I am always a big fan of Gelatissimo's ice cream, green tea ice cream in particular is one of my favorite flavors.
I went on a cruise lately for 12 days and has been cramming for it. So after the company dinner tonight my friends and I went to this store on rundle street. From afar, we can see a guy is closing the door wrap up and ready to close, so we turned around ready to fall back on our ordinary choices at late night. All of the sudden we saw two Australian girls walk to the guy at the door and asked probably whether it still open. And the guy nodded and they went straight in. So we assume that it still open for the last few minutes, and went in after the two girls. My friends asked the guy whether he is still open, and he said it is close now, and it closes after the Australians. And I asked really nicely not in any pushy way that if they can just open for me as the last customer since I've been cramming for it for the last 2 weeks and really love it. The guy just shook his head without any facial look on his face. So I left disappointed and empty-handed wondering how come the Australian girls get the last minute service but I didn't as an Asian female, together with my two Asian guy friends.
I normally behave cautiously polite and nice in public and get treat fair and nice. It is always my boyfriend, a cohesion, 6 feet tall engineer feels that he didn't got treat fairly here in his country, and I'm the one always try to talk him out of it by saying that don't take it personal or try to understand that serving staff usually under great pressure so they are allowed to be down once in a while.
I used to work in subway as a student and there are always customers rushed in the closing time when everything is already packed away. But unless the door is still open, I will never say no to them because I understand that they need help and really don't like the feeling of shutting people down.
This time, it is hard for me to accept the fact that Australian girls got the service with the bell on and I got shut down. I feel ashamed for you tonight, the guy with cool tattoo and earrings. I don't appreciate your attitude and that doesn't affect my high opinion towards Gelatissimo or Australian. I will keep holding my head up as Asian female and enjoy my stay here.
Again, the shame is on you, tattoo guy in Gelatissimo rundle street. read more
