A dimly lit, cramped, dark, and friendly space rests a fondue restaurant made for a night out with friends, date night, or just a desire for melted cheese. A guitarist sits somewhere against a brick wall and plays music lightly but energetically. Service is friendly from start to finish and smiles are on everyone's faces. The menu is pretty easy to understand. You can get a three-course meal, or you can get each entree à la carte. You have two fondue candles in front of you, one for the cheese and dessert, and the other for the oil. We chose the three-course meal, and it was delightful. We started with the cheese appetizer. You get a basket of bread and fruit and we chose the seasonal cheese to dip. The oil for our meat was then left to heat, and we received a massive platter of veggies and meats for our main course. We chose the option for all selections of meat and seafood. After trying all the meats, I would opt for the lobster and shrimp. You can also substitute the oil for a broth. I would like to try the broth for next time. In one of the shakers, Gejas makes their own meat spice mix. It's recommended to put on the meats and even the desserts. It's a mix of tangy and savory and was a great compliment to the meal. We then chose the seasonal dessert, a white chocolate with vanilla cookies. Fruit, marshmallows, and churros to dip. We were so full by the time dessert came, but we enjoyed a few bites and took it home. The three-course meal, with five types of meat, came with about 10 pieces of meat. It doesn't look like a lot of food, but it truly is, with the apps, veggies, etc, your stomach will be full when you walk out of here. They also start the entire course with a mixed salad (so technically it's a four-course meal). It was very fairly priced, as well. Initially looking at the prices, you may think it's expensive, but it truly is a value with the amount of food they serve. This was rated as most romatic restaurant in Chicago. Its ambiance gives you the romantic feel, the guitarist adds to the atmosphere, and the staff is professional and friendly. This really was a great place and we enjoyed our time and meal.
One of the most special dining experiences I've ever had! Everything was perfection. My boyfriend and I came here as part of restaurant week. I heard this is one of the most romantic restaurants in Chicago and I can see why. The lighting is red, dim, and sexy. Love is in the air. Beautiful decor. Live flamenco guitar music plays softly and adds to the lovely ambiance. We were seated right next to the guitarist and it was magical. The seating is arranged so you feel like you have a lot of privacy. It's a spacious venue with many rooms. The food is phenomenal. I love fondue and this is the best fondue restaurant I've ever been to! We had a Gruyère cheese course with fruits and breads for dipping, a protein course (I had beef and shrimp) with veggies and a variety of amazing homemade dipping sauces, and a Belgium chocolate course with fruits, rice crispie and other goodies for dipping. Every course was high quality and delicious. We could really take our time and enjoy it all. We never felt rushed. I love an opportunity for a leisurely dinner. Excellent drinks too. The sangria was delicious and I ended the evening with a cappuccino with Frangelico. My boyfriend loved his old fashioned. They also offered wine pairings with each course. A huge thank you to Gary! He took amazing care of us and provided exceptional service. He explained the menu options and instructions for cooking so clearly, and was very kind. What a perfect night and I'll never forget it!
We had an amazing time participating in the Midweek Meltdown last night! Our server Holden was great and we really enjoyed the mocktails on the menu! I love going to Geja's for special occasions with my husband as it's very romantic in the restaurant, but it's also a great spot for my girlfriends and I because of this fun deal! Cheese & Chocolate sounds like a great option for girl dinner!!
We came to Geja's to celebrate our anniversary and it certainly lived up to the hype. We were lucky enough to have a table off the side by the window so it maintained the intimate feel without feeling cramped by other tables. Food-wise, it was very fun to cook everything ourselves. I do think the appetizers were my favorite part because I do just love fruits and cheeses, but everything was great. They were also very accommodating of celiac. Overall, we had a wonderful anniversary celebrating at Geja's.
I went in SO excited because it was a special day and I wanted to celebrate with a special someone!! I also LOVE fondue (especially when I had it as a kid), and saw that this was deemed the "most romantic restaurant in America". The vibes are romantic and the Christmas decor was so cute. The whole restaurant feels like a warm hug from your fancy grandma!!! We decided to get the Geja's premier fondue dinner. You start off with a swiss gruyere cheese fondue with assorted breads, fruits, and veggies for dipping. These fondues lean a bit alcoholic tasting, so if you don't want to risk that, ask for a nonalcoholic version!!! That was absolutely delicious. The next course was protein, and we tried the Prince Geja's combo with 10 oz total of beef tenderloin, lobster tail, gulf shrimp, fresh sea scallops, and boneless chicken breast. You dip it in boiling hot oil and cook for 2-4 minutes each. The broccoli and the mushrooms were actually DELICIOUS!! The proteins also come with 8 dipping sauces: bbq, herbed butter, giardiniera aioli, honey mustard, chimichurri, fresh dill, horseradish chive, and teriyaki. The chimichurri was my absolute favorite. The final course is a belgian chocolate fondue flambed tableside and served with marshmallows, bread, rice crispy treats, strawberries, pineapples, and more! We asked for no flambé as we don't do well with alcohol. The chocolate was super rich, but I was sooo full at this point! Overall, I do think this is such a romantic date night spot with such cozy vibes and live music! Our server was also the sweetest person and super duper attentive!
Recently went to Gejas Cafe for the first time after hearing about how historic it is in Chicago, and it totally lived up to the hype. I'd never done an entire fondue-style dinner before, so I was definitely excited to try it out. Started with an espresso martini that was excellent smooth, rich, and just strong enough. I also tried their version of a dirty martini with blue cheese olives, and that was another hit. Both cocktails were spot on. We decided to go all in on the classic fondue dinner experience starting with the cheese course, then the meats, and finally the dessert fondue. The cheese fondue came out super fast and was delicious, a Swiss blend that wasn't overly sharp, perfect for dipping bread and veggies. It also came with a fresh salad to start. For the main course, it's about $65 per person, which I thought was a solid deal given the portions and quality. You pick your own meats and cook them right at your table in hot oil kind of like a cross between fondue and Korean BBQ. I went with chicken, shrimp, and beef, and everything cooked up perfectly. The staff walked us through how to do it, made it super easy, and everything tasted great. The sides like veggies and potatoes were also on point. Then came dessert the chocolate fondue was amazing. They brought out churros, pound cake, marshmallows, graham crackers, and more to dip. It was the perfect finish to the meal. All in, it came to about $100 per person with drinks, and honestly, for a two-hour, interactive dining experience like this, it's totally worth it. Drinks were great, service was excellent, and the whole experience was just fun. Definitely a must-try spot in Chicago, I'd 100% come back.
