This was a great surprise. It has been somewhat challenging to find really good food in the small towns within 30 minutes of where we currently live. Without Yelp, we would have never even noticed this great little diner. As stated in other reviews, it is very clean and welcoming. I believe it was one of the owners who greeted, seated and served us. Clearly there is a vested interest in ensuring that each guest has a good experience. I ordered from the lunch specials and my husband had a salad. My hamburger steak with creamed potatoes, green beans and roll was...PERFECT! I rarely get to say that. Every item was perfectly prepared and tasted amazing. I begrudgingly let my husband taste my food and he commented that he should have ordered the same. He figured it was harder to mess up a salad so he chose what he believed to be a safe option. At first I was surprised that they didn't bring butter for the roll, but it was already buttery and perfect the way it was served. I love great surprises and this was definitely one for the books. What a shame!!! This restaurant used to have the best food in town. The past few times we have gone the food was barely edible. The shrimp was greasy and over cooked. might as well have been chewing on a piece of rubber dipped in grease. The chicken used to be fantastic. Now it's like a piece of gristle with no taste. We were told the owner cannot get his usual spices because of Covid so he doesn't use any spice at all. The brussels sprouts used to be absolutely delicious. Now, like everything else they cook these days, it's covered in grease. What used to be the best food in Yadkin County is now the worst food. It's overpriced sub par tasteless rubbery food covered in grease. Absolutely terrible. Save your money. read more

My husband and I were on our way home from Hilton head and stopped to stay at Jonesville overnight. This restaurant came highly recommended to us and it did not disappoint!! The food was tremendous. This was better than any restaurant we had eaten on our week long Hilton Head Vacation!! The salmon and steak were so delicious!! It melted in your mouth. I asked to have pictures with the owner. They served us black, charred Brussel sprouts! They should be ashamed to serve that shit! Wait staff does not check on you! My salad nor bread was served with my meal. I had to ask for it! Cashier didn't offer any remarks or apologies for their horrible service! Definitely don't recommend! Lack of management of staff here! read more

The unsweetened tea was delicious, but unfortunately the refill I was given was sweet tea (admittedly my own fault for not saying anything) The hush puppies were alright, slightly overdone, but the cinnamon butter was delicious. I ordered the southwest chicken, which could have been really good, but the chicken was not tenderized at all and was way too thick. It had an interesting texture to it. The restaurant seating was uncomfortable... we sat at a booth but it felt like a wooden bench (it was). Service was good but felt really impersonal. This is the place is amazing. They have it down to a science here. There is something for everyone. Plus some craft beer and wine too. I could come back here tomorrow for lunch! We got: Southwest salad with grilled chicken- grilled chicken was very juicy and tender. Not sure why it was precut?? But did wish there was more. Nice family operated restaurant in the foothills of NC in Jonesboro. I looked and looked where to go for dinner reading Yelp, Trip Adviser and asking at our hotel. Most seemed to recommend Generations! To say it is not pretentious may be an understatement; it is small, not a lot of booths, but staff is friendly. The lady at our hotel said they may have had the best steak she ever ate so of course my husband ordered the 12 oz rib eye with garlic mashed potatoes! He really liked it and said it was better then the grass fed rib eye I bought at a local, trendy grocery store! I ordered fresh grilled shrimp and got ten, with hush puppies and two sides-salad with homemade dressing and grilled roasted Brussels sprouts. Everything was good; I'd pass on the hush puppies they were chewy. Even on a Tuesday night they got a nice crowd for home cooked meals. read more

The food was okay, but the service was disappointing. We were one of only three occupied tables in the restaurant. We ordered wings and a salad. They were delivered to the table without comment, no one came back to check if the food was okay (the wings needed another minute in the fryer to crisp) or if we needed anything (napkins, we needed lots of napkins). I got up to find my own napkins. At checkout, I was asked if everything was okay. I told the cashier "yes, just okay." She seemed content with that. Maybe they are better when the place is busier. After spending the day hiking the trails at Stone Mountain State Park, we stopped at Generations. This place offers rustic decor with relatively uncomfortable booths or tables. The food was a significantly better than expected. We each had a 1/3 pound burger, onion rings and a wedge salad. All three were very good. Our server was gracious, hard working and pleasant. The food is substandard but the worst part is the horrible attitude of the owner. Looking for a fight and does not believe in customer service. Staff were friendly but he was horrible. What a hidden gem! This place was wonderful all around! We started out with great friendly service that is incomparable. We ordered the hush puppies with cinnamon sugar butter and OMG! They tasted like crispy little donut holes. My husband and I shared the ribeye burger (2/3 lb of meat) and an order of fries, it was more than plentiful to feed us both. I normally do not like to try new places if I do not know what kind of an environment it is but I thought I'd stop by and check it out. I am glad I did!!! I had their salmon with veggies and my mouth wanted more. It came with a side house salad and a drink. My salmon was well done to my liking and had a flavorful honey taste which I enjoyed very much along with the vegetables. The salad was good as the lettuce was fresh and so were the tomatoes. However, the price did seem too steep for salmon around here in Jonesville. Still, I will be having the salmon again. read more

This is a good local restaurant. The atmosphere here leaves something to be desired, but the food is very good. I had the half rack of ribs with the house original sauce, with fries and a house salad. My wife had the 12 oz sirloin with baked potato and house salad. The salads were fresh and good. Fries were "hand cut." I added a 16 oz Red Oak draft beer, which was very good and served in a frosty glass. My only complaint was with the bill. Our meals were advertised on the menu as $12 each and the beer was $5. They don't put the price on the bill, just tabulate at the register. They told me my bill was $32. Then if you are using a card instead of cash, they add a surcharge (about 4%-5% by my reckoning). I don't think they were taking advantage of me just because I was a northerner traveling through, but who knows? read more

Was recommended by the front desk clerk at Best Western so we decided to try it. Didn't look like much upon arrival but it was definitely worth walking thru the doors. I went out on a limb and ordered the baby back ribs. To be honest, I've had baby back ribs that were more tender, I've also a lot more that were tougher. But I have never had baby back ribs with so much meat on them. And they tasted great. I would highly recommend these and would order them again. My husband had the hamburger steak and he also loved his. The staff was great, very friendly and on top of things! Will definitely return next time I am in the area. read more

Passing through the area and hotel staff at the Fairfield Inn recommended this restaurant. They said it was very good. We were a bit skeptical when we drove up. The outside and inside for that matter are both very unassuming. However, the fact that it was packed on a Wednesday night told us there was something good happening inside. The meal was "far" beyond expectations. In fact, we live full time in a high end resort town with lots of fancy, and expensive restaurants. I would rank this up there with the best of them, at a much better price tag. Every aspect of the food told you that there was a very well trained Chef running the kitchen, and there is! The crab cakes were to die for, and the Salmon was one of the tastiest and best prepared I have ever tasted. Wild caught of course. The sides of asparagus, Brussels sprouts, mashed potatoes, all were prepared to perfection. The longer we were there the more we appreciated the fact that the interior was casual and unpretentious. In fact, it genius. Just let the food do the talking and they will come. And boy do they. The locals have adopted this as there go to spot. The couple next to us eat there every week they said. If I lived in the area, I'd be there every week as well. The prices are kept reasonable to not offend and the menu even has seasonal specials. We will now go out of our way to stop here any time we are close by. P.S. thanks to the folks at the Fairfield Inn for the wonderful recommendation.
