When our (only 2 year old) computer decided to slip into a coma during an update process, we called the Alaska Computer Guy. (This was after an attempt with a visit to Pyramid computer service only to find out the hours posted are not the hours followed. Not a good way to run a business.) An appointment was set up with Glen, (the Alaska Computer Guy) to drop off the computer and the computer was fixed and done the following day. Sweet! We were charged $100 bucks, which at first was a gasp, but the experience was so worth it. Thanks Glen! This guy knows what to do, and takes care of the customer.

HE COULDN'T FIX MY HARD DRIVE - and that's a good thing!…read moreBefore calling JP Technical, I called around other local businesses and they told me they would take the project for a non-refundable down payment. They also couldn't guarantee that the hard drive would be fixed without seeing it in person first, fair enough. But the issue was the non-refundable down payment for a non-guaranteed service. I understand where they're coming from as a business, but as a consumer with a very sentimental hard drive, I'd rather "pay nice than pay twice". So, I called JP Technical, and right after explaining the situation he broke down the problem in a very patient and calm tone. The information he shared wasn't overwhelming. Just THAT conversation helped me understand what happened with my hard drive and what my options are. Unfortunately, He wasn't able to take the project, huge bummer because I definitely would've gone with him instead. He was honest and even shared that NO ONE would be able to take the project in town because of the lack of a clean room. Instead, he recommended a third-party company who I am now working with. I'm leaving this review because this man is honest, he's patient and I would definitely come back to him if needed in the future. Thanks for your recommendation JP and happy holidays!
