Clearly their products are top of the line, in the past when I got gel on my nails a week tops before it started to peel. This picture is of a three week old service. Actually headed to the shop now. It only peeled in one nail and that's cause I chipped my nail. That tells me the previous shops I went to must've watered down the product to stretch. Based on the quality alone they have made a permanent customer out of me! Can't forget the music is always a vibe.

Instead of a greeting back, the first thing she said was, "Can you close the door because the air is on?" There was no "Hi, how are you?" or even a polite request. It immediately set the tone for the visit. When she finally asked how she could help me, I told her I was there for a color change. She looked around, sighed, and said, "We're not gonna have time for you today." I paused, expecting her to offer another appointment or suggest another time, but instead it just felt like, "We can't help you." I said, "No problem," and started walking out. An employee (who I believe was her assistant) ran after me and told me another customer had offered to let me go ahead since my service was something simple. I honestly hesitated because of the owner's attitude, but I wanted to give a black owned business the benefit of the doubt, so I came back. I thanked the customer who let me go ahead, but the owner never acknowledged me. Even something as simple as, "It's been really busy today, but we appreciate you and we'll be with you shortly," would have gone a long way. When it was finally my turn, I sat down and the owner asked, "You're just getting a color change, right?" I said yes, and she didn't say another word. It honestly felt like she still didn't want to service me but was doing so because I was already there. A little while later she yelled across to me, "Hey, blue shirt... what's your name?" After I told her, she said that from her angle it looked like I had my leg resting on the technician and that her client didn't want to turn around. It was awkward, but I laughed it off and once again tried to give her the benefit of the doubt, figuring maybe she was just someone who was a little rough around the edges. After my service was finished, I went to pay. The technician asked if it was my first time there. When I said yes, she then informed me there was a $10 fee because they had to remove someone else's polish. The "removal" was simply sanding off my previous color. My issue wasn't even the fee--it was that it wasn't disclosed before the service started. Any additional charges should be communicated upfront so customers can decide whether they'd like to proceed. So I ended up paying $30 for a simple color changed when I could've just waited and got a pedicure at that point. The final straw was leaving the salon without so much as a "Thank you," "Have a great day," or "We appreciate your business." The owner said absolutely nothing. While I was there, I also watched other customers come in asking for pedicures. They received the same short, dismissive responses and were simply turned away. As they walked out, the owner called after them, "Keep us in mind." Honestly, that's difficult to do when customers aren't greeted warmly, prices aren't fully explained beforehand, and there doesn't seem to be much effort to make people feel welcome. The salon itself is nice, but customer service matters just as much as the quality of the work. A little kindness, professionalism, and clear communication go a long way in building loyal customers. Unfortunately, because of how I was treated, I won't be returning, and I can't recommend this salon based on my experience. I hope this brings awareness to the owner and no one else has to go through this experience

Miyako is not the type of nail tech that will throw a ring of nail colors at you and tell you to…read morepick a color as you wait for the client before you to finish up. She's an artist, a designer, and a true innovator. There hasn't been a single design I've shown her (even the most elaborate Pinterest inspo) that she couldn't pull off and she always manages to elevate it beyond what I imagined. I first came to Miyako in search of a nail artist for my wedding. Leading up to the big day, we experimented with a few different styles I had in mind, and she nailed every single one (pun intended). She also did my Barbie-in-Vegas-themed bachelorette nails, which were absolutely stunning. I felt like a bad b**** every time I walked out of her studio. What truly sets Miyako apart is her meticulous attention to detail. The shape, smoothness, and evenness of the nails are always flawless. Even with just a plain color, my nails would look like they were perfect press on designs. You can tell she's a true creative who deeply cares about her craft. I also really appreciated the one-on-one setting--it's just you and her in a peaceful, distraction-free space, which makes the experience feel that much more special. I'm so sad I moved away from RPV and can't see her regularly anymore--but I'll absolutely be making that 2-hour drive for special occasions. She's that good, and honestly, I haven't found anyone else like her!

I've been here before a long time ago and 7 months ago to get nails done the day before my birthday. When I got my nails done the day before my birthday (which was also a week before my due date), my nails looked good inside the salon, but when I got to my car to send pics and videos, they looked bad. I went back in and they fixed them. Only issue was a few nails were filed so thinly because she had to redo them. Otherwise, they looked much better. I got my nails done 2 days ago, and I was pressed on time. I have a 6 month old, and my timeline was to get my mani/pedi done before my husband came home with a hungry baby since I'm breastfeeding. Well, the wait was too long, so I switch it to just getting my mani/have them fix 2 broken nails. Everything turned out decent in the amount of time I was there. It was $25 plus tip to do my cuticles, cut and shape my nails and "fix" the 2 nails. One day later, my broken nail was still jacked up on the side but had some protection on the rest of the nail. I don't really have time to go back before we leave on a trip, so that's why I'm rating them a 2 star. If it was as done correctly the first time (both times), I wouldn't need to go back. It's fine though because I have everything I need to fix it myself at home. I just didn't want to have to do it at home. This place is fine since it's cheap, but it's a reminder that you get what you pay for.

I've been…read moreto this salon before, and their work has usually been great, which is why this experience was so disappointing. This time, my nails were severely over-filed to the point that three of my natural nails broke and became incredibly brittle--something I've never experienced before. I should have spoken up that day, but it was right before the Fourth of July, and they were extremely busy. When I returned, they recognized me and offered to soak off the gel. Since my manicure didn't even last a week because of their poor work, I assumed they would accommodate me with at least a basic manicure while my nails healed. Instead, they recommended builder gel, saying it would help my nails recover. I trusted their recommendation, only to find out I was being charged $60 for a more expensive service. I would have been perfectly fine with a basic manicure until my nails healed from the damage caused during my original appointment. To make matters worse, both of my thumbs bled during the service, and despite everything, there was no discount, apology, or real effort to make the situation right. It wasn't just the manicure that disappointed me--it was how the situation was handled. As a returning customer, I left feeling like my loyalty wasn't valued at all

And it took 2 hours!!!! Any other place that does the same things I had done, would have me out of there in an hour or just over an hour. I will not be using them ever again.
