I arrived at my appointment 30-40 min late due to really bad traffic. She could have cancelled my appointment, but she didn't. On top of that, when I booked my appointment, I thought what I selected included and wash and blow dry (which it did not), she explained to me that when I booked my online appointment, I selected "box braids" which are not the same at knotless (which is what I wanted). I immediately told her I did not know the difference (as this was my first time getting braids). She explained to me the difference, and that the knotless braids required more prep work, and take longer. I felt so bad! She spent about 30 min separating hair, and then another 30 washing and blow drying. She was the sweetest young lady. The fact that she was willing to accommodate my mistake really touched my heart. And on top of that, she did an AMAZING job. I originally tried to get an appointment at Fatima Braiding Studio, but their customer service was so horrible, I had to look elsewhere, and I came across Bintu Parlor, and I will not only be returning, but I will be recommending her to everyone I know. I was afraid my head would hurt during and after the braiding process, but It was actually so relaxing I was falling asleep. But everything after that became an absolute nightmare. The nail art and French tip services were nothing short of unacceptable. I asked for a simple French tip with a design, and what I received was so poorly done that it had to be redone over five times--on both my toes and my nails. Five times. Not because I was being picky, but because the work was visibly uneven, sloppy, and nowhere near the basic standard of a professional nail salon. I wanted to leave multiple times, but the staff insisted they could "fix it," only to make the same mistakes over and over again. Instead of feeling pampered, I felt trapped--stuck in a chair for far too long, watching my nails look worse with every attempt. By the end, I was physically and mentally exhausted from the experience. And then to be charged over $130 for nails that genuinely look like I did them myself at home? Completely unacceptable. I walked out feeling embarrassed, angry, and honestly, betrayed for putting my trust--and my money--into this business. I regret staying, I regret paying, and I regret giving them the benefit of the doubt. I will never return, and I sincerely hope no one else has to go through what I did.
