Of the three previous ones I visited, one didn't have the color I wanted, one did not have a qualified colorist, and the last one required a consultation then a week to two week before an available appointment even though a sign posted states that walkins were welcomed. I walked into Egyptian Hair Styles on Saturday, spoke with the owner, told her what I wanted, and she informed me that any of the stylists could do what I wanted and assured me they have the color I wanted. The next day, Sunday, I did a walkin and was able to get exactly what I wanted. Both days I went, the employees greeted me promptly and was pleasant throughout my entire visit. I was seated in a chair quickly and the stylist began working on my hair. She asked what I wanted and delivered just that. To top it off, the price was reasonable. Parking is shared with other stores in the plaza, but there was plenty space available. I would definitely recommend the team here and would definitely return for and service I need.

BEWARE! CHEMICALS ADDED AT SHAMPOO BOWL!…read more I was referred to George by a very close friend who has a head full of long, natural, color-treated hair just as I do! Upon visiting, we were both thrilled at how quickly we got in and out (less than an hour) for a wash, dry, and style. We both even took our teenage daughters, too. My girlfriend first realized that something wasn't right upon washing her daughter's hair after only going to George a couple of times. She noticed the texture was straight n stringy n the back and it just didn't feel right. When washing her own hair, she also noticed the same thing and told me about it. Needless to say, when I washed my own head later (in preparation for summer knotless braids), I realized that my hair felt thinner and lighter towards the ends. So, I decided to give it a break from the heat this summer. Upon going to my main stylist, today, she initially felt my hair was ok, but would know for sure once she washed it. Upon washing it, she was upset and stated "my head is not the same head!" She informed me that they were using chemicals on our hair (e.g. relaxer) and we didn't even know it. I have been natural for over 14 years. Apparently, they add chemicals to make our natural hair more manageable, so they can quickly get us in and out. However, it totally destroys our once healthy full head of hair. I will NOT be going back, but definitely felt that I needed to provide this review to inform others as I was once sending George very high praises! Not anymore...

I asked for a TRIM, emphasis on the word TRIM! and LONG layers with curtain bangs. My hair used to be down to my butt, now it is right below my chest. I really don't like people cutting my hair, but my relative came here before and had a decent experience, so I decided to come here as well. Jessica cut my hair. I told her to only cut about an inch off and even gave her a reference photo. I demonstrated with my fingers how much to cut as well. She said okay and started cutting right away. My hair ended up 8 inches shorter!!! The layers are so short and the bangs aren't even close to what I imagined. After the cut, I was sent to receive a shampoo. The man there did very well and it was relaxing with the massage. That was the only good part about this experience. After I was done shampooing, they both blow dried my hair then she started to put a hot iron on it--with no heat protectant. After that, she started cutting more again. It was uneven because she didn't even bother to fix my middle part after the wash. I asked her if she could fix my part, but she told me that it's okay and to just put it any kind of way. Seriously? I paid 60+ tip, which I shouldn't have even done. I didnt realize how short it was until I left. I screamed inside of my car because I was so angry. I am so upset and will recommend that if you have long hair, to not go here unless you want a big chop. I will never go here again. 0 stars

She apologized, asked me to reschedule, and even offered to do my service for free to make up for it, which I agreed to. My appointment was for a big chop that I needed done for an event, so I was really counting on her. The next day, I messaged her with my availability since I work a lot and asked when she could fit me in. Instead of setting a new day, she completely went silent. She stopped responding to my messages and never followed through on the reschedule. I reached out multiple times, but she ignored my texts and came across as very nonchalant and unprofessional. I can't speak on her skills as a stylist since I never received the service, but her lack of communication and reliability made me lose trust completely. Overall, the experience was dismissive and inconsiderate. Also the name of the business is natural beauty organics. Not natural beauty natural hair. Although it is a natural hair salon.

This was fine, but there was no indication over the phone or even at her home that this was the location. What I was most concerned about wss that they claim to be a natural hair salon, but the products used weren't and the way my hair was blow dried was very aggressive and painful. I felt as though some of my hair was being pulled out due to the type of brush and technique that she was using. My hair is very soft and does not require that kind of treatment. Overpriced.

