I placed my order and had to laugh with the worker because they were so many hilarious signs around the shop! Of course I had to try the brown butter sea salt cookie. Can you blame me? My sandwich was made fresh and devoured instantly. The focaccia had a slight char, the egg was cooked perfectly, and the bacon was super crunchy. I didn't love the American cheese, but that's just my personal preference. There's not a lot of seating options besides the one table in front. No biggie - pull up a curb or stand and eat. My sandwich was delicious and I'm excited to go back and try other variations!

When I walked in, my initial impression wasn't really much different than what I originally thought, that it's kinda a half empty looking store. I found my way back to the freezers where the meat was and initially didn't think there were many options. But the guy working there (maybe the owner?) came by to give me the "grand tour". He showed me that the sausages are actually in these white boxes (pictured). I picked the garlic and mild Italian options. Which come out to about $15 for 6 sausages. Initially that felt expensive, but when you actually look at them, they are pretty big, so it's really not tooo much more than if you got something from Walmart. I told him it was my first time, and as I said that he went into the back, and came out with a package of breakfast sausages on the house. He then also gave my kid a quarter so he could get a toy from the machine up front. At the last minute, I noticed the buns they had and put it on the counter. He proceeded to give me the buns for half off for basically no reason. Never in my 31 years of life have I had an experience like this at any store. I felt the pride he had in their product and was totally taken off guard at his kindness. I have yet to actually try the food, but if they are even 1/4th as good as my experience in store, I'm sure they will be incredible. Can't wait to go back.

Plus, the owners always give great recommendations for new products to try and they will give me a sample to make sure I like it too! They have a ton of novelty candies for kids. The cafe serves typical diner fare, but is way on the pricey side. One day on the specials board I saw root beer floats for $5. Ouch. The counter where you pay has a lot of delicious looking baked goods in it like humongous cookies and muffins, but I've never tried them. We have never dined at the cafe, but plan to, eventually. They have a monopoly being the only place to grab a cold drink and a bag of chips on the mountaintop, but I enjoy the general-store look of the place and the charm of the mountain resort in general.

But they also have choices like burritos etc. I was a fan of the chori dogo, and the regular with beans and tomato. I haven't had a chance to check out the dessert but i definitely intend to. The staff is pretty relaxed and make sure that you know the options. The storefront itself can be a little co fusing you first time in, but there is more seating around back and a couple tables to choose from. They are definitely trying to update the decor but it feels small at first but I'm hoping the layout gets better over time.
