I looked up my safari browser history and found all these porn sites on here. Also my computer was pretty dirty when they returned it so that's disgusting. I do not recommend this place at all. After replacing my motherboard, why would they need to login, set up a password and the proceed to use my computer to look up tickets and porn? If they had to make sure things fully worked, I would have appreciated a factory reset. So instead I did a factory reset. I suggest anyone that got their items fixed here do the same just in case. Some red flags for sure. -------------------- 3.5 stars - I brought my MacBook to Califix after it suffered water damage, fully expecting it to be a total loss. At first, they weren't sure it could be saved either, but they took the time to take a deeper look--and I really appreciated that. They discovered the motherboard was fried and were able to replace it, which saved me from having to buy a whole new computer. Their team was friendly, professional, and communicative during the repair process. I was told that with a new motherboard, it would be "like a brand new computer," so I assumed setup would reflect that. Unfortunately, when I picked it up, I found out I couldn't even log in--there's a password still on the system, and I was never given one. This has been incredibly frustrating since I can't access my own device. To top it off, I also noticed a chip in the trackpad that wasn't there before. This is one of the reasons small business gets a bad rep. Took my phone on a Monday in and Xavier told me that it should be done by the end of today. Paid full $140 (I was going out of town thursday). Called 4 hrs later before closing and he told me that I would have to pay extra for my finger print scanner to be fixed. Told me it wouldn't be done until Thursday I told him that I didn't need the scanner and he lied to me telling me I couldn't search through my files if it wasn't. Anyone would know the scanner for finger prints doesn't have anything to do with files. So he tells me ok come in Wednesday because he has to get parts. (They don't have parts stocked, I declined the finger reader keep in mind he said by today). When I Arrived Wednesday to get my phone, I came in and my phone wasn't even ready. So one of their other associates (Eric who doesn't work there anymore said that Xavier isn't even a tech and that this place doesn't run properly. Eric then promises me that it would be done by tomorrow before I leave. He tells me again "they don't have the part" he tells me call him in the morning. So I call the next morning an hour before they open and he sounds like he just woke up. I asked about the phone and he said "you can't rush me." I told him he told me to call him and he promised about my phone. He said he'll have it done before 10:30a (flights at 12a). I come in at 1045a and still "no parts." I was pissed off. How long does it take to fix a phone? Other places do it in hours. They told me to come back after my leave. I was angry. Came back following Monday (one week) and Eric quit, and my phone was still in pieces. I asked for my money back, and phone back I was angry and upset. Who takes a whole week for a quick service? Xavier promises me that he will have it fixed. Give him until the end of that day. He made me feel bad saying Eric left and they have all these phones to fix. He said he'll put mine as priority. Instead of the end of the day I gave them until the next because I had a feeling my phone wouldn't be done. ( didn't get a call by end of that day). Next day phone was done but home button was white.
