Paintings, pottery, jewelry, that awesome photography on metal so the colors stand out, etc. I remember a stall with thin pieces of wood that were carved into things like trees and mountains. They were layered into a beautiful scene, then framed as if it were a painting. Very unique! Something else that I find to be a really charming detail is that each walkway is labeled with a road sign that is named after famous artists. For example, you can tell someone to walk down "Van Gogh" to find a specific stall. It's free admission. There are food trucks, a playground, a beer garden, live music, outdoor AND indoor art displays (it's fun exploring the building)... truly a fun day for art lovers.

It had so many different types of art and everything was professionally rendered by extremely talented artists who are at the top of their art form. There was; ceramics, clothing, footwear, sculpture in several mediums, yard art, musical instruments and music for sale. It's a cornucopia of juried, diverse, fine art. This isn't a street fair and I'm happy that they got the street fair type vendors out of there. Every year I go and every year I find multiple items that I'd like to take home, this year would've broken the bank if I had just let myself go, but still, I'm happy with my purchases and I'll be back next year.

There was no cost to enter and the festival was so big. Being at the huge YMCA building there was so much food, entertainment and booths. Today? It's a quarter of the size, only 10 choices for food and only two were local. Three quarters of the small space was the beer garden. Absolutely ridiculous how big it was. But the worst part, it was a 90 degree day and we couldn't bring in water. After I paid 25 to get in (only to purchase food separately) I had to dump out my water and told to purchase more for 3 bucks a bottle. The area has these haphazard fences that were ugly and dangerous. As I was attempting to get to the food truck one of the raised gates caught my toenail and ripped it clean off. Ouch. No first aid tent though, so the bike medica did what they could but I had to hobble around this tiny place (I had my daughter so we couldn't go in the beer garden and area much too old for the bounce houses) looking off shade to days my rather pricy food. Different vendors had different stalls and it was a mix of local-based offerings and larger chains with a location not too far away from the Taste of Edmonds site. We came on the early side and the place was already busy, parking was a little bit of a walk. Prices were a mix, it really depended on what one was looking to get and where from. While it was a lot of people, it was a good type of busy where people were absorbed in the offerings, deciding on what to get and not get, and tasting what they ultimately went with. No one was really prying and the vendors were alert and ready to answer questions. Wait times once the order(s) were placed were on the quicker side.

The weather was perfect, there was a hot dog stand on the corner of 5th Av, nice looking collections of cars all over both dosmetic and international cars showing off their beauties. It was an awesome turn out! Along with a good crowd, most shops in the vicinity were open for business. There were plenty of room for snacking and eating even happy hour in some restaurants as well. The best part was being able to speak with some of the cars owners as they shared their past and present experiences, of how their favorite cars came to this beautiful collections. I highly recommend this event if you are a fan of cars collections - old and new. Life is always teaching. I still have so much to learn about everything!

I figured, it sounds okay and wasn't too far away from my house. My goal was to run in and out with hot malasadas in my hand so I could get on with the rest of my day. That's not what happened. When I went grab my hot treats, there was a small area with other food vendors - savory pies, pizzas, frozen custard, that sort of thing. It was hot that day. My family and I decided to hang out for awhile. I think it was the abundant tables set up to eat in the shade that lured us over. After we had a bite to eat, we began walking around. Now, I'm used to seeing craft vendors since I go to a lot of festivals. What I appreciate about this place is that I had not seen most of these vendors before. It was refreshing to see different types of crafts. As far as activities, they have everything from the Phillipine Festival, juried art shows, and performances. My child's favorite thing that day was painting fish (yes, real fish donated by Central Market) and stamping it on paper. Yuck! I think it's gross but kids had a great time! I guess that's all you can ask for. My kiddo also loved one of the photo booths. All-in-all, a nice community art festival.

Going to Edmonds Historical Museum this morning, Saturday 9 November 2024, I could not clearly…read morerecall if I had been before. Walking the museum exhibits, I found I could recall seeing some of the items on display before - I had come with my Grandma Rosemary maybe over 20 years ago to check it all out. My visits have been all around enjoyable experiences. For parking, I went with street parking about one street away. Parking on the streets nearest the museum was limited due to the Edmonds Saturday Market. I arrived a few minutes before opening (9 a.m.) and was eagerly the first patron of the day. I was greeted by a friendly worker who told me a bit about the museum building and an exhibit that was on its opening day, "Voices of Valor", which covered veterans from Snohomish County in various wars. She informed me I was the first patron to see the exhibit. I thought that was cool! Before proceeding into viewing the exhibits, I made my $5 donation at a box near the entrance/exit though later I did note there was a least one other donation box location in case one forgot and/or did not want to be obvious. Uniforms for the veterans varied depending on the war. It was neat to see how the dark blue for World War(s) morphed into dark green for the Vietnam War and mottled tan (Army) and blue (Navy) for the Iraq War. I appreciated the focus on the efforts of local Snohomish County residents during the war, including what role(s) they served in. Information and artifacts were clearly displayed and easy to understand, and were well laid out and straightforward to navigate (in a clockwise direction displays covered more recent wars). Downstairs, the exhibits were straightforward to navigate as well and included an old jail cell that one could enter, a model train station, and a narrated out loud diorama of an old shingle (wood/logging) mill. A second friendly worker was in the basement when I took the elevator to the lower level, she kindly turned the model train on when I got to the Great Northern Railway section. Other displays also helped contribute to my broader understanding of the development of the area and what daily life looked like in the past.

I don't recommend driving out of your way to get here given the risk that it will be closed.

Great place to go for some nature time!…read more Dog friendly and so many little trails to walk and explore. The boardwalk is fun to walk up and down and is ADA accessible. They also sell a large variety of plants! The staff was friendly and knowledgeable. Will definitely be returning!

I don't know if there are more restrooms besides those 2. Nice entrance that gives you the vibe of what's going to be on the other side. They also start show8ng names of yhe plants. They have plenty! You'll walk right through their office or where you can pay for plants. Then you'll decide how to go down: through stairs, a wooden path, or just down hill. There, you can go and try finding 15 fairy doors while looking at all these gorgeous tall trees. Or just walk around the trails admiring the plants and flowers around. Is just a peaceful place. Come and read a book. Take plenty of pictures, and take a seat. Relax. This is truly a hidden gem.
