With only 5 days notice, I called around and explained why I needed them, asking if it was possible and if they could give the family a discount in price due to hardship. 2 places said No discount and because it was a rush order they were going to charge more. Not Blue Moose! Not only did they give us a discount, but they went out of there way to find us Curtis's favorite 2 colors to make the shirts in. Then to top it off, they designed the banners with the ALASKA state flag in the background designing it themselves with our approval. They worked overtime making all of this happen for us before the start of the Iditarod with a discounted rate to boot. Pity too, we wanted to hire these folks. On Wednesday, a very nice gentleman named Ben came to the house. He was a no nonsense, get to work kind of guy. Quickly assessed all of our possessions and came back with a very reasonable estimate. After we received our final bid on Thursday, we called Ben back, the next morning. He had the day off and will be back on Sunday. Sounded odd. But what do we know about the moving business? We had the woman set our packing date for 11 days later on 8/22, while we waited for Ben to get back to us with more details. Long story short, no return call Sunday or Monday. My wife finally called Ben the next night and he told her that he and I had spoke and set everything up for the 22nd. But he and I never spoke. He's yet to call either of us. I'm not sure why he'd blatantly lie like that but if he isn't honest on a simple call to confirm he'd won the contract, seems to me nothing he said could be trusted. Low price is important. But these are our lifetime memories. Being able to trust the folks moving them is far more important. Here's another thought. They drive the load through Canada. Not the using the barge. Brought a kegerator to get repaired. Knowing at least the compressor was faulty but not sure there…read morewere other issues. Troubleshooting confirmed the compressor was bad and also uncovered a couple other issues. Despite no firm repair time frame, the job was completed within 2 business days, parts were replaced and the machine is 100% quieter running than the original compressor and works great. Highly recommend the company for repair.
