Cod half order meal
Isaac R.

Cod was good size. Service not bad at all and nice. VERY SKIMPY ON THE CHIPS. Don't know why they would do this when it's the cheapest option to make. Also have fubo which means NO NBC/USA = no premier league for most part. Very dissapointing for a Britain place 3/5

Tried GB Fish & Chips after hearing a lot of hype, but it didn't really land for me. The food was very mid -- the fish and fries lacked seasoning and overall flavor. Service-wise, the wait was longer than expected, especially for a fairly straightforward order. By the time the food came out, it just didn't feel worth it. I hate to say it, but I've had more flavorful fish and chips elsewhere for less. Might work for some, but personally this one missed the mark.

First time trying GB fish & chips and we were pleasantly surprised. Best fish & chips we've had in Colorado. Fish was excellent and service was very friendly. We will definitely be back.

Fish (cod) and chips

Good spot for fish and chips. It is a pretty simple concept, and I like that it is a fairly simple menu with everything made to order. The location was clean, easy to figure out the ordering process, and had friendly / good service. I got the fish (cod) and chips. I thought the fish (and the batter) were excellent. The fries were good too, and I thought that the style of fry complimented the fish well. I left feeling full and that it was a good value. I would return if I was in the mood for fish and chips or in the area. One wish would be for silverware. There were only plastic forks and knives available. It would have been nice to have metal silverware as I was sitting down there to eat.

This place has better fish and chips than London, stat! Whether you're a solo diner or hanging out with friends, you'll be impressed by the food. The batter on the fish is soooooooo light yet it's still crispy and maintains the shape and curve around the filet, it's incredible! I'd be happy with just the fries and cod but hubby got the combo. I remember enjoying the other seafood. Wouldn't doubt if needing another serving of the tartar sauce because it's so delicious! Wash everything down with a clam chowder, it's a must try! We came with friends and stayed to play some darts. GB's has got the fun elements of a club minus the noise. You'll be well taken care of here, the staff is so personable and they know their menu, which was a big plus if you end up having to ask for recommendations! Love GB Fish & Chips!!!

I passed this place a few weeks ago and told myself I had to stop by. The name caught my attention. The staff were pretty helpful and knowledgeable on the recommendations. They had games for families to play at the table and a nice outside table section it's right across the street from the water so I know it's a vibe in the spring and summer time. I substituted the scallops for oysters for the combination meal. I have to say this place brought me back to the "Long John Silver" days as a child but it was much more flavorful and the sauces were excellent. The drinks were more refreshing than they were strong. Next time I would recommend a double shot. The dessert was ok. The cheesecake had an orange flavored base to it that I wasn't too hyped about but I added the caramel from the bread pudding and that gave it more flavor. All in all I give this place a 8.2/10 I'll definitely be back!

The best CURRY SAUCE I have ever had! Growing up in England, fish and chips was a Friday night tradition especially with my grandparents- finding good fish & chips is hard here, but when we made the move from california to colorado- some friends recommended this place! The best fish and chips I have found here in the States! So delicious! Also the newspaper having a nod to Warrington was a huge plus for me considering that is where I was born! We actually did a DoorDash order and the fact that the food tasted so fresh and hot was a huge plus, cannot wait to visit in person!!!!

Great food, great service and great atmosphere! If you love fish and chips or clam chowder then this is a place you need to check out. Light crispy batter on the fish is perfect and they have pretty decent size portions. The only thing is the fish is a little expensive, but they do have different fish options and deals on certain days. I will definitely be back!

The food was good and I like that they keep things simple: order at the counter and pick up. There are also some alcoholic options with the food so that's great although this place doesn't look or feel like a pub. Comparing the fish and chips in the UK, the food is slightly different, for example the fish chunks in the UK are much bigger and the sides are different but overall I liked this place.

Building opposite Sloan's Lake

First time at this location on Sheridan Blvd opposite Sloan's Lake in Edgewater. This location is larger than the S Broadway place. They have plenty of parking. Lots of picnic tables on the south and east sides for al fresco dining. There is a full bar! They offer daily specials. I came for an half order of fried cod (3 pieces) + ice tea. The iced tea had just been brewed. Nice hot fish with plenty of condiments. I sprinkled my fish with lemon juice and malt vinegar. I skipped the tartR sauce. Quite good for a snack. I ordered at the counter. The person said my order would be ready in 7 minutes and he was right.

