They fraudulently sell you a "free" upgrade for 6 months- "just cancel before the end date to go back to your original plan. Absolutely no change in charges." They immediately start charging more for this, then when called they say they have to research and call you back, they don't. I call again, there are no notes of my previous call, same thing all over again. 3rd call - finally taking notes, supposedly, then they are going to finally submit a refund for review...Now I'm waiting for that call back. It's infuriating read more

Our internet stopped working 7/27. I was on hold with tech support for a long time and they said that it was out all over Anchorage. I tried to reach out to the chat folks a few days later but it took over twenty minutes for them to reply and I had to leave. I finally called today 8/13 and was on hold for over an hour. Then they said that our internet was working which when we tried it, it worked. I asked for customer service for a refund on the 2.5 weeks we didn't have service they transferred me around a few times and then out me on hold for over an hour. When someone finally answered it was tech support and when I said that I was looking for a refund they hung up on me. I guess it's time to try Star Link even though I'm not excited about ol' Elon..... read more

From Anchorage, Alaska -- If you enjoy watching your router dumbly blinking its pretty little green lights at you while your Internet lies dead as Julius Caesar sometimes for hours, even most of a day, OFTEN, then GCI is the Internet Service Denier for you. Expect to be off line several times a month. If you enjoy speaking with bored, dour customer service people with accent patois so deep you may need a translator at your side, then GCI is the way to bliss. In fairness, when service is miraculously up and running, it is pretty good. But one "aw crap" wipes the slate clean, remember? Expect many many aw craps if you decide to use their dubious and terribly spotty "service." I wouldn't and do not recommend this outfit for anyone. Find another way. Caveat -- as they say -- emptor. *NB--This review was originally posted under "Gci." Show less read more

They have the WORST customer service of all time. I had to deal with them for DECADES before I moved out of Alaska. Now that I'm out and they owe me money - they can't seem to find ANY way to send it back to me. I swear they could hire monkeys at this company and they would be better off. read more

I was trying to add my wife to my at and t plan and talking for her because english isnt her first language. The indian on the phone within 30 seconds of talking just said you arent the person on the plan im hanging up. How do you get to keep your job if thats how you deal with people at work . Called them back got another lady who was super rude. and unhelpful. I had to make her talk to them even though I was talking right next to her and they could hear her then they had the audacity to get irritated communication wasnt going smoothly They are truly awful people worst customer service they all should be fired. read more

I am so tired of my internet going out not just every now and then, but every day. The last time (yesterday) I was writing a review to send and guess what, I couldn't send it because my internet was out. GCI is the worse. Looking for a way out. read more

Yukon tv is a joke. Get Hulu tv Pay for minimal data stream. Save 100's a month. Yukon tv has sucked for years. I'd give them a few months. But after 2 years. It's clear GCI sellout has sold us out. read more

I did my best to explain what happened over 100' away from my property.... GCI then asked me to sign and accept liability for what Enstar did to the GCI line. GCI offered a more thorough review of my recent service denial if I agree to upgrade my plan. GCI continues to limit contact to verbal phone calls about this issue and will not put anything in writing. GCI continues to leave a service line exposed in the MOA right of way. read more

I get a loading ring on my mobile unlimited internet on my phone it's a circle... I'm switching back to cricket at least they do not lie to you , service is like kumhalla Harris sucks read more

I am very sure I would enjoy bypass surgery more than having GCI and trying to get my internet fixed. Routinely the internet goes down. Usually at the most inconvenient time. Routinely I get cut off when trying to chat with some GCI agent. I've never been called back even though part of the chat process involves giving a return phone number. Calling involves listening to a long winded recitation of no importance until you are ready to scream. Then you get a couple of choices, then to a customer service agent whose main language is certainly not English. The my problem is technical so I'm being transferred. Only the line goes dead. I was cut off. I envisioned the agent hung up on me. Repeat. Finally get through to tech support. Asked to restart the modem. Like I'd never thought of nor tried that several times. But the internet is working on GCI'S end. Oh, wait, after over an hour of the above crap it seems the internet is working on my end as well. Guess I'll get back to work. read more

Trash. Trash Trash. I definitely do not recommend this internet for nobody!!! Way too overpriced!!! Internet is always cutting in and out. My Netflix is still buffing as I write this review. I've never experienced such horrible wifi. read more

GCI is the worst. I called so they could fix my mother-in-law to change to the Yukon TV, which they forced. They did not show up and they did not call and they did not make any excuses. My mother-in-law is an elder and she needed help and quite frankly the first person I talk to you knew elders needed help however they do not care. I do not recommend them. We have choices. read more

This company is TERRIBLE. Use any other option. Billing. Customer Service (RIIIIIGHT). Quality of product. Communication/transparency. One star is too much..... use any other option! read more

After my last review of the GCI on Muldoon, I figured I'd give another store location the opportunity to redeem themselves. I came in (a little irritated mind you) because yet again my basic standard cable box would not turn on. I think the other location gave me a new box but the same charger so I asked the gal to double check and plug it in to make sure it worked before I walked out the store. She was very professional and understanding of my frustration. To make a long story short, I will never go back to the Muldoon location and use this place from now on. read more

I am only writing a 5 star review for Aaron, not for GCI. I came in last week to switch my mom's phone from AT&T to GCI. Aaron did a fantastic job helping me and was very patient as this whole ordeal took at least a half hour. I didn't feel rushed, and he made little jokes the whole time. He even apologized for taking so long when little issues came up from AT&T and accessing code information. I don't really enjoy GCI, but I have to say this company has a quality representative, and I like him so much I would even come out of my way to this store just for his help. read more

GCI - Mobile Phones Near Me - Anchorage, Alaska

Crummy service, didnt show up when they were supposed to, products barely work. Overall a bad quality company.

