From beginning to end, the project went smoothly and we were thoroughly impressed with the final product! Every person that we worked with from Genesis (from the sales lead/project designer, secretary, project manager to the workers themselves) were professional in how they interacted with us as well as how they executed their job duties on our project. Even when we had an issue, they were empathetic, understanding and followed through to resolve it quickly. We have only great things to say about this company. If you are looking for paver work at your house/business, this is definitely the company to go with! read more

Jeff shows up to do our consult. His mask wasn't on properly. My husband and I, trying to keep our distance from the guy, were surprised by his persistent questions around our budget and if we "have money saved up" for this. We came to realize, he seemed concerned that a young couple wouldn't have the funds for the project. I'd been asking around the designs I wanted, and he was reluctant to show me anything over the basic options. He kept mentioning they have a minimum $ amount per project or he won't even send his guys out, and I kept responding that was not a concern for us, though he seemed unconvinced. After probing around how much we have in our savings accounts several times, he then asks what we do for work to "get a house like this." Did our parents buy it for us? Once I mention I work in big pharma, and my husband mentions he's in IT, the man suddenly seems relaxed and shows us pricier paver and wall options. The entire experience definitely turned us away from this company. I can't speak to their work because we decided against them after the ridiculous consult we received. We're moving forward with a different company for this project, and look forward to sharing our (thus far, pleasant!) experience with them. read more

So, I agree with the other yelps, and that's how I found this company to transform my back yard/patio with pavers. Jon my sales guy gave me suggestions as to pattern/design and colors. The worker bees, Jose and boys showed up on time, had to get the cracked up concrete out and they installed the pavers in 2 1/4 days, they were fantastic and Jose and crew ensured my satisfaction. The cost was a little more than I thought it would be but it was well worth it!! I would definitely recommend this company to help transform your yard or driveway. read more

Amazing: In one day the team of five Genesis workers completed a major root extraction and driveway repair effort. This included removing driveway pavers all the way to the sidewalk, removed multiple large tree roots that were under the pavers, repaired and prepared driveway surface including base materials and compaction for reinstallation of pavers, poured cement as needed along edges, reinstalled pavers and added new ones as necessary, finished and power washed the top driveway surface as well as the entire work area. Driveway looks great!!! Rubin who did the estimating and who the contract was signed with promised to have a team at the house the next day between 7:30 & 8:00 AM. At promptly 7:45 AM, true to Rubin's word, the team arrived. In dealing with Rubin he was always a man of his word. I highly recommend Genesis Stoneworks. read more

I am currently in the market for some pavers and have received multiple quotes. The companies I called were highly recommended on Yelp however when the contractors showed up (if that) their approach was mediocre. I had set up an appointment with Genesis and was thinking about cancelling it as I was discouraged to find the right guys to work with. I own a business in the construction industry and knew the type of person I wanted to work with. I didn't think I could find it after the prior appointments I had set. Ultimately I didn't cancel my appointment with Genesis and Chad not only showed up promptly but he was early. He asked me what I was looking for and walked me through the project step by step. He was very personable and respectful to my current needs and financial budget and was able to give me a quote accordingly. He also went out of his way and gave me recommendations on other projects and was very knowledgeable in his line of work. I am glad that I gave Genesis the opportunity as I know they will do a great job. read more

There are two major things to consider when using a service. The quality of the work done, and the professionalism of the workers. While our yard has become a lot nicer looking, the ordeals we faced working with Genesis Stonework makes us strongly advise you not to work with them. The problem we faced was the complete lack of professionalism of our contractor Randy. To start off, he never properly coordinated with the workers. They were supposed to finish our yard within 2-3 weeks, but in the end it took much longer. This was due to Randy not getting enough materials for our yard, so we had to wait a week for the materials to finally arrive. On top of this, when we tried to reach out to Randy about the project, he lashed out in a harsh manner telling us "I don't have the authority to tell you when your materials are showing up." After this, he never bothered to show up at the site, not even when it was finally finished. We would not recommend Genesis Stonework, but if you can deal with a lack of professionalism and getting your work delayed due to an error made by the contractors, then be our guest. read more

