Server guy was chill. The food is served in a paper bowl, unlike the nice bowls you see in their pics. Tl;dr: if you're curious, don't waste your time, bafang is open 5min away Preface: I KNOW it's mall food, but for a restaurant that continuously pops up as #1 on Yelp whenever I search for food around the northridge/chatsworth area, I'm going to treat it as if it were a #1 spot. Beef noodle soup: to be very blunt, this was quite flavorless. The beef was dry as bones and looked like it was sliced with a mandoline. The noodles seemed undercooked and it felt like I was eating al dente spaghetti noodles. I got a medium spice level which didn't even seem that spicy, just a lot of cough inducing chili oil with no burn. Pan fried dumplings were ok. It honestly tasted like it was deep fried and not pan fried. Unsweetened black tea: hands down the best of the 3 things in the combo, which is quite telling. Honestly you get a decent amount of food for $15. But to constantly take the top 5 for recommended on Yelp in this area and waste my time to even look at it, it definitely doesn't belong remotely close to top 10.

The service was friendly and the wait was reasonable. Its located in the mall which means that you don't really get much of a vibe from this place alone but of everything surrounding. The soup was not spicy imo, I have a high tolerance, but it did have a good flavor. The noodles were thick and soft but they lacked a bit of flavor. The beef was soft and flavorful with the smaller bits of beef, which resembled ground beef, were very tasty. The soup was good overall but felt a bit too oily. The dumplings had a light crunchy exterior and the inside was juicy but it felt just a bit too mushy for me. Overall a good place and I would return to try something else.

We got chicken wings, scallion pancake, pork and shrimp dumplings, and pork soup dumplings. The chicken wings had a mountain of fried garlic on top of them. The pork and shrimp dumplings were our favorite, filled with ground pork, and whole pieces of shrimp, served with an awesome sauce that brought everything together. The soup dumplings were not that great. They looked like they were steamed a bit too long, and the soup had leaked through. Would not get these again.

I also thought that her staff was nice and attentive. 5/5 Price: I feel that the food is well priced and competitive. The serving portions meet my expectations and of course I will always say I want more, but that is unrealistic. 4.5/5 Food: Tonkatsu Chicken Curry Rice: Absolutely the dish I miss from Japan and this has that comforting dish vibe I used to have at home or in Japan. My all time favorite is definitely the Spicy Chicken but I will eat anything here. The breading on the chicken is so light, yet crispy, yet covered in sauce...I'm not sure how they accomplish that. Everything has always been cooked to perfection, seasoned beautifully, plated nicely, and fresh. Service is always very friendly (sometimes a hair slow but only because there's usually only one server and the place is packed). Food comes out fairly quickly once you order and it's super fun to be able to watch them cook due to the giant glass wall in the kitchen. Place is always clean, has great lighting (you can actually see your plates), and the lot in back makes for fairly easy parking. We've been here twice close to closing and to watch them clean makes me know they take sanitation VERY seriously.

It honestly reminded me of the quality and depth of flavor you'd find in the SGV -- which says a lot. The egg rolls may be small, but don't let that fool you -- they're packed with flavor and perfectly crispy. Easily some of the best Vietnamese egg rolls I've had in the SFV so far. I also noticed they have a solid selection of com tam on the menu, so I'll definitely be back to explore more. This is officially my go-to spot whenever I'm craving pho or Vietnamese food.

Bale Valley never has, and that's exactly why I keep coming back. Every visit, I order the Chicken Special. It's also one of the very few meals that I always finish. No leftovers. Ever. By the end, all that's left is my little pile of Cornish hen bones, which is probably the highest compliment I can give a meal. Thank you for staying consistently amazing all these years. It's still good creamy and comforting, but if you're craving real halo-halo, go to Pinoy's instead. My husband got the Thai iced tea. This spot has built a reputation as a great alternative to some of the larger dim sum chains, so we were excited to finally check it out. We arrived right when they opened, grabbed a cozy table by the kitchen, and immediately noticed how welcoming the staff was. Service was genuinely outstanding! Everyone was friendly, attentive, and the dishes came out at a relaxed pace without ever feeling rushed. Five stars for the hospitality alone. Of course, we ordered a little feast to share: Dan Dan Noodles - My friend's favorite dish of the meal! We ordered them without meat, and they were rich, creamy, and coated in a delicious peanut sauce. I liked them but next time I'd opt to get them with meat to give them a little more flavor. 3.5/5. Pork & Shrimp Soup Dumplings - Exactly what we were craving. Each dumpling was juicy with a generous amount of filling, and once dipped in the vinegar soy sauce with fresh ginger and a little chili oil... absolute perfection. 4.5/5. Pork Chop Fried Rice - My personal favorite. The pork chop was crispy, flavorful, and cooked beautifully, while the classic egg fried rice underneath was pure comfort food. Simple, satisfying, and something I'd happily order again. 5/5. If you're spending the day in the Valley or find yourself around Woodland Hills, Dan Modern Chinese is definitely worth adding to your list. This isn't a cheap hole in the wall spot, so you'll pay a little more but everything was tasty and a great portion size for 2-3 people sharing. Overall, it was a wonderful lunch, and I'd happily come back the next time I'm craving dumplings.

