So I wanted an egg white omelette and they would not do it. I ordered sausage in my omelette and they use hot dogs as sausage. We asked one of the servers Issac about the sausage v. Hot dog and he was rude and demeaning. There is no service you order and are given a number and foot is brought to your table. There's no follow up. We wanted hot sauce, more coffee and couldn't order second mimosas without going through a long line again. This is a good grab and go before the beach. Not a restaurant. And it is rather expensive. Loved the quaint French atmosphere of Grain de Cafe. Wonderful selection of baked goods and pastries. We decided on two muffins and the baguette with ham and Brie. We also ordered two lattes, which were perfect! The food was fresh with a balance of flavor. The only improvement could be with their service. The person at the register did not interact with us even while ordering which was off putting for our first experience here. I always order this for daughter and this time no side salad was included and when I asked was told I can pay for it. While the food is good they are wildly cheap not including that or jam is extra and not carryout plasticware. With high prices such as the $22 for this you should include this along with not offering any vegan options for family. Suggested vegan croissants and told no not tradition. Travel to France and they offer numerous vegan bakeries and options because it's compassionate to animals and for the environment we need to move in this direction. Wish they were even slightly open to change. Sorry but hard pass on this place going forward. Don't mind high prices but don't be miserly with your customer's. read more

Lovely bakery! The almond croissant was flavorful and flaky. The staff was friendly and polite.

Their bakery goods are awesome. However the cafe au laits and cappuccinos do not taste like they are made with espresso--more like just strong coffee and milk. Always disappointing if you are expecting a real one. Also, meal portions can be disappointingly small. But service is good to delightful and ambiance is OK, modestly French. Outside seating, however, is next to a road and a parking lot. But totally worth it for those croissants, pains au chocolate, (!) apricot, and almond croissants. And many other, some quite beautiful, bakery items. Remember, they are closed on Tuesdays!! read more

The experience here was fine - I will say the coffee was absolutely delicious. The place is extremely cramped, and obviously is packed on a Saturday morning - if it wasn't raining it would have been a bit better since we could sit outside. They shoved tables in next to stacks of old pillow cushions, pastry racks, etc. The girl who took our order at the register was nice - but literally everyone else was extremely rude to us. They messed up two of our orders, and then we're extremely rude about it when we just asked if they could bring us extra on the side (i.e we got an iced coffee with cream, they didn't put cream and when we asked if they could bring us some cream on the side they rolled their eyes). Otherwise, the food was just okay - I probably would have liked it better if I did takeout. I would go back for the coffee though. read more

Enjoyed a lovely lunch of an omelette made to order and a glass of rose. Loved the side salad with crisp lettuce and tangy dressing. Great flavors on all. Lingered awhile and savored a cappuccino and tasty pastry. The woman that seems to be the owner is charming and keeps busy; always tidying up. Her staff could step it up by smiling and checking on refills, clearing plates, esp. when it's not busy as she seems to be doing everything herself. The decor is peaceful and inviting. There was an odd incessant squeaking (fridge/dishwasher screw loose) noise that was reminiscent of nails on a chalkboard. Easily rectified by shifting seats or dining outside. I really want to leave a good review but simply cannot. The food was NOT good. I have had better food value and quality from a vending machine. I ordered the Eggs Bennidict with ham. The ham was thin and looked as if it came from a prepackaged container bought at a grocery store. The Holidaise sauce tasted like a packaged powered mix also from a grocery store. For approximately $13 I would expect to get a side but no, nothing, unless I paid an additional $2-$4 for a fruit cup or small side salad. I could have made a better version of it myself at home. The staff was rude and gave my wife side eye when interacting with her while she ordered. Not good and will never eat here again - EVER! Oh, and you order at the counter. Then to add insult to injury they expect a 'standard' tip of 20 percent. NO JOKE, only it really is a joke! read more

