Ah, Gelatissimo... Who doesn't like icecream? Especially gelati? And just say the name - Gel-a-tiss-i-mo, sounds so Italian right? They are always open late in the middle of Rundle Street and the thought of getting the exotic flavours like pistacchio, belgian chocolate and caramelised fig. A couple of months ago they had a chocolate special on, and the whole front display was all chocolate flavours, like 20 of them at least! Their usual displays are pretty cool anyway, with chunks of fruit, swirls of chocolates and sprinkles of nuts topping every flavour. Gelatissimo do bambino cones on a little platter, sundaes, brownie with icecream and Christmas pudding. My favourite is getting melted Nutella on top of my icecream. There is outdoor seating as well as inside and there is an upstairs secluded area, just ignore the stripper pole on top the bar... Must have been from the previous business.

Review Highlights - Gelatissimo

As I brought the spoon to my mouth, I closed my eyes in anticipation of the flavour about to hit my taste buds.

Deliciously hip with breakfast at all hours- I'm in Heaven!…read more I have dined here multiple times however at least two have been whilst hungover & we all know that hangover food ALWAYS tastes good, so my judgement was always a little skewed. Each and every time I have consumed breakfast food because I could! This place makes muesli delicious- even though some would argue that this is impossible however I consumed the most amazing muesli ever here. Poached eggs with beetroot and ricotta- they have that too and it sure is yummy! A few more flavours of tea wouldn't go astray however considering their already broad and varied menu, I think I'll let them off this once. As we have established, the food is brilliant but so is the location- ridiculously hip and a trendy place to be seen, some would argue that this place errs a little on the pretentious side of things and yes it does walk a fine line but it does so very well! The staff leave a little to be desired- as others have mentioned that could all probably do with a happy pill or two but hey, if they bring me my food and it's that tasty, I'm going to put up with their up-side-down smile for now! I'll be back again though- that's for sure!

Review for upstairs fringe venue:…read more A low rumble....As if the earth was stirring for something memorable. A slight tension cuts the air. The familiar echoes of a jovial Friday night. We are in Adelaide at the Store on Melbourne Street to see a funny man! His name is Ben Darsow (known in the East as 'he who sells out awesome fringe shows'!). Who would've known we'd be in for an hour of hilarious quips and great stories?! Such a great show. The audio in the venue was well balanced, the decor is funky and it's well within walking distance of heaps of great eateries and watering holes. I feel a little sad that i only saw one show here, I've been told that during the fringe season they've been running between 2 and 4 shows most nights, quite successfully with various comedians in tow. The Store will be running shows (presumably comedy) again in 2016 and I for one will definitely be back! Now that I've seen the upstairs, I'm also looking forward to round 2, trying the downstairs food and service!

I know I'm going to sound like every other gushing belieber on here but seriously, this cafe is too…read moregood not to 5 star. The spectacularly friendly Dan and Amanda make coffee, counsel on life's problems and serve delicious Sweet Lola desserts and Four Seeds treats to a community of locals, loyals and newbs they treat like part of the Ethel family. If you are going to browse or shop in this life size Etsy store you need to be prepared... When you arrive just order coffee, a chocolate salted caramel brownie and sit down at one of their nanna tables. Do not pass GO, or the 100 crocheted, wooden, ceramic tiled items of jewellery. Skip the ironic tea towels hanging on the wall or cards saying "If I were a zombie I'd totally eat your brains." Just sit down. Sit and enjoy your De Groot coffee or Scullery Made tea (served with a side of love and a chocolate freckle) in this peaceful, homely cafe and let your eyes initially do the browsing. Then when you've had a coffee hit you will have the strength and stamina required to begin your shopping expedition. Trust me, you will walk out of there with at least 1 gift for a friend or 3 treats for yourself. Walk off the main drag of Melbourne St and into this sanctuary of soul nurturing sweets and handcrafted treats and your heart will skip a beat too.

I'd heard a lot about E For Ethel and had wanted to check it out for a while, but hadn't managed to…read moreuntil today. I wasn't sure that it would live up to the hype--I mean, look at all these 5 star reviews! I am pleased to say that it did. Great staff, very friendly and helpful, delicious food and coffee and another place in Adelaide that make a great flat white with a shot of vanilla. Excellent! Our little group sat at the back table and chatted while we had our drinks and our brunch. The only real negative here (and it's a little one) is that the table wasn't cleared of our plates once we'd finished eating. And we stayed there for an hour after finishing our food, so that was a bit meh. Otherwise, E for Ethel is a nice little hideaway in North Adelaide and I can see why it's so popular and well-loved. Will be back for sure.
