We asked this builder to take the picture of our home down off his site. He has ignored us, so we decided to write this review. The large grey house with the many dormers, windows, rock walls, and back deck with stone pillars is ours. The entire back deck had to be deconstructed and redone last year due to faulty building and poor construction. The deck was framed wrong and then just added onto after the fact when the defect was pointed out. Due to a bad slope and flashing, water pooled and ran down the walls of the house creating dry rot and mold. It took 3 years to have the problem rectified with insurance delays, witnesses, attorneys, and 10 months of loss of use on our home and patio. This was a HUGE nightmare. There were 9 mos of delays on this house during the original build as well. This builder and his partner were absent during the entire building process except during the framing as they were their own framing company. A ton of things were framed wrong like the front arches, interior arches, windows, tub decks to name a few which all had to be redone. The builder couldn't read the blueprints. Delays, delays, delays and more delays. It took 22 months to build a house they said would get done in 13 mos. Most of the time, they were on other jobs. The first delay was 3 months long as this builder tore down too much of the original house without signed permission from the building inspector. We had to get land use attorneys and variance writers involved after that to proceed with the building after this builder tore the original house down beyond what the plans called for. Then this builder's partner was caught advancing on the construction loan without even purchasing the materials first...a big bank no no. So the bank gave total control for all future advances to the homeowner and bank inspector. Another 3 month delay was caused by the builders' subs who painted too soon after sheet rocking. There was 4 feet of mold all around the house's lower floor. Sheetrock and painting had to be redone and the house had to have drying fans in it for nearly 3 months in the summer of 2004. The builder was caught putting in a cheaper insulation grade after that and was forced to put in what the plans called for. Although the builder promised to finish the punch list items on faulty or undone work, they did not after begging for the last advance. Foolish us, we took them for their word. All in all, with construction delays and then the rebuilding of the back wall and entire back deck, these builders cost us about $200,000 in attorney's fees, expert witness fees, material costs, construction loan finance interest. and loss of use of home. We, obviously, would never recommend this builder. read more