Cod fish.

Did not disappoint. These people do fish and chips and the serving size was worth enormous. I got a full plate serving of the cod and it was made after I ordered it and came out very fast. Ambience was ok, nothing crazy but I was there for the food and it was on point.

Tried this place for the first time and it did not disappoint! Every time I walk at Sloans Lake I always think to myself that I want to try the fish and chips place one day. My friends and I decided to go after a Sloans Lake walk. I got the Cod half meal which came with 3 pieces of fish, fries, and a drink. It was a good portion of food for a half meal and I was super full after. The fish was cooked perfectly and super crispy! I was amazed how fresh the fish was for being in Colorado. I will be coming back!

Fish and chips with a view
Deanna S.

Honestly probably the best fish and chips I've ever had outside San Diego. The crisp was a perfect fry. I couldn't even begin to eat the whole thing so I got a to go box and to my surprise after throwing it in the air fryer it crisped back up to perfection. This will be added to my list to eat if not every week, every other week! And the outside over looks Sloan lake so it's like the best view ever

The full portion of fish and chips. Could probably feed two!

It's such a classy restaurant and all the staff are very polite and knowledgeable on their menu. I love the elegance of this place, it's nice to not feel like you're in Colorado all the time. Raw Oysters: they have an amazingly fresh selection of small to large oysters which I love. They have good accompaniments with them as well. 10/10 Oyster Rockefeller: Personally I don't think the fennel works with them because it takes away from the natural oyster taste. 5/10 Grilled Octopus: Such a well rounded dish! The sides go perfect with the octopus. They also cooked it perfectly, I highly recommend this. 10/10 Fish Tacos: Again, their seafood for a land locked state is excellent! If you're a fish taco person you need to get this. 10/10 Clam Chowder: Another must get at Water grill, so tasty and they elevate it. 10/10 House Rolls: They are no longer free nor are they sourdough so it's honestly not worth it. 3/10 Mocktails: So tasty and done without truly being on the menu! 10/10

Before dinner, I happened to be at the High Times Dispensary across the street, which overlooks Water Grill. When I mentioned to my budtender that I planned to eat there afterward, he told me he sees fresh seafood deliveries arriving every morning. That only increased my confidence and excitement about the meal. I started with a dozen Baywater Sweet oysters from Hood Canal, Washington. They were outstanding: fresh, flavorful, and perfectly sized. Not overly large or difficult to eat, just clean, delicious oysters that showcased their quality. For my entrée, I ordered the halibut, and all I can say is wow. Just take a look at the photo. It was beautifully prepared, incredibly flavorful, and absolutely worth ordering. The only reason I'm not giving Water Grill a full five stars is that the service was a bit slower than expected. That said, the food itself was easily five-star quality. I still had a fantastic dining experience. The cocktails were excellent, and there were plenty of TVs throughout the restaurant, making it a great spot to catch the Broncos game while I was in town. Overall, I had a great time and would definitely return. Rating: 4/5 Stars

We splurged and ordered two of the Chef's Set, one for each of us. It's a decadent chef selection of 6 pieces of nigiri, chef's choice of a temaki roll and snow crab miso soup. It was so very good and presented beautifully. I appreciated that things came out at a good pace, not all at once and not too long in between plates. It was cool to see the sushi chef's making everyone's dishes in the middle of us all - we sat in a rectangular bar arrangement, with the chef's and wait staff areas in the middle. Thinking about that, you have a wonderful view of everything - and I was impressed that everything was very clean and tidy. It was food and people watching for everyone, lol, while also being very intimate. Our Chef Selection included several standouts that blew us away: the Aburi Chutoro Fatty Tuna with cavalier, Spicy Salmon Temaki and their Aburi A5 Wagyu (omg). We shared their sweet potato cheesecake which was lovely, super creamy and a wonderful melding of sweet potato with the cheesecake. Staff were wonderful and took great care of us. The chefs were also very cool to watch in action - all business, incredibly focused and always busy. What a lovely place as well. I loved the intimate nature of the seating, even though we were all seated around the chefs. The decor was minimal but really well done. The team moved people in and out well, a testament to their reservation system. We really enjoyed everything. Definitely worth going!
