I live in tradition and would have never come up this far to have the panoramic glass top installed unless referred by Sunroof Express. The installer and the owner of the company of American auto glass, John R. Hall advised me he removed spacers from the panoramic glass roof in order to make it fit better. In speaking with Tesla and doing further research, I learned that the spacers are there strategically engineered to absorb impact to prevent cracking and breakage of the top and should never be removed. I called Sunroof Express, and requested a full refund for the panoramic glass roof of which they refunded me however they will not refund me for the installation of the glass panel which is $550. My consolation today was John said if the glass panel leaks, or I hear air, he will warranty the labor. I asked him if he would warranty the labor due to a crack in the panoramic glass due to poor installation and he said no! Essentially, what happened is the installer, John R. Hall owner of American auto glass has ruined the glass panoramic panel and I must now go to Tesla and have it installed properly and pay for installation charges again! Adding fuel to the fire Christine said yesterday on the phone they would refund the labor cost of $550 but upon arriving today, John R. Hall made it clear that was not going to happen. Specifically: 1. There is overspray in areas where it should not be present. 2. The paint color does not match the rest of the vehicle. 3. There is damage to the new quarter panel that was installed by Dyer Collision, which appears to have occurred during installation. Overall, the workmanship is very disappointing. Additionally, when we picked up the vehicle, it was extremely dirty. Charlene explanation why our car was dirty due to construction being done on the parking lot. Not a good excuse. After cleaning it ourselves, we were able to clearly identify the damages and defects mentioned above. I was pleased to pick up my car and found they took time to wash and vacuum. I just knew there were going to be hidden fees. When I got my keys from the office, I admit I had an attitude. They were patient with me. I left pleased with the bodywork, guaranteed repair work until I sell my car. I can see frustration if ppl are paying for rentals. To top it all off they emptied my console and left everything on the passenger mat, did a terrible job cleaning the car.They had to replace a headlight and rather than mention the new one would be brighter than the old. They said nothing. Please do your favor and shop your repair. This is not worth the stress you will go through. Do the job right the 1st time.