Super super fun experience! It was my first time trying fondue and I really enjoyed it. The meat was surprisingly tender from being cooked in the oil. The different meats require different cooking times, so we had our phones out with a stopwatch to make sure we got the right cooking times. Chicken and potatoes require 5 min. Medium rare beef requires 1.5 min. And seafood was 2 min. I loved that you could flavor the meat to your own liking and that there were 8 sauces to dip your meats in. The horseradish went incredibly well with the beef tenderloin. The garlic oil sauce went well with the seafood and I also added a bit of salt to give it more flavor. The salad and cheese fondue didn't stand out to me too much. The cheese was a bit too alcoholic tasting for me. But it did pair well with the apple slices. The bread tasted a bit old and stale to me. And the star of the dinner was probably the cheese fondue. Oh my, the Belgian dark chocolate was so rich and flavorful. My favorite pairings were the marshmallow with graham cracker dust in the chocolate and the strawberries with chocolate. I would definitely come back here just for the dessert course. The bill was a bit expensive, around $90 per person including tip and tax. We also had used a dine-in credit with Groupon. Parking was a bit difficult to find around the area. We had to circle around a few times to find street parking. Service was attentive and informative. They knew it was our first time there so they took time to explain the sequencing of the meal. Thanks for a great time! This is definitely one of the most romantic restaurants in Chicago. We loved the atmosphere inside the restaurant. It felt like we were transported to Spain.
I had been wanting to go to this restaurant for a long while now and my plans, hopes and dreams finally came through last night. One of the best restaurants I've been to! Staff is absolutely wonderful and attentive. The food is exceptional. And no better way to enjoy the food and ambiance here than listening to a live guitar musician playing a flamenco in the background! I really recommend this spot! We had the Premier fondue experience which is a must here! The protein I ordered and highly recommend is lobster tail. Leave some room for the dessert drinks (espresso martini!) and the chocolate fondue. You can also make some s'mores!
The best fondue experience in Chicago. It's also rated on of the top date night locations. The food is fantastic and the staff is super friendly. The valet parking is quick and they have options for indoor and outdoor seating. They also have wonderful cocktails with a variety of beers. I highly recommend making a reservation.
The ambiance was so cozy. We showed up right before 4 and saw there was a reservation online so walked in and so happy we did. They checked our coats and hats and found a table for us. The restaurant got busy, quick! A popular spot with live music. It was so cozy inside. The food was amazing and priced very well. It was a great experience with delicious food! Cheese: amazing, came with onions, bell peppers, bread, grapes, apples and broccoli. Seafood: scallops, shrimp, lobster tail, potatoes, broccoli and mushrooms Chocolate: pound cake, marshmallows, pineapple, strawberries, bananas, rice Krispy and churros. The martini with blue cheese olives was delicious as well as the house red.
Ambiance (4.5 stars): I love the vintage interior--although the space feels a bit tight, it's still a fantastic spot for a date night or a fun outing with friends. Food (2 stars): Definitely overpriced for the portion sizes, with each ingredient served in disappointingly small pieces. The chocolate fondue ingredients lacked texture--churros weren't crunchy but instead turned firm, and the rice crispy treats tasted stale, as if they'd been left out too long. The chocolate fondue itself was thin and watery. The good part is they serve 8 sauces, I like two spicy options. If you prioritize food over ambiance, this isn't the place for you. Service (3 stars): Our server, a charming gentleman, was friendly and thorough in explaining everything--definitely a 5-star experience from him. However, another female server seemed eager to finish her shift early, repeatedly trying to take our fondue away while we still had ingredients left. This brought the overall service rating down. Price: We used a Groupon and ordered the Prince Geja's combo plus an extra cheese fondue, which came out to $50 per person.
Follow the rock stairs down into the magical fondue basement. The vibe was mood lighting, tables in alcoves with tied back velvet curtains, and a flamenco player. Gejas offers different fondue experiences with cheese, meat/fish, and chocolate. My daughter and I decided on the prince Geja's option and shared. The starter was a swiss gruyere and fontina blend served with bread (including a nice pumpernickel), vegetables, apples and grapes. The main had assorted meats and fish cooked in oil (not broth), which I hadn't done before but it gave a really nice flavor. That was also served with potatoes, mushrooms, and broccoli along with an array of sauces that made it so fun to dip. The final course was chocolate served with cake, fruit, marshmallows, and rice crispy treats. The whole place was such a vibe and it would be so cute to do a late zoo walk then Geja's is right across the street. It does say on the website no children under 10, so best to get the baby sitter for the littles.
Unfortunately, I cannot recommend Geja's Cafe. While it's a charming concept, our experience didn't live up to expectations. The ambiance was less romantic than anticipated, our meal burned, was very overpriced, and the service was inconsistent. It's disappointing because Chicago is home to so many wonderful restaurants, and Geja's just didn't seem to keep up with the times. Hopefully others have had better experiences. My husband and I invited close friends for dessert at Geja's, and while the restaurant was beautifully decorated for the holidays with string lights and wreaths, the experience quickly soured. We had a reservation but were asked to wait at the bar until our full party arrived, which was fine, though we were disappointed when the drinks we ordered were underwhelming. When we finally sat down, we ordered the Belgian chocolate fondue. Unfortunately, it was served in a worn-out pot that wasn't suitable for fondue--it quickly burned. The assortment of dippable items was also lacking--two plates shared between four people, with the equivalent of one whole banana and two Rice Krispie treats cut into pieces and a few other sparse dippables like marshmallows, left us unimpressed. For the $100+ price tag, we expected a more generous and quality dessert experience. Adding to the frustration, our server barely checked in on us throughout the meal. It's such a shame because Geja's Cafe has the potential for a lovely night out, but the execution was sadly lacking.
This was SUCH a cool experience! I'm so happy I had my first experience fondue experience at Geja's. The space itself is brimming with character, and I felt like I was transported to eastern Europe. The space was truly magical with twinkly lights and live music. It's on a lower level of commercial space, which added to the coziness. The staff working was all extremely professional and kind. We checked our coat (which is so nice, especially during Chicago winters) and were led to the bar to wait as they prepared the table. The bartender makes an amazing dirty martini! From there, we went to our booth and were explained the process by our server. I ordered the beef tenderloin and shrimp meal, but you and your party can all order different entrees which is nice. The first serving was vegetables and bread with a Swiss gruyere cheese fondue. The cheese was heavenly! Next, our proteins were served with lots of dipping sauce options. Our server instructed us on the time for each item which was really helpful. Everything was delicious and it was a fun experience! The dessert was so much fun too. Chocolate fondue and marshmallow roasting! We had such a fun time at Geja! It ended up being about $100 a person with drinks included, so it is definitely pricey (especially for a meal you're cooking yourself) but we really enjoyed it overall. read more