Hubby and I drove 6+ hours from Florida to be serviced by Narada and I'm over the moon pleased with…read morehis service. It was worth the dive and time. He and Henni made us feel very comfortable, like we were family. I've been natural since about 2009ish and love my silvers. For the most part wearing wigs or getting the occasional silk press. Very rarely would I wear my natural hair out in its 'kinky' state. In October 2023 did a big chop basically as a no hassle way of dealing with a surgery at that time. That was the last time my hair was serviced by a professional stylist. A had long ago given up using hair grease until a friend recommended I try Doo Grow. I was skeptical and began my search for a natural stylist who matched what I wanted for my hair. My criteria was a stylist who supported a simple routine that focused on low manipulation and back to basics healthy hair routine. I found an IG influencer who recommended the AfirkanHairGod as one who promoted a simple routine of water and hair grease as a moisturizing routine. The more I binge watched his videos, the more I knew that this was who I was looking for. His philosophy matched my ideal of what I was looking for. So I started following his recommendations of detangling, grease and other techniques he recommended and found they worked well for my hair. Case in point was that I had very crunchy ends that I thought would need to be cut off. Much to my surprise, at my consultation, I was informed that he only needed to trim very little. Apparently following his recommendations was already working and I was released to a one year follow-up unless I needed to come back earlier. So that solidified in my mind that he is genuinely interested in the health of your hair. He is not cut happy. He cuts when needed for damage, and then he gives you a choice of how you want to proceed to correct your damage. He is very kind, patient and answers all your questions. I've seen videos of his customers who come in with damaged hair and end up with flourishing healthy natural hair under his care and tutelage. So would I recommend The Griyn Thumb Salon with Narada and Henni? Absolutely!!! Hands down, my stylist of choice. Can't wait to see my home progress and get the results at my next visit

I've been to this salon twice now, all the way from Boston. I'm just gonna go ahead and say that…read moreNarada is the best stylist I've found in my 41 years-- he's undisputedly the best for natural hair in the US. Yeah I said it! He's the ONLY stylist I've seen assess hair for damage, section by section. I haven't seen anyone else do this (White stylists, Black stylists, or other) and I've consumed A LOT of hair content on YouTube, IG, and TikTok. I'd been watching his YouTube for years and finally decided to book an appt when I knew I'd be visiting ATL.. My first appt was this past Feb and Narada was warm & friendly, ON TIME, and took his time with my hair. I've literally never been to a stylist that only worked on MY hair and my hair only--not juggling me w/ other clients, which is VERY unsanitary btw! & You can tell that he just really cares about his craft. I learned that my hair was very damaged, brittle, and even discolored!--mainly from the Curly Cut fiasco (you can research the era of Black Girl Curls on your own.. ) and also b/c of hard water (although I was using a shower filter, I wasn't changing it out as often as I should.) He kindly answered all of my silly questions; even when I mentioned that I was ready to big chop as I have many times before, he said that he can give me a cut that will manage the damage for now. Then proceeded to give me instructions to cut an inch every 4 mos. until I come back to see him, which I followed. Fast forward 8 mos. for my appt w/ him last wknd, and my hair has been looking and feeling so much better ever since! l planned a solo trip for my Bday in ATL (& for the Brandy & Monica concert) and knew I had to take advantage of my time there to see Narada again. & I honestly think that getting your hair done w/ a guru like him is truly treating yourself. Now I'll warn you, he IS pricey, however I would advise anyone to get their coins in order to go see him. He will change the trajectory of your hair. At this 2nd appt, he said my hair is now "smooth as butter" and said that whatever I had been doing is working and I'm so happy b/c I was a bit nervous on what the update would be, considering all that damage just 8 mos. ago! He only ended up trimming about 1-2" at the most. And I'm now realizing that just like he said in my 1st appt, there was no need to chop it all off and go bald! He truly has a method and plan that can take you from damaged, brittle & breakage to healthy, lustrous & thriving in less than a year You just have to do the simple things he instructs you to! If you care about your hair, go there. I am SO GLAD that I found you on YT, Narada. Thanks so much for your knowledge, professionalism, precision, and the commitment + love for your craft! I am NEVER going back to damage again now that I know you. Oh & his styles kill too! Sick with the creativity. These photos he took for me below are of my first appt. The photos may be out of order upon upload but I've captioned each.

This is a quick weave spot and by quick I mean bring your hair, they sew and you're out the door, no consultation or real "hair care" intentions. Like a fast food version of a hair salon. The shop itself is adorable and in a stellar location. All of the stylists are extremely friendly and the shop was very clean. My only qualm is they're just not necessarily knowledgeable about different hair textures and hair care underneath the bundles. Again to be fair the hair I brought in was trash (basic outre, natural curl 1 solution pak $140 for 6 bundles)... I just wish they would've advised me it wouldn't work i/o collecting a quick coin for a trash install ($170 w/ tip). After waiting almost 2hrs my assigned stylist felt comfortable enough to take lunch (which I did not object to) and multiple phone calls during my session (which irked me) but didn't see fit to speak up along the way of the install. I cautioned that I did not want more than 2 packs single wefted, she proceeded to put almost 4!!! My leave out was abysmal and nothing I could realistically maintain given I am natural. My hair is also very thin around the edges. I left the shop with fairly high hopes (Saturday) but by the next morning my scalp was on fire itching and the braids were way too tight. Fast forward another 24hrs (Monday) and I'm in the first open salon chair getting the weave uninstalled (9am). Clearly I'm 90% at fault so this review is more of a warning if you are not familiar with sew-ins and managing leave-out and have high customer service expectations plan to spend more money somewhere else. I knew I had been all the way played when they were packing their bags to close before I even swiped my credit card and didn't even bother suggesting a follow-up wash / re-tighten, to leave a review, take a pic ect. I think we all knew it was awful and just wanted to be polite. I feel suckered out of the $170. Lesson learned.