The dumpling wrapper is thin and perfectly folded. The soup inside is delicious and piping hot. I'd say a top competitor to Din Tai Fung. The other dishes were a bit too greasy for my liking. If I had to recommend a dish, the Vegetable Fried Rice was a good choice. It felt light and not as greasy as the other dishes we ordered. The scallion pancake and string beans were both excellent choices. The scallion pancake was light and flaky. The string beans were tender and nicely seasoned. The service was prompt. They were able to accommodate 18 of us and delivered all of the food and drinks without delay. My coworker liked the Jasmine Milk Tea but would not recommend the boba. The matcha latte should also be skipped. I would come back for the Xiao Long Bao and String Beans.

The staff member at the time thew the menu down at the table after seating me down - a classic experience (heh). I ordered a bun bo xao, and it came out. Overall, the dish was stacked with noodles but fairly plain. An aerial view photo doesn't do it justice, as this bowl was massive. The beef itself was flavored but wasn't too tasty, nothing the fish sauce helped with either. After the meal, I also enjoyed a cup of Vietnamese Iced Coffee, and this stuff was STRONG. I'm no stranger to this drink, but the coffee itself was fairly bitter and concentrated - more than normal. The condensed milk? Almost felt like a quarter can, too! Even after diluting it (through their ice) with half water, it was still too sweet and bitter - do not recommend. Paying was fairly easy, but it was through Zelle or cash - awkward! We stopped by on a Tuesday for lunch, and nostalgia definitely did not disappoint. The restaurant is spacious with plenty of seating, making it a comfortable spot to enjoy a meal. The Jjolmyeon has always been our all-time favorite from the LA location, so ordering it was a no-brainer. And wow... it somehow tasted even better here! We also ordered the Yuk Kalguksu (육칼국수) and Gun Mandu (군만두), and everything hit the spot. The Yuk Kalguksu came with such a generous portion that I happily finished the noodles, enjoyed some of the rich, spicy broth, and still had enough soup and beef to box up for another meal. Talk about a bonus dinner! The mandu was perfectly crispy and paired so well with the refreshing, chewy jjolmyeon. For us, a restaurant earns a spot in our regular rotation only if it checks three boxes: delicious food, friendly service, and cleanliness. Hodori easily checks all three. In fact, I came back after work the very same day to pick up dinner for the family (because one visit clearly wasn't enough ). We ordered Galbi Ugeoji Haejangguk (갈비 우거지 해장국), Galbitang (갈비탕), Tteokbokki (떡볶이), Samgyetang (삼계탕), and Yukgaejang (육개장). I placed the order before leaving work, and by the time I arrived about 15 minutes later, everything was neatly packed and ready to go. As a working mom, finding a restaurant that serves delicious food, offers great service, and makes takeout this effortless feels like striking gold. It saves me time in the kitchen while keeping everyone's tummies full and happy. Safe to say, Hodori has officially earned a permanent spot on our takeout list.

Terrible customer service. I will never return!…read more I came to Hodori 365 with my two young children, ages 4 and 8, and was extremely disappointed by how we were treated. I politely asked the younger employee if we could order regular meals to eat at the restaurant and kids' meals to go. She said no, which was completely fine. I was simply asking a question. Then another employee came over and loudly said, "NO TAKE OUT!" directly to my face. I was shocked by her tone and how unnecessarily rude the interaction became. I immediately decided to leave and handed back the menus. As we were leaving, I noticed the same employee pointing at my children and gesturing for them to move away from the table because they had been moving the utensils around while waiting. My children are only 4 and 8 years old. They weren't damaging anything, and I would have gladly cleaned up after them. I found the way she treated them completely unacceptable. This was not my first negative experience here. During a previous visit, I witnessed the same employee and another staff member giving my friends dirty looks and an unpleasant attitude over their tip, even though they had already left 18%. With a single meal and rice costing around $35, I would expect customers to be treated with basic courtesy and respect. I don't mind paying for good food, but I refuse to spend my money at a restaurant where my family is made to feel so unwelcome. There are plenty of other Korean restaurants in Los Angeles where I would rather spend my money. Never again.