We brought our friend here to celebrate her 40th birthday--and it was the perfect celebration spot! The restaurant space is compact but feels very cozy--ideal for a special celebration or romantic night out! One of our party has an extreme gluten allergy and our server was extremely attentive. He explained in detail how the fondue was made and the steps they would take to ensure there would be so cross contamination--and brought her a separate fondue pot with safe dipping items. We all were very impressed by the care Gejas took! We ordered the cheese and chocolate combination and while both were wonderful, agreed the cheese was the favorite. read more

What a unique spot!! Came here after seeing the zoo lights with friends and it made for a very memorable evening. The location is on the lower level of a building and is decorated so cute and quaint, it feels like a hidden magical spot! The menu is easy to understand, there are a la carte and then the main selections that come with both cheese fondue to start and chocolate fondue to finish, I highly suggest going the latter route! The food is good but the experience is what it is all about, you cannot go wrong here if you are looking for a memorable night! read more
The vibe of this place is amazing, remind me of being in a little restaurant in Switzerland. They had a live guitarist playing which we sat next to, wasn't too loud at all. A great date night spot. Service was awesome, very on top of it and explained menu very well. Food was brought out very fast. got champagne and dirty martinis to drink. The dirty martinis were some of the best! To start you have cheese fondue with veggies and some fruits and breads. Next a side salad. Then your main and desert. Over all the food is very average, and the display of it is nothing fancy. I could buy all of this at the grocery store. I think it's a one time place you go to to try. The vibes were great overall. read more

