This fair is awesome!…read more It's got art of all kinds. Paintings, pottery, jewelry, that awesome photography on metal so the colors stand out, etc. I remember a stall with thin pieces of wood that were carved into things like trees and mountains. They were layered into a beautiful scene, then framed as if it were a painting. Very unique! Something else that I find to be a really charming detail is that each walkway is labeled with a road sign that is named after famous artists. For example, you can tell someone to walk down "Van Gogh" to find a specific stall. It's free admission. There are food trucks, a playground, a beer garden, live music, outdoor AND indoor art displays (it's fun exploring the building)... truly a fun day for art lovers.

It had so many different types of art and everything was professionally rendered by extremely talented artists who are at the top of their art form. I love paintings, sketchings, artfully taken photography and jewelry, and this festival didn't disappoint. It was a challenge controlling myself, but I think I did, however, this is a place that I could easily and happily lose control There was a lot more than wall art. There was; ceramics, clothing, footwear, sculpture in several mediums, yard art, musical instruments and music for sale. It's a cornucopia of juried, diverse, fine art. This isn't a street fair and I'm happy that they got the street fair type vendors out of there. Every year I go and every year I find multiple items that I'd like to take home, this year would've broken the bank if I had just let myself go, but still, I'm happy with my purchases and I'll be back next year.

This VikingFest occurs yearly in May and involves the entire town. The people are kind and the foods are fabulous. We tried 4 different meat pies and can't tell you which we liked best! It was set up perfectly with the carnival and rides set away from the entertainment, craft, and food vendors that were located near the marina, which kept the lines down. We even attended the Lion's fundraiser Pancake Breakfast on Sunday! It was great. Yummy pancakes, eggs, sausage, etc.! All breakfast funds are going towards the Lion's scholarship. (I was a recipient back when I attended college in the Dark Ages, so please help out this group if/when you can!) Highly recommend this festival that runs Friday afternoon through Sunday.

Not only do you get to explore all the little shops in downtown Poulsbo, there are many little vendors set up along the waterfront. They range from the same old people that show up at every festival in Kitsap to people specializing in things like drinking horns. They have a carnival ride area that runs throughout the weekend. On Saturday during the festival there is a parade that is a lot of fun to watch. The "vikings" may not be the most authentic, but it is a lot of fun. There is a viking village where you can learn from the people that staff it and are set up in tents and wearing traditional clothing. The stage is filled with all sorts of entertainment throughout the weekend.

Finding parking will probably take forever to find unless you come early or Uber over here. The lines get long fast so if you come anytime after 12, it might be too late (unless you don't mind waiting of course). The Wow Wow Hawaiian Lemonade line and a couple desserts trucks were the longest, gotta be that summer heat. So good if you're lucky to try it tho! Oh and there's a beer garden if you're just tryna chill out. Tacos = amazing! Sandwiches = amazing! Poke = amazing! Raclette = amazing! Mangonada = amazing! The lines were mostly reasonable being in the middle of the day. There is a map set up in the intersections. Even though there are only 4 blocks of space, there are PLENTY to choose from. For reasons unknown, Block 1 is the most packed, side-by-side, with food tracks. Coincidentally, I also think this block easily had the best food. Based on the crowded foot traffic, others agreed. The organizers need to spread things out better considering there are space in the other blocks. For the food, we chose: 12 Spice or Indonesian Rendang The mushroom topping over turmeric rice was AMAZING!! For such a seemingly simple dish, the flavor is absolutely incredible. Highly recommend. Cost is $8 Alaska Weathervane Scallops We chose two options - mushroom sauce over rice pilaf and over coleslaw, their salad. They also have a taco option. Rice pilaf is the better option by far. Their coleslaw is not remotely refined enough. The scallops are amazing, though! The entrées at $14 are very reasonable. Taco Bahia We had the Nellie - Grilled Salmon tacos at $14. You can request grilled instead of fried. Definitely a better, healthier option. Took pictures but didn't buy Character Cotton Candy - a bunny! Many people paid $8 for the Instagram photo. I just asked to take the picture. LOL

