Each time I've gone in for maintenance on my dreads they have booked me around other clients appointment times to reduce capacity indoors and their setup is totally amazing with maintaining social distancing ordinances. Kaeley is such a tremendously amazing human being as she helped reassure me when booking the appointments that safety was the main focus and once I was there her warmth and compassion made it really feel as though we weren't in the midst of a global pandemic. Serums, oils, supplements, etc. I've always been afraid to try hair extensions because I wasn't sure if I had enough hair to begin with, or even strong enough hair. I've always heard they're damaging to your hair so I am very protective of the little I have. To make my hair look somewhat normal, I would use a 1/4 can of big sexy hair root boost, living proof thickener, blow dry upside down and then crimp underneath it to give it volume, and then curl it. It's been a process each time and it's irritated my scalp. I had to cut off my hair in October because it was just so damaged. After doing more research, I stumbled upon IBE hair extensions and I figured I would give it a shot. I found Shelby through the site and saw she had some pretty good Google reviews so I thought I'd make an appointment to see if I was a good candidate. The consultation went so well and she gave me so much hope. She was able to work around my schedule to get me in quickly too. The entire experience was incredible and her passion, thoughtfulness, meticulousness and thoroughness are extremely evident during the whole process. I was blown away by every part of the appointment, the coloring, the cutting, toning, etc., and she has such an amazing personality and knew how to make me comfortable and in tune with everything she did. At the end, when I saw the final product, I cried. Shelby gave me something I've wanted for so long and all the emotions from this journey just hit me at once. I feel so indebted to her and I am so happy she is now part of my journey moving forward. I promise you, you will not leave disappointed and I will sing her praises wherever I go. My stylist was very nice and we had great conversation. Unfortunately, however, she didn't do anything close to what I asked for. I wear glasses, so i couldn't really see in the mirror and I was turned away from the mirror so I couldn't even see it when I left. She didn't even bother to show me the back. It wasn't until I got home that I saw that not only was it so so so much shorter than I'd asked for, but it's just an all around bad haircut. She was very heavy handed with the razor so the few places I do have a little length, it's thin and frizzy. Full disclosure: I had cut my own hair (I'm a former stylist) and made a mistake on one side. I was very clear on what I wanted. I said I wanted to keep as much as I could as I'm trying to grow it out, and I just needed the other side evened up with the side I went too short on. I even included that I didn't want it "spikey"! I provided 3 pictures, all pretty similar, and my hair was plenty long enough for all of them. When I went in, my hair was just over 6 inches all around. Now, it's less than 2, uneven, tapered to about 1 inch above my ear, then 2 inches right below it creating weird bumps in the over all style. She kept my bangs (thankfully) but directly behind, it's so short it's spikey, exactly what I said I didn't want. It's not just that it's just too short, it's a terrible haircut, and there's nothing I can do to make it better until it grows out. My goal isn't to bad mouth the salon or the stylist, she was great working with me to get me in and really seemed to listen to me, but this truly is the worst haircut I've ever had. It will take several months before I can even fix it. Even though it's incredibly embarrassing, I've actually decided to add the pictures because I think it's necessary to see how bad it really is. Sadly it's been almost 2 weeks and not a single person from the salon reached out to offer to try to even it out or make it better in any way. No accountability for mistakes. Feel free to remember that before choosing this salon.

I found Katy (thankfully) while trying to find a stylist that could not only fix what I had (let go of) bring my hair back to life after. My hair had been through quite the processings from a prior place where it went from a stylist messing up to another stylist getting it to a place of liking but after letting it settle I had quite the grow out aka. burn out feels.