My partner and I visited Deja's this past September with a Groupon discount. Even with that discount, we were treated incredibly well by everyone on staff. You could feel that they were excited to be running the service. My partner let them know about our anniversary and they made the night extra special; we even have a little card to remember the occasion. Our waiter, Tyson, was a wealth of knowledge. He managed so many tables with the same level of care; at no point were we left wondering what to do. He remembered our dietary restrictions throughout endless courses, it was amazing. The wait staff was full of attentive, courteous people. There was a live musical performance that night, too, which was a delightful addition to our trip. If I had any criticism, it would be this: the pound cake may have been a miss, at least in terms of "fondue dessert." I would also recommend avoiding the bathroom if you're on the claustrophobic side, but given that the location is underground, that might be a given. I look forward to visiting again whenever I find myself in Chicago. read more
There is street parking and valet parking ($15-$20 as of this post; I recommend it) I booked this place for my wife and I's first year of being married. There were so many things to say about this place: The ambiance is very romantic and also a little posh. It's definitely more of a business casual kind of vibe although my wife and J as well as the couple next us were definitely dressed down. The low-lit area coupled with the live nylon acoustic guitar really created a special kind of romantic space. The service was fantastic. My wife and I showed up 40ish minutes prior to our reservation and asked to be seated inside (it was a lot hotter than I thought it'd be when I initially booked). The staff were willing to worth with us and gave us not only an inside table but one right under an air condition vent (shout out to Bill for hooking it up!). Our server Spencer was super helpful in explains how to do fondue as my wife and I had never experienced it. He simplified it expedited our experience (which was great because we had a flight to catch). The food was delicious. The different sauces made for a fun night of experimenting with flavors and meats. I got the beef tenderloins with chicken while my wife got the beef tenderloins with scallops. The dessert was so good and so fun! Roasting marshmallows and dipping everything in the chocolate! All delicious. Some things to note: If you come here, plan to eat for no less than 2 hours. My wife and I had not realized that this type of meal is meant to be enjoyed and so a standard 1-hour eating time is not enough time. In truth, I wouldn't have been surprised if we would have spent 3-hours eating and honestly, the restaurant's ambiance welcomes it. Additionally, I'd recommend not getting the chicken, I have a shellfish allergy so I opted for the chicken and it took so long to cook (I was informed it'd only take 5 minutes but each piece took about 10 minutes). Finally, the lighting is very low, so much so that the other folks snapping photos would have their cell phone flashes automatically turn on and it would be blinding. read more

live guitarist was nice :) we would go back for the dessert (chocolate) fondue for sure! i'm not a big fondue person in general the main fondue part, the hot cheese, wasn't something i loved. the waiter was funny. for the cheese flight, they give a very little amount of cheese, and 2 of the cheeses we selected were out anyway. they gave me a little tiny cake for my birthday :) i loved that gesture. read more

