Just want to give a shout out to Travis at gearheads. I've had the pleasure of going to gearheads performance for about 2 years now. Not always have I been a paying customer. Some times I just need advise and Travis always makes himself available to answer my questions. I call and he assists over the phone or just random comments on my online posts when I tag people. To me customer service is the key to any business. The thing that brings me back to gearheads is the personal connection to Travis and how he takes time out of his work to interact with customers. I recently got my Roush RS3 back from his shop and this thing will flat run. No doubt he went above and beyond to make the car perform. I see some reviews on here and it really makes me question the owners and how high maintenance they really are. I don't really do reviews unless I feel I'm treated right. Travis never tried to sell me on things that don't work or want me to spend money on things I don't need. To be honest I buy more stuff than my car needs and spend money sometimes I shouldn't on parts that do zero and cause more headaches for my tuner. Travis always gives me his expert opinion that I value. There are lots of shops around the metroplex and I won't talk about them and my experiences but I will say that because of Travis and how he works with me personally it's the only shop I will take my car to for installs and tuning. I have plans to take more of my cars as soon as I get bored with my current build. Travis is by far the best in the DFW business area when it comes to planning a badass build, performing the build, and tuning the build. When all the local competition makes only dyno claims that don't hold up to Travis's track proven results, I'll continue to stick with proven results all day long. I own a an 03 cobra, 91 fox, & two Vettes, Travis has tuned them all. The 03 Cobra laid down 700/700 rwhp/tq (tuned down for the street) on 93 octane, stock lower pulley, no headers, cams, heads, nitrous, or methane; the car is still running ford fuel pumps and cold ass a/c. The 91 fox is turboed with aftermarket block, stock internals, stock cam, and Eldelbrock heads, & laid down 800/865 rwhp/tq (tuned down for the street) on 93 octane. If you want a fast car, don't let your buddy tell you what parts to get for your ride, let Travis. Travis builds epic cars and they perform. read more

Gearheads installed Ford Racing Hot-Rod Cams, JLT CAI, performance spark plugs, lowering springs, and Dyno-Tuned my 2006 GT back in Feb. 2016. Results were better than expected and could not be any happier with Travis and work performed by Gearheads. 5,000 miles later and still happy. In July of 2016, Gearheads re-tuned for 91 Octane gas in preparation for driving car to California to give to Son. After the re-tune, the GT ran great, just not as quick as before. Drove car to California in early August and am still very pleased with everything that Gearheads have done. My Son has had the car for 6-weeks and has not had any issues. Planning to have Gearheads do additional performance work to my 2007 GT/CS with Roush supercharger in October. read more

I love how you can put a review up but the shop cant even respond. Yelp is a joke!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! the derogatory posts are rediculous. Vlad S. comes in knowing that if he makes changes to his car (tuning) he will be charged a flat rate fee. After being charged he gripes about it because it only took 2 min. Next time you go to the doctor or dentist make sure he charges you by the min!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I came into Gearheads to have them take a look into my computer of my Fox Body Mustang to get more insight on what had been done to it and/or what needed to be done. My Mustang had quite a bit of mods and we found out it was all done on a stock computer. The guys at Gearheads recommended a chip with a custom tune which was the best decision I could've made and didn't take long to do it. Travis definitely knows what he is doing! He was more than happy to answer any and all questions and was able to improve drive-ability and produce quite a bit more horsepower and torque. I will definitely return to Gearheads! read more

Travis and the guys at Gearheads Performance are amazing at what they do. I have a F150 5.0 that they installed a Whipple supercharger, upgraded my transmission, and installed full length headers on. Travis discusses many options with me and this was the route that I decided to go. I am overly pleased with the knowledge and the attention to detail that Gearheads put into the installation of my upgraded parts to my truck. I have know Travis for over 6 years he has worked on my 2011 5.0 and my GT 500 and currently doing a Ls 3 Swap in my Chevy C10 truck. I my self was a mechanic for 20 years so there is not to many shops I trust to work on my cars. Matt and his team at Gearhead do the best job out of any tuner for the ecoboost platform. I've tried others on my 3.5 ecoboost and the difference is obvious. if you've got an ecoboost you want a tune for, save yourself the headache and go with Gearhead from day one. read more