GCI just made customers take off their hat's because it's store policy. Hmmmm how can they tell people how to dress, especially a woman who just had 5 brain surgeries and took off her hat but kept the hood on not covering her face at all? If a Muslim person walked in what would they do them be sued for being racist? If Muslims domt have to uncover theor head why does GCI make everyone else? Not to mention the young woman who was working the greeting kiosk was rude as hell. Demanding not requesting that paying customers remove their hat's. Horrible for business!!! I will never use GCI again!!!! read more

If I could give a zero rating I would. Their auto pay does NOT work, and never has. I've called 20 times (since I started counting), to set up auto pay and not once has it worked. The online setting doesn't work either. GCI runs a monopoly on this state, and needs to be closed the fuck down permanently. We'd be better with no WIFI than GCI. read more

Wow! I have never been on hold for so long in my life... one hour minimum guys. ONE HOUR MINIMUM! Just to tell me to unplug the router and plug it back in... I'm gonna be paying 170 ish dollars a month for stuff that hasn't worked for almost two weeks!? I think not. Just let me explain this to you guys. I NEVER LEAVE REVIEWS, This is my first. Don't do it. read more

Received excellent service from Kayla at this location today. Been in a few times with phone issues and she suggested it was a sim card problem and offered to swap out the sim card. First time anyone suggested that may be the problem. She answered a few other questions and determined some of the problems were anomalies with my particular phone model. I ended up getting a new phone and better plan. BEST OF ALL...came home called a friend and SHE COULD HEAR ME and we didn't get cut off . read more

It's Saturday night and I have one channel. I pay $239.00 a month and there equipment doesn't work. Change providers? Oh, they are the only provider in town! Fucking awesome. I have lived in Southern California, Northern California, Seattle and I have never had worst customer service or user experience. GCI sucks. They are the worst and there is nothing you can do about it. I would give them zero stars if I had the option. They suck read more

Just spent an hour of my life - most of it on hold just to be told 'I can't help you add a frequent flyer number or discuss your bill ' because I don't know my dead husbands security number......can you tell hw much they care about older customers - looking for options right now direct tv and acs here I come . Was told hold time was long because they don't have enough help - must be treating their employees great huh!! I do not recommend this company what so ever. I called to have my card taken off of my ex-husbands billing account. I was told this was not possible because I am not on the account, however the card is in my name solely, so I am being charged $175 monthly for internet I do not use! read more

Thanks to Cory at customer Service for informing us on paying for something we don't ever use.... we were being charge with 4 tables that they gave to us 3 years ago and said it's all been taken care of but little did we know that when we cancel our service we were still being charge for the numbers we never use... Please don't choice GCI for any of their services it's very misleading and they won't inform you of those important little information!!!! read more

Addition...took me 3 days to get a sim card. Monday 07/26/21 I waited for 45 min. and ended hanging up with no service. On 07/27/21 I used chat and after 1 and 15 no sim card, left my number for a call back, and nobody called back. On 07/28.21 I wasted 45 min. of my time jumping through hoops of fire talking in the Philippines. The worst part? I don't get a customer service survey because it was a "call back" and it's a "new program". If AT & T had better service farther North I would choose them instead. read more

Unbelievably slow service. 3 employees only helping two people at a time. Been waiting 15 minutes and I've been first in line.

Diamond at GCI helped me a lot today. He was very informative and patient with me when I met him today. Although GCI couldn't compete with AT&T's prices and plans, Diamond was very professional today and should be considered for a promotion. Regards, read more

GCI is the worst cable television/internet provider I have ever experienced in my life. As a military retiree, I lived all over the country on assignment and used these services at every duty location. Now retired in Anchorage and having no choice but GCI, I am shown disrespect and a severe lack of courtesy each time I call to report a problem they cause. This morning I called to address a problem involving the reduced cable television service. I spoke with the manager of the call center, Aaron. Because he interrupted me incessantly during the conversation and he was not in any position to address my concerns, I told him I wanted to speak with somebody "up the chain of command". Aaron told me, "that is not going to happen." In other words, the highest level a customer has to address a serious, significant, and continuing problem is the call center manager! Once again I realized that "GCI IS THE WORST CABLE TELEVISION/INTERNET PROVIDER"! read more

Very terrible WIFI, especially for those of us that have unlimited plan paying $174.99 a month!

This is absolutely the worst internet I have ever encountered. We pay 175 a month for unlimited internet and every few minutes it stops and freezes to load for a few minutes. Why am I paying so much for this junk. When we call they say it's our router but we have one of the best routers. So frustrating! read more

Fast internet is all they have going for them they do not take care of their customers are outrageously over priced and very bad polices I was $25 short on my past due balance so they permanently disconnected my service call them back 3 days later and payed all my past due balance and then some so they could turn my internet back on then they tell me after I just payed $170 that I have to pay the whole balance (not past due) and a month worth of service plus a credit check to get my internet turned back on needless to say I told them I am done with them and I am switching to Acs read more

Get to know your employees, anyone that looked at this graveyard spiraling business that gets more complaints than satisfied customers is about to get flushed down the toilet. You obviously need lawyers to tell you how to avoid bankruptcy. You need employees that at least intend to think about what they read or completely fail to read, probably because of extreme drug use. That means David is a Highman never can help at all. read more

My husband and I visited our parents in the lower 48 and my husband unexpectedly went 'swimming' while helping his Dad with a boat lift. His iPhone was (unfortunately) in his pocket, so we went to the GCI store in the Sears mall after we got home to talk about our options. The result? Amazing service, knowledge, friendliness and absolutely 5-star customer service. We also went there previously (which is why we returned to this location) to get some help with an upgrade. Again; same thing. This location is so great and professional. Thank you again!!! read more