Although this was my third time having fondue, this experience was by far the best! It started off perfectly with a delicious spread of bread, fresh fruits, and a rich cheese dip. The salad was crisp and refreshing, and the main course was a feast--tender steak, juicy chicken, and succulent shrimp. It was so filling! And then came the dessert: a sweet array of cherries, strawberries, pineapple, banana, marshmallows, pound cake, churros, and Rice Krispies treats, all ready for dipping. Watching the marshmallow flambé with orange liqueur was such a fun touch! The holiday decor added a festive charm to the entire meal. The only downside was the receptionist, who was a bit rude and unfriendly. Other than that, it was an incredible experience at Geia! read more

Just had my first fondue experience here for restaurant week! We were seated at a cozy corner and the ambiance was definitely very romantic. Our waiter was kind, knowledgeable about the menu and made sure we felt comfortable What we tried: Swiss Gruyère Cheese Fondue: My favorite fondue! Everything tasted great. The pretzel bread and cheese combo was the best Beef Tenderloin with Fresh Sea Scallops Entree: I loved the freedom to cook the items at our own pace. There were also 8 dipping sauces to choose from Dark Belgian Chocolate Fondue: We started off by making smores after the waiter lit the chocolate fondue on fire. Then we dipped a selection of fruits and sweets. Fun way to end the night! We were definitely sugared out in the end Overall, a very interesting experience! This is definitely one of the most romantic restaurants I've been to in Chicago. read more

Perfect date spot - people kept recommending Gejas to me, and now I know why! Pro tip for my veggies: they can give you a second pot of oil to cook in if your partner/party has meat eaters. 10/10 for accommodating dietary restrictions! Dessert melted chocolate was every girl's dream. read more

Stopped by for Friday dinner with a few friends for the first time. We shared two carafes of the white sangria, which was really good. The meal starts with a house salad with a great dressing and the fondue course. The gruyere fondue has a great flavor. My favorite were the assorted bread cubes and apples dipped in the fondue. I ordered The Connoisseur which comes with beef tenderloin, shrimp, and lobster tail. The meat course is served with mixed veggies, including potatoes which are meant to be shared. There are 8 different dipping sauces that accompany the meal. Look at the 'Ask the Community' section of Geja's yelp page for a description of the dipping sauces. It was asked and responded to in Jan. 2023. The dessert course with the chocolate fondue was a great way to end the meal, especially the cubes of rice crispy treats dipped in the chocolate. I love this place! My wife and I have wanted to come here for over 30 years, but for whatever reason we never did...until March 26, 2021 (which also happened to be my birthday). Several weeks prior, we scored tickets to see the Immersive Van Gogh exhibit. We said let's make dinner reservations for Geja's Cafe! We lucked-out getting one of the outdoor fire-pits. It was a cool night, but the fire-pit kept us toasty. We started with the cheese fondue which includes veggies and bread. It was delicious. For my entree, I ordered the International (combination of beef tenderloin, chicken, and shrimp). They coach you up on how to cook everything. They must be good coaches because everything turned out great. Then for dessert we had a chocolate fondue with fruit, pound cake, and other treats. The wait staff was awesome. Everyone was polite and very attentive. What a great experience! We had been to the Melting Pot numerous times, but this place blows the Melting Pot away. Not even a fair comparison. I came here to celebrate my 3 year anniversary and it was such a romantic ambience. I didn't realize I booked the reservation 45 minutes before closing time but the staff did not rush us at all. Amazing service. I'd recommend that you come here HUNGRY because I had a snack beforehand was absolutely stuffed. I ordered the Vegetarian delight. With the fondue dinner, they give you salad first, some cheese with fruits and bread, broth + your protein/veggies, and finally, chocolate with strawberries/marshmallows/etc. The cheese was absolutely to die for. Geja's was hands down one of the most romantic restaurants I've been to in Chicago. The ambience was truly incredible. From the live music to the low lighting and intimate booths I would highly recommend. I was so fun cooking our own meats and each fondue experience was so delicious. My husband and I decided to try this restaurant out as we wanted to try fondue. Upon entering, you are immediately greeted by the hostess who showed us the coat check. After waiting a few minutes, the host sat us. The ambience of this place is dark and romantic. Lighting was dim inside, which makes sense to mask the amount of smoke in there. Our server came and explained safety and rules. Overall he was pleasant yet straightforward. Dinner began with gruyere cheese with a bread and fruit basket, and was positvely a fun experience. For entree, we got what I believed was the continental, which came with beef, chicken, and lobster as well as a side of veggies. Dessert was a smores basket. Overall food was good, and was fun to cook the meats and fish in the oil. My husband and I had a very positive experience here, and would definitely recommend trying this place out for a date night. read more