I just saw Roger's comment. I am going to comment about the facts and truth. I have no ill will towards this company. Just my experience with them. Roger's comments are half true. Let me dissect. He said Chad called the customer and left a message. The truth is he called me ONLY AFTER I patiently waited for 30 minutes and repeatedly called their customer service line. Their customer service apologized and reached out to Chad to contact me. My frustration was not in the fact to what Roger is commenting on, it was simply they missed the appointment. Roger, please accept and learn from your mistake instead blaming others. Like I said, first impression matters and my second impression of you confirms my first. :) read more

Bait and Switch. Your pavers will sink. Your turf will be uneven. You will have many many problems after their work is "done". Why? Because they will not do the job to ICIPI standards....even though they state they are trained. They have 1 good crew that does all their commercial work and then they sub out their work to below part $4/per square foot guys that are not licensed and do not have ICPI training. They pay home Home Depot and Home Advisers for customer leads, thats how they get business. What you fear from starting a job with a contractor is exactly how the job will go if you choose to go with them. Don't believe their pricing. They will change it by measuring the job after the contract is executed. And if they do honor their price, guess what, they are going to cut corners everywhere. So much so that you will have sinking pavers everywhere you drive your car or put something that weighs over 50lbs. Roger Goodman is the owner. He is a very unpleasant person. Just look up how many arbitration hearings (American Arbitration Association) they had and how many they lost and how many were not won in their favor. You will be glad you did. These guys throw a lot of money to advertising and lead generation, just because they look professional, doesn't mean they are. You have been warned. read more

A friend in Agoura used Genesis, and specifically Kevin, to replace his traditional driveway with pavers. My wife and I had been getting quotes for similar work as well as adding planters, stairs, lights, and turf in the backyard. After seeing our friends' results we went ahead and had Kevin come out and give us a quote. He was knowledgeable about his products as well as the install process. Furthermore, he made some good suggestions with regards to materials, slope, size, colors, etc. Are they cheap? No...they aren't. But they aren't to most expensive either. The crews were on time and moved through the entire install in 5 days. This included a 3 car driveway, a corner lot front hard-scape, new stairs and walkway, as well as half a back yard with turf, finished with more pavers. Midway through the project we decided to expand on the stairs and planters...we got an immediate quote by phone and without delaying the project we were still complete by the weeks end. You get what you pay for. I highly recommend them....We got multiple quotes but are glad we went with Genesis and Kevin. read more

After interviewing many companies, we decided to use Genesis Stoneworks. Georgina Meuller was our design consultant, she came out several times to measure, bring samples and help us select the perfect pavers for our driveway. What I liked best is that Georgina was a customer for the company before becoming part of the team . In addition to being $20,000- $30,000 less than the other bids, Genesis doesn't subcontract, it was so nice to have the same team working on our house for the entire job , apparently, they have had the same teams of workers for years. If you are looking to put artificial turf, interlocking pavers, or any hardscape or landscape in your front or backyard, I would highly recommend Georgina Mueller and her team at Genesis! read more

We contracted with Genesis Stoneworks to remove all of our existing concrete, grass and most of our flowerbeds and replace with pavers and artificial turf. We obtained 3 quotes including Genesis' and Genesis was definitely the best price and value. Their sales guy, Chad, arrived to give us the quote, he was prompt, very knowledgeable, respectful and friendly. He took his time to understand our vision and guided us appropriately to pick the best solution. The team arrived at the agreed upon date and time. Fernando, their Construction Manager, was on-site every morning to assure the project was running smoothly. Fernando was also very knowledgeable, professional and easy to approach. He gave us excellent advice and always assured the team was doing the right thing. Fernando is a perfectionist and we appreciated his advice and attention to detail. The team was primarily 4 guys. They did everything from demolition to installing pavers, turf, drains and sprinkler pipe. Jose was designated as our "go-to" guy on site. He was amazing. Always willing to answer questions and checked in with us to assure things were being installed as agreed upon. Checking with us on the placement of drains, that sprinklers for drip systems were placed appropriately as well as design nuances were to our liking. He was friendly, helpful, courteous and kind. Great guy! Gerardo was one of the workers - a really hard worker. Great attitude and always smiling. In fact, all the team members worked hard to assure we were happy and the job was to our liking. We were amazed at how fast the demolition went. The team arrived promptly around 7:30 each morning, ready to work and work they did. The project was completed on time with no delays. They were organized, always had the needed materials/equipment available and cleaned up and organized their tools and materials each evening. The team also was most willing to help us move patio furniture, flower pots, etc. at the beginning and end of the project. At the end, Jose and Gerardo help us get everything back in place. The was a very nice bonus. We gave the fellows access to our bathroom inside our home. They were very respectful and always left it clean, the way they found it. Chad stayed in touch and came by to check on progress. He is a genuinely nice guy who is SO knowledgeable. He gave us excellent advise and guided us in the design and we're very grateful he did as the end product exceeded our expectations. By the way, Chad said at the beginning, when we signed the contract, that the job would take 2 1/2 weeks and it took EXACTLY 2 1/2 weeks. This almost never happens in construction. We cant say enough about their performance and quality. We HIGHLY recommend Genesis Stoneworks!!! read more

