We came to this café on a whim for breakfast. In light of some of the prior reviews, I want to say that when I was considering ordering a spinach and goat cheese omelette, I asked if they used fresh or frozen spinach. I was told in a pleasant and courteous tone that they only use fresh ingredients. Based on that, I ordered my favorite omelet. My wife had the same. We also ordered coffees and an apple turnover to share. They gave us the apple turnover immediately. It was excellent, and all the ingredients were fresh. I don't care if they came from Publix. The coffee was roasted in the French style, which is not my preferred style, but it was very good. The omelet was delivered about 10 minutes later. I was delighted at the taste, a far cry from the bitter-tasting dish that I had gotten the week before at Calistoga. All in all, this was a great value for our money, and we look forward to coming back. P.S. I prefer the coffee roast style from Northern Europe, such as Germany and Scandinavia, over the French style generally served in Southern Europe. My only complaint is that they did not offer Sweet and Low for the sweetener. They had raw sugar, white sugar and Splenda. I am a diabetic, so all three of those forms of sugar are unacceptable. I got enough sugar in that meal from half the turnover. I do not use Nutrasweet because of its implications for central nervous system damage. read more

I've never been disappointed this much for a long time and paying $10 two pain au chocolat and a brioche not even fresh! What a waste . Not mentioning the antipathy of the person who served us. Today I went to the cafe, I had told many many people how wonderful the pastries were as I had experienced a few times before. I got a raisin roll and scone to go, eagerly waiting to have some coffee with it and enjoy. My raisin roll was stale, the taste was delicious but it was stale. the scone was not very good, it looked better than it tasted. I was very disappointed. Did he give me the older ones, the ones in the back? I was afraid to even put the review in, as I had read a review where the owner was angry about what a person wrote One day I asked the owner baker what was the difference as I had gotten a raisin roll 2 days prior and it did not taste half as delicious as the oneI was eating, at the time, he said his wife was the baker that day. read more

The food is OK, I had the chicken walnut apple sandwich. Just priced a dollar or two over of what it should be. The atmosphere is very nice yet relaxed. My portion was moderate but I'm still hungry. It's really just a pastry shop which I may try next time. So if you're in the area and you just want something sweet and not that hungry (or full) this may be the spot for you. If you want to have a great experience, good coffee and food, don't go here. The owner is the rudest person I have ever ran into in a retail business. He obviously is not behind the counter to serve his customers fresh brewed coffee when they ask for a cappuccino. He prefers to take it from a already brewed pot that has been sitting on a warming tray. The whole point of having a cappuccino machine is to brew it fresh. When I politely asked about my purchase he got very nasty with me. I don't see this place lasting with someone like Pierre barking at his customers. Don't waste your money here... Go to Starbucks! I have to rate this with a star to post it, he doesn't deserve even one star. read more

What a great French find! They have a surprisingly varied menu and an excellent assortment of crepes! The cafe au laid is perfect and their cappuccinos are gorgeous. This French bakery/cafe has changed for the better under the new ownership (over a year now). So friendly and passionate about seeing to it everyone is happy. The almond croissant is fantastic and made on site, not a Costco purchase heated in a microwave. For those of you who remember the guy who used to own it... mr. Mediocre coffee but that is not just their problem, it is a Naples, FL problem-Starbucks needs help too. Decided to give this cafe a try this morning and boy did we pick the right place!! As soon as you enter you are greeted by the sweet buttery aroma of freshly baked pastries. I thought, if it smells this good the best is yet to come. My son ordered the Apple Turnover and the Cappuccino Muffin. I ordered an Almond Pastry (to die for!) and an Apricot Pastry. We weren't able to finish it all but it gave us a sampling. All baked in house. Very friendly (Im guessing husband and wife owned) establishment. They mentioned this cafe was owned previously and thus some of the negative Yelp reviews that they can not have removed because they kept the same name. I did not eat here prior to today. So I don't know about the previous owners or food. However, today we were welcomed by smiling faces, warm hellos and delicious scents coming from the kitchen. Yves and Marie were very efficient and courteous. We had several French dishes along with croissants and pastries to go. The ham and cheese croissant with bechamel sauce was divine. The croissants are so flaky and moist. I will absolutely be returning. It's between stein mart and some home store on the corner. The gelato next door at Cecibonne is yummy too. read more

Delicious. Our family visits Naples during the first week of January almost every year. A couple years ago we found this wonderful cafe. My favorite is the baguette with ham and brie. Awesome food, friendly staff, and Pierre was very sweet and helpful. I stumbled upon this cafe for lunch one afternoon while visiting in Naples. I had their Paris-Normandy sandwich. It was delicious. I was flying home the next morning, so I decided I would stop for breakfast and get a sandwich to go for the flight. Pierre was very apologetic that it would take some time to prepare my breakfast croissant. He suggested I call ahead next time I have a flight to catch, and he would have my order ready. So considerate! The atmosphere took me back to a vacation my husband and I spent in Nice. Next time I visit Naples, I will be eating many meals here! Yum! read more

After writing my review, which I stand by, the owner wrote me back, which is posted. I was quite impressed. Even though he was grouchy, it didn't stop me from continuing to go there. His explanation of his prices and his apology really made me appreciate how hard it must be to run a good business in Naples. I love this place! I go almost every Saturday morning for the almond croissant. It is TO DIE FOR. Some people here said they got ham and cheese and sandwiches. WTF. Why would you get a ham and cheese from this place? Why don't you go to a steakhouse and order fish while you're at it. This is a french bakery, order a pastry. While I have witnessed the owner being rude to the sweet girl at the counter and a bit of an asshole to customers, I have also seen him mingle with customers and even give free samples of Madelines. Went for the good coffee and ended up having fabulous eggs for breakfast! Several versions of eggs benedict on the menu. I chose florentine. My daughter had hers with smoked salmon. Flavor and texture were amazing. Fluffy and filling. Served with a side salad that nicely helped offset the richness of the Hollandaise sauce. I had been trying to order croissants for a breakfast clientmeeting with a 15 person team and tried a different well known local bakery who would never answer the phone and didn't reply. Went on the search for a different place and found this cafe. The woman who answered, who was obviously French, was SO helpful. Once I picked up the order the next morning, I was even more thrilled - the croissants and food were AMAZING. I had a florentine breakfast sandwich and loved the side salad. The dijon dressing was light and flavorful. I'm so glad the other place had horrible customer service or I never would have found this little gem. All of the stuffed croissants were amazing but my personal fave is the apricot turnover. I have already referred this cafe to a dozen people. Love this place. I've never had a bad thing and I've been through a good portion of the menu and most pastries/desserts. I met people from France here and they said the food was "just like home." Also, the best espresso! The atmosphere is lovely and nice to hear people speaking French. They also have indoor and outdoor seating (it is a parking lot view but, it is arranged in a way that you do not notice). You can actually have a conversation even when it's crowded, good acoustics. You must order at the counter but, they bring food to your table. Why is it that customers tend to not tip with this set up? I feel they should be tipped just as well as they work harder than most servers in a restaurant while cooking and delivering food to tables. The cashier is taking orders, making espresso drinks and serving pastry from the case. Dishes are cleared by all staff. They are pretty timely but, if you are in a hurry this is not the place. However, they do not rush you out like a lot of restaurants. I have stayed here for hours catching up with friends and the staff is always friendly and smiling. I'm here 2-3 times per week! read more
