My wife and I were initially nervous about how the shake siding would look compared to the real cedar we had before. Oscar simply told me that it was not possible to change the order. Not sure what you heard on your end, but that's the truth. I would have been open to that. Also, the door I received is not custom, it is a standard size, only the framework around the door is "custom" as is ANY door frame. Here is the language from my contract: "Re-frame the opening to accept a door: 5/0 x 6/8" And from Google: Yes, a 5/0 x 6/8 (60 inches wide by 80 inches tall) is a standard size for Neuma's sliding doors. Neuma offers this specific size as part of its standard offerings, particularly for its Bypass Gliding Doors." So actually, switching my order to French doors would have simply involved extra paperwork. Update: I am lowering my review to one star because Exovations refuses to address the door issue. After a few months it has become apparent that I can't use the heavy glass patio doors they installed. I am disabled and over 65. It is very difficult for me to pull open the heavy door due to a spine injury, and I have tripped on the large threshold. I sent an email to them before installation, stating I needed the door opening to be at least 40" wide to accommodate a wheelchair, and they gave me one that opens to only 22" wide. I recently emailed them to ask that they change out the patio door to French doors, which I wanted in the first place, and they refused. It will now cost me thousands of dollars to have the door replaced.

I gave the installer my dogs' measurements, and he saw them in person. He held up the dog door to…read moreshow me where he was going to place it - about 4 inches from the ground. But then he installed it higher up on the exterior door (9 inches from the ground!), such that my smaller, older dog has to almost jump through it - with difficultly. She even hurt herself and started limping as a result. She's not going to be able to go through it at all in another year due to her age. Even my bigger dog has to make effort to get through it. He kept telling me it was fine despite this and refused to move the door lower (which I wanted done despite the fact I would have a gap at the top of the exterior door, so I would at least have a temporary fix for the dogs) . Now I have to replace the exterior door and have the dog door reinstalled. So, I spent $1000 only to have to spend another $1000 - for a new exterior door with paint and installation and removal and reinstallation of the dog door. Wish I had gone with Elite Pet Doors... AND the dog door he had me buy and delivered to him is much too large for my dogs - even though I gave him my dogs' measurements over the phone. I checked the manufacturer website and what the size dog door I received is not the size recommended for my dogs' size. AND he left all the trash from installation in my garage.

Oscar, the O in JOC, is the father, and he has a heart of gold, meaning that he will tell you exactly what needs to be done in order to take care of the customer's property as if it were his own. We had siding pieces that were foamed in to fill gaps (from previous jobs that we didn't know how to check), and he showed these to us, and told us what would be the best option to fix it: to replace these with custom cut pieces of cement board. And they did it beautifully and the same day. Our home had probably 30 different things that needed to be redone, or revamped, from siding, deck, paint, caulking, window glass, roofing, fascia's, front doors, stairs, wallpaper teardown resurfacing and painting, and much much more. I would trust JOC to build a home for me from scratch. And i know that it would be done correctly through and through, from the best materials, to the best worksmanship. We are so thankful to God that he brought Jennifer and Oscar into our lives. Because of their expert teams (they have multiple crews!) we have been able to accomplish what would have taken at least 2 months, in 2 weeks.