Genesis Stoneworks renovated our entire large patio to pavers after removing all concrete. Kevin Konzmann from Genesis was in contact with us and his service was exceptional. He is very attentive, organized and very polite. We got quotes from 5 different business and they had the second to the cheapest cost. We didn't choose the cheapest place because they were late and was not responding to our messages in a timely manner. Kevin was always in contact and reliable. The job was flawless, clean and was completed earlier than the estimated time. I wish Kevin and his crew took care of all home renovations so they can renovate me entire home! My wife and I used Home Advisor to search for someone to do our stone patio in the back yard. I called and had quotes done from four other companies and after talking with Scott, one of Genesis' contractors, he was able to bring the price down to a reasonable enough quote that paying for their services made sense. Scott took measurements, drew a project graph and sent it over with the quote to agree on and went so far as to have sample stones delivered for us to pick from because our work schedules weren't flexible enough to go to the store and pick them ourselves. Sarah and I wanted the project finished as soon as possible because we didn't want exposed dirt in our back yard for our 1yr old and two dogs to get into. Scott had it done in 2 days from the start of his project for a 500sqft oddly shaped area. All the stones are professionally cut to fit with a sturdy and flush finish. I sprayed the hose against the wall of the house to see if all the water ran away from the foundation. Everything flowed towards a new drain he had built and into the grassy area of the yard. We couldn't be more grateful with the high quality and professional work of Genesis Stoneworks. read more

During the month of August 2018 I engaged Genesis to break and replace all the concrete around my pool and my driveway. The team that completed this task was spearheaded by Ben Sanchez who proved to be very proficient in his trade. I tend to be difficult to please but the completion of this project was definetly flawless. read more

We received a call from Scott Raffety from Genesis Stoneworks after searching for a paving specialist on Home Advisor. We have a small yard and most other companies required a larger minimum area and our space did not meet their requirements. One company would do it if we removed our entire driveway and have it paved as well. The cost was astronomical and we were worried we wouldn't find a professional company to do the work. Thankfully, along came Scott! He came to our home quickly and gave us an estimate to replace all the grass but leave the driveway. It was half the cost of the other bids we received! We chose the pavers we wanted along with the pattern and they came out with a great team of workers! It took them about a day and a half to complete the work. It's beautiful and my husband doesn't ever have to "mow" that little old lawn again! We are very pleased with the work they performed and highly recommend them. We've already passed Scott's info on to one of our friends. read more

Kevin came out for out initial estimate for our driveway and front porch. We had another plan in mind, but he provided some valuable design insight which we appreciated. He was patient and presented a detailed mock-up of the work. The price quoted was very reasonable, so we signed the paperwork. The work began two days earlier than scheduled (because their other job finished early), and proceeded according to plan. I was not home for a lot of it, so with minimal supervision, they did an excellent job. Kevin remained our accessible point of contact throughout, and he or Ruben and visited the job site daily to assure our satisfaction. The job came out beautiful and was completed on time with good quality workmanship at a reasonable price. What more would I ask for? read more

We had one side of our yard that really needed help. An old concrete walkway was ugly and needed updating. Chad @ Genesis took great care of us. We had an absolutely terrible experience with Genesis Stoneworks. We had problem after problem with poor installation, repeated incorrect installation, horrible communication and on top of all that, a complete lack of caring and an unapologetic attitude through the whole process. I have extensive experience in construction and I can tell you first hand to steer clear of this company. We always tend to give the benefit of the doubt when it comes to honest mistakes, but all the issues we had could have been simply and completely avoided had this company done what any decent contractor should do. My patio is still not done correctly and I am sure it never will be. Do yourself a huge favor and hire someone else. I could go on and on about the numerous problems that I even escalated to the owner (who could have cared less), but simply put these guys don't care and their work reflects this. read more