Geja's is as good as it gets. I hadn't been here in years, but we decided to celebrate Valentine's Day here this year. It was even better than I remembered it. The ambiance is unmatched, No matter where you are seated, it feels intimate and romantic. Especially with us being so decked out for Valentine's Day and the live music is so romantic and lovely. The service is top notch, they were so attentive to us from the moment we walked in all the way until the end. It is such a unique experience coming here and you will leave so full. Every course of food is amazing, every time we thought we couldn't eat anymore, we found room for more because it really is THAT good. Geja's is a restaurant with such a classy and timeless feeling, this will forever be the most romantic place to eat in the city. read more

Food week in Chicago and found this fondue restaurant to be something you don't do often but can be fun and entertaining at your table. Nice cocktail and wine offerings. Coats checked which is a good touch maybe to avoid fires as you dip into your open flame pots of cheese, meats, veggies and chocolate . Each order includes a salad, three courses of various meats with veggies, cheese dip and lucious pot of warm chocolate for dipping fruits, cakes and marshmallows. Provided gf if needed.Can find vegetarian and vegan entrees ( tingle). By the time the dessert arrived, fullness had set in as portions were generous. Found the position of the pots on the table to be too high to carefully cook especially the main course which is cooked in hot oil and might have preferred a cooking broth. The booths are quaint spaces but too enclosed for all the cooking smoke which invariably happens. Service was prompt, polite attentive. Fun place to try but not for young kiddies. read more

This place was genuinely so delicious. I came here for restaurant week 2023 and it was immaculate. The cheese fondue - AMAZING! Then the chicken breast with shrimp was wonderful. It came with plenty of vegetables and our waiter even offered to bring more if we needed them - spoiler alert we did not need anymore veggies since the meat was so delicious and filling ! The night finished with chocolate fondue that came with fruit and desserts to dip. The pound cake had my tastebuds moaning. The ambience was beautiful and the waiter was wonderful. Geja's is hands down the place to go for fondue. It's a Chicago institution. One of the best places to go on a date. The ambiance is cozy and romantic. I actually used to live right across the street many years ago. We order Geja's to go last summer for my daughter's hs graduation meal. Wasn't sure what to expect, but it was delicious. Missed the ambiance and the pots. Still good nonetheless. Since people weren't out and about, we pulled up right in front of the restaurant for pick up. I come here every year around Christmas and it's worth the trip every time. I'd say you definitely need a reservation. I'm sure they take walk ins but it's a smaller place and I'd suggest a reservation. This is much more of an experience than a place like the melting pot. I always get one of the "premier" options where you get a salad, cheese fondue, your choice of meat/veggie, and chocolate fondue. In recent years they added more vegetarian options, which is cool. One difference if you're used to like a melting pot is you cook the meats and veggies in oil. I do wish they had a broth option because the oil starts feeling heavy but since I only go once a year it's worth it. They also had cool "seasonal" cheese and chocolate options this year. There was a garlic cheese (I like the classic better) and a peppermint chocolate (so so so so good). If you go with others you can each choose a different cheese and chocolate option and share to try them both. Overall, worth the trip every year and always fun. read more

A must try experience! The ambiance is romantic with the dimmed lighting and decor. There are some tables/booths with a more private atmosphere tucked in, too. We got the cheese fondue, premier fondue, and the chocolate dessert fondue. Overall, a fun experience cooking your own meat and veggies and dipping in the sauces. The restaurant does leave a lingering smell on your clothes from cooking at your table but to be expected. Would recommend the beef and shrimp ! We didn't love cooking our chicken for fear it'd be underdone, but the waiter did a great job explaining cook times. It is a bit pricy, especially considering they aren't doing a lot of the cooking, but a good experience and atmosphere to make up for it. Our waiter was 10/10, checked in a good amount and was helpful - the hostesses however were extremely rude, on two separate occasions to both me and my friend. We did not experience any smoke, and it does seem that the restaurant is well-ventilated. That said, you will be sitting at a table with open saucepans of boiling cooking oil, and when you get home, your clothes may smell of it.
