No phone calls, "hey, we're running late", "we'll need to reschedule, something came up" - all that is needed is the smallest tiniest level of human decency and common courtesy. We've been in contact with Chris several times to explain problems after they installed a new sidewalk. Several areas were chipped. They added cement that was a different color. We were told the color would lighten in a short time. The areas repaired have not lightened. They removed bushes which was not approved. They broke the existing walking stones that now look terrible and raised from the ground to cause injury. I called several times for repair that is covered under the one-year warranty, but he was nasty and refused to send someone to repair the problems. Hired Gold Coast to do a paver walkway. They laid down chipped & cracked bricks and didn't cherry pick the good bricks and discard the bad ones. Then they blamed it on the type of pavers. Also bricks were not flush or even with each other. Project manager ignored my questions and requests halfway through the project. These are not craftsman. Their crew are non-English speaking hacks! I had moved into my place in Mineola, Long island a few months back and I had hired Gold Coast Pavers a couple of weeks ago to remove my deck and put pavers in. Let me tell you it was the best decision ever. Process: I had interviewed 6 vendors in total and finally decided on Gold Coast b/c of their reviews, looking them up and meeting with Mike for my quote. He showed up promptly and if he was late he called to let me know. Mike was able to explained the process to me and the quote he gave me was reasonable. We went through the process, materials and number of people on team that will be working on my project. I made a second appointment to have them show me some of the work they did. Chris Stasi met me at the first location and showed me a few houses where they did work on the yard, driveway and front walkway. We discussed colors and combinations I would be doing for my backyard. Chris provided his recommendations and it worked out great. At first, I was torn between them and another company my neighbor recommended but I felt comfortable enough to go with them after looking them up and seeing their work. I called Chris back for the 3rd time to sign the contract, put the deposit down and schedule the start date. He was patient with me and answered my questions and concerns. Installation: On the day of the crew of 5 promptly arrived on time around 8:30AM. I met their project managers Darwin, Louie and Mike Polo who were the point people for the project. Chris came by to make sure everything was okay in the morning and Mike was there in the afternoon. They were able to address my concerns, tell me what they were doing each stage. The crew worked fast and efficiently, the were able to breakdown the deck and remove all the debris and excess dirt within the first half of the day. The only hiccup was with my gas grill (good thing my plumber was able to fit me in and come help me remove my BBQ grill and disconnect it from the gas line - i should have called them first to remove it) it was dangerously propped up on my gas line after they removed the deck. By the end of the day the dirt was excavated and concrete sand was put in they measured out the pitch to make sure no water would be collecting and was ready for the pavers! Louie was able to provide some insight on how to do the edges of the pavers where the fence is and how the water would run off and be directed out. They were done with everything by the end of the second day cleaned up and swept everything like they were never there. I was very surprised it was done so diligently, fast and efficiently. To test out how the pitch was a couple of days after the pavers were done we had a huge rain shower and no water collected in my backyard and on top of that ALOT less bugs!!!! On top of that when putting up my fence we changed our mind where the gate was and there ended up being an extra hole drilled in one of the paver and Mike told us he can change the paver out for us. He came back a week later and got that done in an hour. So my backyard looks great!! I was very happy with the results of my backyard. read more

Me and my wife have lived in Massapequa for 7 years. Over the last few years we have done a complete renovation of the interior of our home and this year we were finally able to save up and focus on the exterior of our home. We had 5 companies come in before Chris Stasi from Gold Coast pavers came for a free estimate. He was able to give us a number within hours. (Well within our budget) He provided a 3D drawing of our home (front and back) as well as a top view with landscaping drawn in. We signed a contract that day. He was able to give us everything that we wanted and more. When certain issues came up such as water run off from the gutters (dry well) Chris and his crew were able to be very fair with adding that into the final price. The first day(Saturday), a demo crew came in a put in a full day of work. When Monday came around, the crew was here a 745am ready to work. The organization and process was truly a pleasure to watch. They started in the back and worked there way into the front. They were done within a week. Every day they took a half hour to clean up by hosing down the Perimeter of the house and they took care of the trash each day. Gold Coast also did a fantastic job coordinating with the other trades ( electrical, irrigation, and landscaping) Gold Coast Pavers was by far the most impressive contractor to work on home in the last 7 years. Chris and his team, set up a walkway, redid my front porch, my driveway as well as replacing my sidewalk and being a corner property, that was a big job. From the design phase for the paths and porch through the last day of the project when they laid down sod in my front yard to complete the look, I was wowed! They showed up early and worked all day every day, until the job was done. Any minor problem was addressed and resolved. The end product? IMO spectacular. They were not the lowest bid (nor the highest) when we were looking for someone to do this.
