i paid for yard aeration, but received a half-done service. the tech said he wanted to miss the sprinklers, so he aerated only about 1/2 of the yard . rather than marking the heads with flags and then aerating, he just aerated only 1/2 of the yard. not happy with the service. read more

Signed up for what I was led to believe was monthly service. The first 2 visits were like clockwork, then it was 6 weeks before next visit. During the next gap I started to get a lot of weeds and bare spots in my yard. I had to call and ask for service, at this point it had been 2 months since last service. They apologized and offered a complimentary spraying and they came out within the week. The day after that treatment a team member stopped by and said if the weeds still persist to call in ten days. After ten days the weeds were still present. I called and they said they would send someone out within 5 days for targeted treatment. Two weeks later, no call, no service. I have a large corner lot, I don't think Gecko Green would want their advertisement signage in my yard with all the weeds. But, maybe I'll just do that. read more

Started using Gecko Green in March. I was billed twice. Billed twice again in April. They say they only show payment once for each month. Now, I get charged again in May. Except this time I haven't received any service! Again, they don't show these payments. I called to dispute with my bank, and they say the ACH payment is going to Gecko Green. While this company has great intentions, and you get a strong feeling of that during the sales pitch. Their tech's do not reflect the quality the sales team pitches. I recommend installing cameras on your property to witness what actually occurs. I had requested 2 times to please apply weed control to my yard. Both times the call taker assured me "Your account has been noted and our tech will take care of that". Both times they did not apply weed control. I have a video of a tech not apply weed control, but on my invoice I was told a liquid spot weed control was applied. I never see the tech wearing the "Backpack - spot spray" as indicated on my invoice. If you're interested in paying for a company you have to "audit" their work, then Gecko Green is for you. read more

A sales guys comes to my door. Tells me that they have a $29.99 promotional. I tell him that I didn't want to do a contract, but I was good with a one time application. I told the sales guy that I would probably use them more throughout the year if they did as they promised and perhaps sign on if their service was good. They put me on their schedule. Guy calls me says that he's in the neighborhood and should be at my house in 10 mins. I'm home. I see the Gecko Green drive by my house. I call their office. They said they serviced my house already. I tell them that I think they did the house on the corner. They acknowledge that they made a mistake and said they will service my house the following week. I wait a week. By now I get their bill. I call them and tell them that they have yet to treat my house and since I have the bill I want to ensure that I do not have a contract with them as promised by their sales guy. (I don't tell him this but I am already dissatisfied with their service). Their lead manager tells me that they don't have contracts instead they have a "service plan" and that since I am not taking their service plan that the $29.99 does not apply. ( yeah I know- I'm a stupid customer right). After the long sales pitch on their 6 or 9 month service plans. I tell him I am not interested. I should have read some of the reviews here before I agreeing to anything. Some of other customer experiences sounded too familiar (i.e. pushy salesman wanting credit card info). I will pay this bill and hope that my lawn gets treated at some point and hopefully I didn't get trapped into a 6 or 9 month scam. read more

I will say from my complaint, I did mention it was the only complaint I had ever had with Gecko Green in the three plus years I have used their service and I felt it was substantial enough to give it a review. Having said that, I have discussed the situation with Gecko and they immediately and to my satisfaction rectified the complaint. I have also been given word that if any further problems arise, they will be properly address to my satisfaction as well. I say fair enough and I will continue my relationship with Gecko. In their last visit today, the technician rang the doorbell and when I opened the door, he was standing near without wearing as mask and the wind was blowing straight towards me. After I answered his question, I suggested to him that when he is at the door talking to customers, he should wear a mask. His answer was, "hey man this is America, I do not need to wear a mask". It is another sad case of people making a basic safety issue a political one and also bringing it into their business as well. I escalated, and in summary, the general manager response is they will not change their policy and they will not require their employees to wear a mask when they are at the door talking to the customer. I am stopping my business with them. It is not too much to ask that they take a a simple safety step for the employees to wear a mask for 30 seconds or so, when at the door talking to the customer. John (owner) personally called me today to explain that there was no contract but he will gladly refund me the unexpected service. I took partial responsibility for the misunderstanding of the prepaid agreement and offered to update my review based on our conversation. I have increased my rating not because i got my money back but because I believe John really does care about his customers - even the ones like me who have already moved on. The reason why i'm not giving the full 5 stars is because this situation could have been avoided if his employees had taken the initiative to waive the fee when i reached out to them both times for cancellation due the unexpected service. Big promises zero results..basically did treatments a for nearly an year..but get this on a brand new house fully irrigated with new laid grass and fertilizer..before treatment grass was green but had a weed issue..so we started treatments grass became less green..weeds did start to become a little less..but my giant side corner yard became a eye sore like some thing out of a poverty stricken neighborhood..mean while they tried to sign me up for another treatment cycle that I told them not to do till I spoke with someone..they did anyway and made me pay $108.29 or they was going to put me in collections!? So conclusion..Sad thing is the workers that come out are good people..it's the chemicals they use are not good..and company rips customers off and forcefully treats your yard without consent. We finally went with Gecko green, our technician 'Alex' is a pro and knows his ('CENSORED'). From the beginning - it wasn't "Hey, spray...ok bye". It was a handshake, discussion of the game plan, what all is involved and what is/was expected from us, the home owners. WOW!, 2 years down the road - we have such an enjoyable lawn!! Walking barefoot in Texas lawn's is NOT impossible! We chatted up with Alex today, with our next game plan, backyard area (after big tree removal, how to tackle that ground/area). Wife called them up and one person said they did apply credit, she checked and it didn't happen. Things grew great - like the weeds. Lawn never looked worse since they took over. Ended up treating it myself with the help of some treatment from a friend that owns a ranch.