This hurts my heart, it really does…read more You'll need context here so let me take you back twenty plus years when I was just a wee girl visiting with my family. There was no cost to enter and the festival was so big. Being at the huge YMCA building there was so much food, entertainment and booths. Today? It's a quarter of the size, only 10 choices for food and only two were local. Three quarters of the small space was the beer garden. Absolutely ridiculous how big it was. But the worst part, it was a 90 degree day and we couldn't bring in water. After I paid 25 to get in (only to purchase food separately) I had to dump out my water and told to purchase more for 3 bucks a bottle. The area has these haphazard fences that were ugly and dangerous. As I was attempting to get to the food truck one of the raised gates caught my toenail and ripped it clean off. Ouch. No first aid tent though, so the bike medica did what they could but I had to hobble around this tiny place (I had my daughter so we couldn't go in the beer garden and area much too old for the bounce houses) looking off shade to days my rather pricy food. Two stars only because the food was absolutely incredible considering.

Different vendors had different stalls and it was a mix of local-based offerings and larger chains with a location not too far away from the Taste of Edmonds site. We came on the early side and the place was already busy, parking was a little bit of a walk. Prices were a mix, it really depended on what one was looking to get and where from. While it was a lot of people, it was a good type of busy where people were absorbed in the offerings, deciding on what to get and not get, and tasting what they ultimately went with. No one was really prying and the vendors were alert and ready to answer questions. Wait times once the order(s) were placed were on the quicker side.

They did have shuttles but I didn't know about them until after the fact, my problem. It's a $3 admission charge and kids 12 and under are free. The festival is held down at the water in Edmonds near Anthony's and the beach. They have a food court with the typical fair food. There's live entertainment which I didn't see any of except some hula girls behind the stage trying to change clothes as fast as possible. There's a beer and wine garden, but I don't drink so didn't go to that. Also have booths with people selling their various wares. This is a small festival. I don't know if it will be worth the effort to attend again. We saw what we were interested in and done in 30 minutes. No rides or anything like that for adults. I saw it advertised after the fact that they were having hydroplane races, so that would have been cool to see.

Basically, there is street parking on both sides all the way up to the festival and a few places that sell parking. The fam and I have always been lucky and found parking fairly easily. Admission is $3 and the first time I went, I was surprised. I've sort of gotten used to it. Upon entering, you are faced with a maze of vendors. They are often the same folks every year. My kiddo loves the Smith Farms people with their cartons of milk (sometimes they charge for them and sometimes they're free). The usual suspects like Bubble Wands are there. My goal is always to get through the maze of vendors to the entertainment stages and food area. I'm often disappointed by the food and focus on eating terrible desserts (by "terrible," I mean taste good but so bad for my ass). More fat assery on display. Corn on the cob, shave ice, and various forms of ice cream. The kids section has overpriced, contracted slides and bouncy houses staffed by what would appear to be teens. There is a good amount of kids stuff and my kiddo seems to like it. It's not the greatest festival out there but I attend because Seattle festivals are often crowded. I find this one less crowded. I also like going to this one because I end up at the park at the end. It's a beautiful place for kids to run around, to watch ferries going by, and just center before heading back to Seattle.

There are already people signing up for next years event. BunnyCon is the Bunny Bar Hop that you've seen in previous years hosted by David LeClair. I have attended many of his meet up events in the past and he shows that he has years of event experience by the amount of people he can manage and yield as well as communicate and coordinate with the local bars in the area. Because there was such a great turnout of over 1,500 people for this years event, many bars that were on the listed hop areas were overwhelmed with bunnies. I felt it was a successful event and because it is Seattle; many bars were available to take the overflow of bunnies from neighboring restaurants that were on the list. Entertainment was fun and tastefully presented as well as the control of crowd. Even though Sakura-con was going on, parking was still to be had and there were no messy situations (that I know of). Everyone seemed to be respectful and wanting to just have clean fun. I attended from 3pm to midnight and followed the rules to stay fed, hydrated, and well full of energetic fun. Because this is a large festival, the experience is what you make of it. There are all possible options and venues available to choose from as well the whole geographic area of downtown Seattle at your fingertips. it could be as exciting or as boring as you wanted since it was up to you to go further from or closer to the action of BunnyCon as your legs could take you (in case you needed a break from the crowd). Good times. I am a fan! Thanks for the event and memories through the Seattle rain.