Cute atmosphere. The food was subpar. French ham sandwich hardly any butter on it. It was very dry. Side salad was leaf lettuce that was "rusty". My spouse had Croque Monsieur. One thin piece of ham and a small amount of béchamel on the bread"dry". His side salad was also " rusty". Service was paralyzingly slow for off season. Wonderful food and service. Today I enjoyed the soup of the day and a cappucino. I have a medical condition called dysphagia which prevents me from eating foods unless they are pureed. The Grain de Cafe gets 4 stars based on the experience if nothing else. We're in town on vacation - my parents and brother's family (partial) and me. So my niece is with us, a middle school French teacher who LOVES everything French and France. So after determining that the owners of the Cafe were French - paired with the French menu - it was a given that we would eat breakfast here frequently. Their first trip was without me. But when they told me about it, I stopped in that afternoon for an iced coffee - something to quench my thirst at the halfway point of my walk. The drink was a little highly priced, but excellent coffee. We returned this morning, my brother, S-I-L, niece and me. I just got a coffee, they ordered the bread baskets and a scone. Again, the prices seemed high, but we're on vacation, right. The quality of the coffee was excellent. However, do no expect free refills. The bread basket came with French bread, a croissant, and chocolate filled pasty. Jelly and butter for the breads. The blueberry scone looked really good - lots of blueberries and nice crisp sugary finish (I tasted a tiny bite). My niece was able to speak to both owners when the business slowed down a bit. They were very friendly and my niece enjoyed practicing her French with them. They will return again tomorrow - I will not. Fun to experience once, but no need to repeat for me. read more

Crepes were super thin, barely any fruit. I ordered a lot to try it all out and it was not worth my money. Butter croissant and their chocolate one: both cold. Strawberry cream cheese was good. Oatmeal cookie, cold and basic. Avocado toast, literally I could've made it so much better myself, but I love trying new places once in a while with friends. Even the little girl that joined us rated them at 3/10 and she had their crepes and a sandwich. Her sandwich had old looking dry bacon with an egg. My ham sandwich had the thinnest single slice of ham with egg. My partner and the little girl's dad had the French toast with egg and they rated it 1/10 & 2/10. This was 4 people's opinions. This is a small French cafe tucked away in the corner of a Publix plaza serving exceptionally good pastries. The quiche Lorraine was prepared perfectly flaky on the outside and warm & fluffy on the inside. All the eclairs were very good, though their chocolate eclair surpassed the coffee & vanilla, in my opinion. It's made traditional French style (with a chocolate mousse, not cream, on the inside) & was silky smooth. The macarons are all so soft & airy they basically melt in your mouth. Had the pistachio & chocolate, vanilla & cherry, lemon & raspberry, hazelnut & caramel, and tiramisu & coffee. The hazelnut caramel tasted like a salted caramel to me, nonetheless, very good. The chocolate pistachio & lemon raspberry flavors were outstanding. The almond croissant, though somewhat of an American concoction, is INCREDIBLE & their top seller according to the very helpful & very friendly owner. read more

What an Adorable French cafe!! It's tucked away in the Stein Mart plaza off 41. Look for the pink cushion chairs outside and you're there. I knew what I wanted when I walked in, but when I saw all the different and beautiful pastries in front of me, I definitely was stuck with being an indecisive customer. I ended up getting a little of everything because everything looked sooo good! I ordered a black cherry and a apricot danish. Both were made with real fruit and were absolutely delicious. My experience at Grain de Cafe was utterly disappointing and uncomfortable. While dining with my family, including a 3-year-old child, we were subjected to the owner, Anne, yelling and belittling us in front of the entire restaurant. It was not only embarrassing but completely uncalled for. Dining out should be a pleasant experience, but Anne's behavior made it anything but- if it wasn't for your customers you wouldn't be in business. It says a lot for the other waitstaff to come up multiple times and apologize for her behavior. I wouldn't recommend this establishment to anyone, and advise everyone to steer clear. read more

The place had quite a few patrons at tables and the counter had a pretty continuous line while we were there. Could tell they have a lot of regulars, which says a lot.