In June 2014 we replaced our driveway with pavers and what a beautiful enhancement it was to the home. Everyone was great to work with at Genesis and Alan took the time to discuss colors and patterns with us. My husband came up with a boarder design they had not done before but that was not a problem for the installers, they did a wonderful job matching our request. On the first day we decided to extend the pattern on the walkway, so I worked with them to determine how best to accomplish this to keep the full pattern in tact and again they did a nice job. There was dirt left in the street so I called the office and they had someone come out and pressure wash the street to remove what they could. And what's reassuring is over the next 3 years if we have any issues with the job Genesis will repair it. For over 2 years I was pricing and waiting for the right company and price to move forward and we are so glad we went with Genesis. The job took 2 days and we had our new driveway! read more

This company was professional, prompt and competent with their evaluation and bid for our project. Do recommend highly.

This review is long overdue. Roger and his crew renovated our backyard well over a year ago, and the quick review is that they did an outstanding, 5 star job. It has held up brilliantly and looks just as good now as it did then. Our backyard required many facets including: demolishing existing patio, adding pavers, a small wall, artificial turf, adding electric lines/outlets, relocating a spa, repairing fenceposts, and adding drip irrigation to our beds. The great thing about this group is that they do all the work under one invoice with their own guys....no subcontractors, all with a very competitive price. Roger even helped us finalize the design by making some very good suggestions. The job took a whole week, but you could tell they were very efficient, and were willing to make small changes on the fly with no bickering or changing price. It was a real pleasure to work with them. We had a small problem with one of the electric lines, but even then they responded quickly and fixed the problem... no hassle,no argument. I truly value those who stand by their work. Our next project will be the front yard, and Genesis will be the first people I call. I have no hesitation in recommending them! read more

I wasted 3 weeks with this company and I might have to sue them for my down payment. A guy named "Brad" came to my home and negotiated a deal and told me it would take 3 weeks to get inventory. 3 weeks later, a guy named "Fernando "shows up UNANNOUNCED from Genesis looking to see the scope of the work. After a month from giving a deposit of $450 for a $4500 job, the original salesman "Brad" calls and claims they now want an extra $1k to start the job. I called Brads boss "Roger Goodman" and explained that it was not good business practice to renegotiate prices a month later and it was also very unprofessional to send a guy to my home without a scheduled appointment. Roger said he simply couldn't afford to do the job in the way his salesman "Brad" wrote the order. I WOULD NOT TRUST THESE PEOPLE. VERY UNPROFESSIONAL, VERY UNETHICAL, and they wasted 3 weeks of my time playing games. read more

We hired Genesis to do a backyard remodel back in March of 2016. They stated the job would take between 4-6 weeks to complete with plenty of time to be done before Memorial Day. They began work on March 30 and performed the last day of work July 25, almost 16 weeks later. We were told they would be done before Memorial Day, and when they missed that expected deadline we asked if it would be done for a planned end of school year event. They stated "Absolutely!" Well, they missed that. What about the 4th of July? "No doubt!!!" Again, that deadline was missed. The reason for these delays was an overly difficult project that they flat out underestimated, coupled with some borderline incompetent work. This work had to be redone (in some cases) three times. Some of the best examples: Sealing in our pool skimmer basket making it completely inaccessible, pool copings that were put on so crooked that you could see it from inside the house (these still aren't perfect, check the photos), and a wavy and uneven paver base for our entire patio including an uneven layering of sand that was never sealed in, because at this point I just need this company out of our lives after four months of exhaustive nonsense. We were very patient with the delays. Probably too patient to be honest. When we did call, a common response was, "We'll call you right back." Then a week would go by with no updates or call backs. At one point in June we literally went three weeks with zero word or updates on what the heck was going on??? We had finally had enough and demanded to speak to the owner Roger, only to be told he wasn't available because he was away on vacation. Must be nice. I figured he'd at least personally follow up with us at some point after it became known how unhappy we were on a high dollar job. We never heard from him until the day he came to collect our last payment. I figured there would be some apologies and some follow up on how satisfied we were as customers. All he wanted was our check and a picture of the yard. Nothing about the experience, if we were happy, or anything of substance came from the visit. At the end of the day, once we were done with the numerous delays, complete lack of communication, and inability to do professional work, the work is mostly done so that's why I give them two stars. However, I could not in any good faith recommend this company to anyone who wants a job of any reasonable complexity done. read more
