Mind you I had never been here or shopped here before I couldn't believe how gracious they were! Not to mention I had a friendly dog hanging around as I was building the box! So rad! The next time I had to sell some of my gear to pay a bill and the guy working in the gear section could feel my pain and gave me a really solid deal that he really didn't have to! This place is special In Bellingham and the people who work here have to be the best spirited team in any shop around town. In the process, doggie mangled the zipper and chewed a hole in one of the pockets. While at Backcountry Essentials (also in Bellingham) I was reminded of Larrabee Gear Works and gave them a call. I got a quote to fix the zipper that was less than buying another new pack, plus the pack was otherwise in perfect condition and felt wasteful to just buy another one out of convenience. The turnaround was way faster than anticipated and you can't tell there was ever any damage. The repair even included the hole in the pocket. I mean wow. Somewhere I read that my item may be returned in better condition than received. In this case, I can verify that to be true. Seriously, it may be more convenient to buy a new thing, but by doing the environment a solid you're also helping some local folks make a living at their business.

What actually happened was my husband found approximately everything he has ever wanted. Jackets, gear, "ooh look at this" items, suddenly it was less holiday shopping and more Yeagers-sponsored shopping spree for him. And honestly? I'm not mad about it. Because now I know exactly what Santa is bringing him (Great job, Santa. Nailed it.) We did successfully shop for the people we came in for...one lucky person is getting a Yeagers gift card (which honestly feels like a win for everyone).
