RIP GG. As a long time fan of GG, first enjoying them at the location near Composite Dr in Dallas way back in the early 2000s, the 2023 version is a tremendous disappointment. I'll start by saying the biggest disappointment is the things they have taken away. I always look forward to ordering their edamame appetizer, building my custom bowl with big thick slices of those fresh jalapenos and finishing it off with a stainless steel sauce bowl full of their peanut curry sauce, then grabbing a sauce bowl for peanuts and those little crunchy, thin fried noodles. All of those are gone. No more tasty edamame while my bowl is cooked. The diced jalapenos are so boring, so no real heat. In fact, I doubt they are fresh any longer. The peanut curry sauce is gone, as are the stainless sauce bowls, replaced by black plastic containers half the size. And, the finishing blow for me, the crunchy noodles and peanuts are no more. This is the best of the locations near me, with the one off Hwy 67 being the absolute worst. Even the newest one off the PGB tollway in Grand Prairie has been hit or miss the times I have been there. My 4-star rating is indicative of the service we received. Our waitress, Anastasia, was great, even though the lack of my favorite items really was a disappointment. I don't foresee myself going back, the loss of my favorite items, along with their new price point doesn't make me crave GG like I have in the past. A former raving fan. read more

I came here for take out and waited forever for my food order. I tried to place the order online so that it would be ready before I got there, but the website wouldn't let me place the order as online orders were disabled for some reason. The guy who took my order was very nice and helpful, so it went off to a good start. As I was waiting, the restaurant wasn't even busy and I had not seen any to-go orders being put out. I would see an order randomly come out as well, but very sporadically. It was as if they were only doing one order at a time. There was a girl working there in glasses that was all over the place, clearly flustered. She got mad about some customers that were rude to her so she came to the side to rant about it, but all in front of me and other customers. I understand when people are rude, but don't make a tantrum about it in front of everyone else. The whole time, I never got any update on my food until like 2 min before it was done. No estimate for how long it would take either. My food took over 30 min to be ready. I'm not coming here again. read more

Dear Genghis Grill Customer Relations, I am writing to express my disappointment with the service I received at your ( 4000 Five Points Blvd, Arlington, TX 76018) restaurant. On my recent visit, I ordered fried rice, which was cooked twice but still lacked seasoning and flavor. When I raised my concern, the General Manager (Brian Miranda) responded in a dismissive and unprofessional manner, which made the situation even more unpleasant. I'm quite because i was Afro American. We're packing my Leftover Up & he came to the table and said you can't take with you & he Threw it away, in a very mean tone. As a paying customer, I expect food that meets basic quality standards and respectful service when issues arise. Unfortunately, this experience fell short on both counts. This restaurant was absolutely terrible, first of all, the servers were extremely rude. When I sat in the booth it felt like I was sinking and I saw the cracks in the booth. When I went to go use the bathroom is smelled absolutely horrendous. I told the manager but he was too busy on his laptop to care about it. When I looked into the kitchen it was nasty. New to the area from Newport Beach in California. Bf moved her and I come in for 2 weeks monthly; we are always looking to check out new places to eat. This place is top notch. Immediately greeted and sat us. The staff is always cleaning and it's new, everything look fresh and vibrant! We were at another Mongolian Asian place last month / all you can eat and it was filthy disgusting - they had some red light over the meat and most are frozen! - major red flag! We are in the medical field - Must be the all you can eat offer at the other place. Anyways we enjoyed our dining experience HERE at Genghis! The bowl to pack up is pretty small but it was fun to see how much one can compact in there.. The regular size was more than enough to not be a glutton. They serve beer and cocktails too. We will be back. We like our guy server and after we picked our meat a lady came right after to clean the area.. lWe also saw another lady wiping the walls of the cooking area. We pay attention. I love the concept of Genghis Grill (GG). It is one of my favorite chains. However, their (covid driven) forced change of filling-your-bowl-for-you, rather than you creating it yourself, has produced congestion, causing major slow downs. Correct staffing is the fix. It's still a great place, whether your a carnivore or want vegies for food, though expensive! All GG are not created equal. We came in at 1:30PM... saw up to 7 GG workers (out at one time). About 25% of the social distance tables were occupied, most customers were already eating. After we were seated, selected our bowl size and ordered drinks... we got in line, only to find just 1 GG person filling bowls. If that wasn't bad enough, when it was our turn, she stopped to restock most of the choices-on-the-line... 5+ minute wait. When we returned to the table, no drinks (really?). We finally got our drinks, but they went empty, having to get up, to request refills. I order 2 eggs with my bowl (an additional charge), when the bowl, came, no eggs! I had to chase down the server and request them. I was half done with my bowl, before I got my eggs. We were there on the weekend, and their 'lunch' discount was not available. Their prices (in my opinion) are high for stir-fry type of dining. The lunch discount makes the price somewhat tolerable, when the service is just okay... today it was not. You can always tell "how well" run a restaurant is, by; If and how many times a manager checks on you. Not only did a manager not check on us, the wait person was rarely seen, having to be chased down to get service. So far, I found the Frisco GG to be the best, followed by the Addison GG... we will likely skip this one, when in this area. read more

I'm so frustrated with Genghis Grill. They charge a dollar for eggs now, they tell you to scan your receipt in the app, but that doesn't work. The restaurant staff don't have a clue how to help you with the app to get credit toward rewards. Where are the crunchy condiments?! Bo nuts, chow mein noodles or other crunchy stuff. I have to admit this particular restaurant was cleaner than some other Genghis restaurants I have been to, but I'm really dissatisfied with changes genghis has made to the menu, pricing, the app, the employees and setup at the restaurants. I came in today with only a short window to get my food and eat. The waiter brought me the food. ( found out it was for a man that also received the wrong food and walked out). The waiter returned saying that the kitchen screwed up and that they needed me to go back through the line. Food has been ok but the service is abysmal. The last couple of times they have way overcooked the the bowls which makes the experience not so good. This was one of my very favorite places, however since 2020 the service has gone down hill and the food has gone down as well with them them charging more for it.
