2 stars because they did a good job on resoling a pair of boots for me once before…read more I dropped off a pair of sentimental Redwing boots to be re-soled 11 weeks ago. I was given a very vague timeline for completion. After about 6 weeks I began to attempt to reach out to them to get an estimated date of completion. I received 1 text back over that period saying that they would find the boots and give me a call. No call came. I made numerous trips to the shop (during their posted hours) to get an eta, but they had the store closed. They were open finally when I went Thursday. The owner stated that he does not check his messages, his girlfriend does, because he has hundreds of messages asking for completion dates and doesn't have time to return them. I was really frustrated and disappointed. He did commit to having them done within 7 additional weeks. At this point I took my boots home with me not wanting to do business with them. I can't get myself to spend money somewhere that is so horrible with customer service and takes over 4 months to put soles on boots. You can send them off to Redwing for the same money and get them done OEM in 4 weeks. Shops in Nevada City and Roseville were less money and promised less than 2 weeks.

Fairly ... the owner may be a good shoe craftsman, yet his customer service is so "spotty" …read more.. depending on his MOOD(s), I guess. I dropped several pairs of shoes in to have heels resoled. THREE MONTHS later, I called yet another time and finally someone answered. I rushed over to get the shoes (a pair of knee-high leather boots, and clogs) and just three 'wearings' later, of the (great, expensive) boots, the heel sole came undone (hanging half-way off?!) while walking around Safeway. I almost fell-over! I limped to the cashiers, while a couple nice people offered to help and carry my basket of purchases. Getting out to my car was worse ... and I had to remove the boot so I could drive my car back home. I carried my grocery bags, in sock-feet, inside. Muttering.
