However, I was desperately in need of a salon that accepted walk-ins and was accessible for disabled customers, so I decided to give them a try. I am very glad I did. From the moment I walked in, I was greeted warmly and asked what services I wanted. I requested a shampoo, deep conditioning treatment, and a trim. I was taken right away for my shampoo and deep conditioner. Another stylist set my hair on rollers, and once I was finished under the dryer, another stylist promptly began styling my hair. The entire process was efficient, and all of the stylists I interacted with were friendly, patient, and accommodating. As someone with a disability, I especially appreciated the kindness and patience they showed me. Unfortunately, that is not always the experience disabled customers receive, so their attentiveness meant a great deal. My only minor concern was that during the deep conditioning treatment, I was not initially offered a towel to protect my clothing. I did ask for one because I did not want my shirt to get wet, and it was provided. Overall, I was very pleased with the service and the professionalism of the staff. My experience was positive, and I plan to return in the future.

I grabbed the coffee and caffeine! Lol passed on the treat until later as got to watch the calories before Thanksgiving! I love that I was put under the dryer to help my color seal! That is not often what they do!! Then I love that they put a second layer on to ensure it was sealed! The $15 price difference adds up because I get my hair blown out weekly. That said, Greenbriar is a short drive and on weekdays you can get in and out pretty quick. On a Monday night I was in and out in about 90 minutes, which is record time for a wash, detangle, condition, roller set and blow out. This is my second time going to Videa. I was skeptical at first because I saw flat irons and IMO "real" Dominican shops don't use flat irons. But Videa does and excellent blow out without flat irons. The shop is clean and connected to the gas station. There is ample parking either at the gas station or behind the shop. I've only been twice but most of the AA women who get their hair here have long, healthy real hair...which says a lot in Atlanta...weave capital USA...not throwing shade...just saying it's nice to see real, healthy hair... In conclusion, while I would prefer to pay Norcross prices, I'm willing to pay a little extra for the time I save getting my hair done at this location.

As another woman commented, with coily hair you must detangle gently and from the bottom up. That wasn't done for me. Next you are under the dryer an absurdly long time, not checked in with, no offer of water or anything. The blow dry and style has no regard for preserving the integrity of your natural curls, as I have discovered my leave out is basically bone straight now. Not to mention, I heard my stylist mentioned while looking at my hair, "mala" in Spanish meaning, "bad". Sadly, my hair appeared nice, but it is heat damaged, and I was charged entirely too much for poor treatment. I owe it to myself to warn you, especially if you have coily textured hair, this is not the place for you! I spoke to 2 ladies, one was the Azara the owner, and was quoted $60. I was so excited! Other African shops quoted me $70/80/90! And African-American salons were worse! They quoted me $120+ and up! I was so frustrated and stressed and didn't know what to do..... so when Azara quoted me $60, i jumped on it! I was seated right away and there was no wait time. Bella started my hair and her and Azara worked on it throughout the process.As the day went on, more people came and even when it got busy, there was little or no wait time and all the ladies were kind and accommodating. Everyone was very warm, friendly, and professional and they don't talk or gossip too much like some other salons. Just work and braid. Other women had their hair done or called on the phone while I was there and they too paid or were quoted very low/affordable prices. I was surprised at how affordable Azara's prices were.
