We had a week in Bar Harbor and this was my favorite spot. Great vibe, love the decor...Colby was the nicest waiter ever...and great lobster roll. My table of 5 tried an assortment of drinks, apps and main dishes. Same price point as other places we ate at. We never did any of the shacks as it was too cold to eat outside. The value at Geddy's was in the combo --you get a small lobster roll, chowder and dessert. Everything we ordered tasted great. I am a purist with lobster but my son did like his jalapeño bacon roll if anyone else is adventurous. I remember to take pics too late and by then the food does not look so pretty. This happens when you travel with a big group.

Meh. Busy/fun vibe but service was super inattentive. It was hard to track our server down for stuff but she was fast to foist the check on us. I picked Geddy's because I was hungry for gluten free pizza. I've been eating gf for 13 years and this was very mediocre. Not enough cheese, not enough sauce, very dry and lacking in flavor. Husband said his pasta with seafood was good. I think I would've been happier with a salad. Don't go here for gf pizza.

Their sign on both stores had remained "closed" each day I drove through town. However, I decided to drive by one last time at noon today on my way back to Boston and THERE WAS A HINT OF LIGHT. I parked, I ran-walked-skipped, and I barged right through those doors thinking to run into either Loren or Shawn. But nay, I was instead greeted by a sweet elderly lady with bright eyes surprised by the sudden intrusion of some random excited Asian dude. "Oh sorry, I'm not really open yet. I hope you don't mind the mess." "ME DON'T CARE." Sasquatch-wannabe-tourist gleefully responds. I came to find out shortly that it was Loren's mom, Grace, and she was definitely a delightful way to end my trip this year. You see, I came to really like this shop last year when I got to extensively talk to both Loren and Shawn during several visits to the shop because they were so fun to banter with. Not only did I receive local tips to the area, I came to really appreciate what they have done here over time through their little business. Their gift bags are printed with Loren's photography and Shawn's paintings! Truly beautiful and different from the other stores in the area. Definitely my favorite gift shop that I've visited so far and will continue to stop by and say hi whenever I'm in the area. Absolutely recommend!

I can remember coming to this shop ever since I was little. The smell of pine, the touristy yet awesome items. Sure, they've got the same stuff that 90% of the other shops have, but something about this store for me is different. They've got every blueberry, Maine, Acadia, and Bar Harbor item you could need - clothes, books, souvenirs, home decor, and more spread out over two floors. I think this store probably has the most stuff out of any store in the downtown Bar Harbor area, but because of the size of the space it's not packed in like at some other shops. Prices are high, the items are touristy, but what do you expect? It's all about the nostalgia for me.

Because the Acadia Corporation is running many stores in Bar Harbor stuff really starts to look the same from store to store but the Acadia Country Store seemed to have a bigger focus on consumables like Stonewall Kitchen jellies and syrups and homemade fudge. Drats, I should have gotten a photo of the fudge display. Anyway, I enjoyed looking at kitchen stuff like cookie cutters and Swedish dish clothes while the hardwood floors quaintly creaked underfoot. I skipped the souvenirs since I'd already perused the same items at many other stores in downtown Bar Harbor.

While searching for a last-minute 4-day weekend birthday trip - the timing seemed to work out to visit Bar Harbor and Acadia. I was here from 30 April - 03 May and loved it. Not everything was open, but enough was open that I was able to explore and see most of what I wanted in Acadia (Cadillac mountain opened ON 30 April so, we were able to drive to the top, park and walk around without a permit/pass before season starts in a few weeks. We hiked Beehive, Jordan Pond, Ocean Path, Homan's Trail and a few other short park and walk items. By far, my favorite was Beehive as it's just scary/steep enough to give you a thrill, gorgeous views. I also loved Homan's trail - easy and short, but beautiful rock work. The ranger also told me that one of the women who originally donated a ton of the land for Acadia and wanted to do so anonymously was last name Homan, so this is honor of her. And what a beautiful trail it is! The visitor's center is small but as always, friendly and helpful rangers who helped me prioritize my must-sees and map out the best use of time/driving to get to everything I wanted to do in two short days. Schooner Point lookout is also an easy/quick stop off before entering one of the park entrances - and a beautiful view of the ocean.
