs, he came by multiple times throughout the whole process and even picked out the papers with us in person at a Mason yard.
