The Nordic Home is midcentury modern, Dwell magazine, Scandinavian cool. Also, I was happily surprised to learn that they turn over their selections fairly quickly--so, I'm now going to make more of an effort to stop by if I'm passing the shop. Their staff is helpful and knowledgable. They care about their customers not just for the 'today sale', but for the long haul relationship. Products: Awesome! Customer Care: Excellent! HIGHLY RECOMMEND.

For my 300th Review, I wanted to save it for a special entry!!!!…read more Last year I drove by a few times, but never went in. Thank god I did yesterday. This place is a TREASURE TROVE. It's more than antiques. Oftentimes, antique hunting will get old (excuse the pun), because you can't see yourself decorating your home with worn stuff, no matter how interesting it looks. At Ozarks, they do a magnificent job of staging the areas with vintage and new to create a modern and romantic look. Wandering through this store is a delight because their furniture and object d'arts are whimsical, flirty, and full of personality. I saw all kinds of styles, from American Colonial, to German, to French, and of course, Italian. They have chandeliers, vases, candle holders, foyer tables, chairs, stained glass, bookcases, wine racks, mirrrors, vanities, and more! The furniture prices can range from $50 to $1000 that I saw; but you see the quality in the craftsmanship, so it's worth the price if it really catches your eye and heart. Be sure to check out their blog, as they update it with new items: http://ozarksalaska.blogspot.com/

We paid $120 for a lamp and then found out later it was part of a $120 set of TWO from Bed Bath & Beyond! When you shop at a boutique, you expect that higher prices mean you're getting something more unique, higher quality, or thoughtfully sourced. Instead, They're reselling mass market items at a 100% markup while presenting them as boutique finds. I think it's wrong to take advantage of customers this way, especially when you're shopping with the expectation that you're paying more for something special or unique. JJ's is that place for me but, having now been multiple times in the last month, I've decided they're too great not to give a shoot out to on Yelp. The selection and quality of the furniture is much better than I've seen elsewhere in town (and my friends' dragged me to every used furniture store in town!). They constantly get new inventory (multiple times a week) and the variety is great: modern, traditional, antique. The furniture is also well-cared for. No tears, gross stains, saggy couches, faded or worn fabric. Some of the wood pieces have scratches but that's what you get when buying used. I think the prices are reasonable for the quality of furniture you get (in the $150-350 range for large pieces like couches, bed frames, dressers; in the $45-100+ range for smaller pieces like side tables, coffee tables, and bookshelves), especially in AK. They post new items on FB regularly, usually with the price, so you get to see a lot of what they get in without even having to go to the store. They are very response to FB messenger communications as well. They will hold items for you for days (in case you fall in love with something but need to come back with a bigger vehicle). They will load the furniture into your car for you. They will also deliver in town for a small fee (I believe like $30), though they only deliver to your door, they don't carry the stuff inside. They will also show you how to put bed frames or any other dismantled furniture together, check that all the hardware is there, and even offer to loan you the right tools if you don't already have them. The guy here is SO nice. It's like buying furniture from a friend. But like a friend who has good taste in furniture and takes really good care of it. Here is a pic of the $300 antique bed frame I bought. Sturdy and stunning. My bank account is glad I don't own a larger truck so I have to pace my purchasing

I did think it was odd that she would only give the adress when I said I was coming down. I mean, the store is called,, JJ furniture, so what's the big secret, anyone can look your name up & find the adress,, it's 2024!! when I got there, her employee showed me a U shaped DARK BROWN sectional.mayree changed the name on the FB , but not the picture, the night before from L shape to U shape. When I asked her about it,, she asked me if I had spy wear!! I thought she was joking as I have that sectional saved,,& I get notifications!! Then the other employees get involved, they all start lying straight to our faces,. I messaged Mayree when I got back, home, explaining what happened, originally she told me nothing was wrong with the couch , mabey that was true for the couch I wanted, but when my Friend sat down on the couch they were trying to pass off to us , he looked at me & said this isn't the couch, I said I know it looks completely different , he said yes & I have a spring up my bum, & he got up quickly. I paid for a lyft down there, then the employees lied to me & then Mayree had the nerve to say I was sending her to many messages, well if she would have given me the adress, not re listed , it after she said it was sold to me, , I wouldn't have sent her any follow up text. I do NOT recommend this place, anyone who will LIE, to you it, is not good business, ESPECIALLY, LIE ABOUT A WHOLE COMPLETELY DIFFERENT, PIECE OF FURNITURE, I GUESS SHE THINKS PPL ARE STUPID!! I have read the reviews, there are alot of bad reviews, so that says EVERYTHING.im going to see if I can post the pics of the 2 different couches,, mayree has the Dark brown 1 posted on Craigslist and the light one posted on FB market both $375. ITS RIDICULOUS,, AND BUYERS BEWARE THE DARK BROWN SECTIONAL HAS A SPRING THAT GOES RIGHT UP UR BUM.
