Juancho’s BBQ - Pluma iberian pork - heavenly

We were there without much expectation but extremely impressed by their service and what they served. There was no menu in English but the staff explained to us in details. Actually if you don't understand Spanish like us, it would be kind of difficult to order in the food court. We tried the PLUMA and LA TRUFADA. The wait wasn't too bad about 20-25 minutes after we ordered and it was totally worth it. The PLUMA was well-cooked, soft inside and immediately melt in your month when you have it. The patty in LA TRUFADA was super juicy and great matched with brioche bun. The meals were also served with grilled potatoes which were amazingly creamy and tasty. My husband and I were so satisfied and decided to visit again for lunch before our flight back to New York. We highly recommend travelers to give them a chance to try their burger and BBQ.

Arguably the best burger in Madrid and potentially all of Europe (or even the world if you are…read morebold). Located in a food court in Mercado Chamberí this food stall is truly a temple of meat. The folks here bring a true passion for sourcing the best ingredients and preparing them a traditional way. Cooked over wood on a traditional parilla, they prepare a variety of high-end Spanish beef and pork dishes. Think Rubia Gallega steaks (prized beef) and interesting ibérico pork cuts. Heavenly! While the burger (made with Rubia Gallega beef) is incredible, don't sleep on the Pluma if you like pork. This may be the single best bite of an animal I have had in my life anywhere in the world (challenged only by some incredible sushi). Go here and be prepared for a religious experience! They have great wine too

My husband & I arrived in Madrid from Seville via the rail station. When we arrived at our hotel…read morethey said it was too early for us to get checked into a room, as it wasn't ready yet. We looked on Yelp for some food suggestions, & my husband made note of Steak Burger place as we were being driven to our hotel. It had some nice reviews, so we thought we'd give it a try. As soon as we walked in, I said "yum" it smelled amazing inside the restaurant!! We were immediately seated at a comfy table for 2, & given a UPC code to look up their full menu. We decided on a steak burger with bacon & cheese. We chose the smallest of the three options, it was more than enough to fill both of us up. It was delicious!! I looked at my husband & said "this is the best beef we've had since we left home (8 weeks ago!)". We've been through 7 other countries since we departed on 5/1/25. The bacon cheeseburger came with fries & they were crispy, yet tender on the inside. After we finished, our waiter (who made sure we had what we needed, but didn't fuss over us) asked if we wanted dessert. My hubby said "what do you have". When our waiter mentioned cheesecake, my husbands eyes lit up & so we ordered their cheesecake. It was one of the largest slices we have ever been served out at a restaurant. It had raspberry crumbles on top of it (I would have preferred chocolate, because what doesn't go with chocolate???). My husband probably would have chosen fresh strawberries on top, but he thoroughly enjoyed the raspberry crumbles. All in all it was a very delicious meal for about 28 euros (not too bad). It was a lively atmosphere, so if you want peace & quiet, it's not the place for you. We split everything we ordered, & we both left quite full. My only negative comment (which may not bother some people) is: Of all of the places we've had meals at over the last 8 weeks in Europe, this one was the most like US restaurants in that they want to turn tables as quickly as possible. They were swamped (we were seated immediately which was a plus for us) but I saw a woman approach our waiter about getting a table in this very busy restaurant, & not long after that, the same waiter approached a couple next to us & within minutes the couple were moved to a table near the rear of the restaurant. The lady who had approached our waiter & her 2 friends were seated at that now vacant table. Shortly after that, a young guy sitting at a high top bar looking table, by himself, was moved to somewhere else in the restaurant & 3 young ladies ended up with his original table. As we were leaving I noticed the three young ladies moving. Another couple was standing near our table, were apparently waiting to be seated, & I assume they were seated at our table before we reached the door to exit. In my opinion, It was a lot of shuffling, but I guess it turns more tables & makes the owner/manager group happy. As we finished with items it they were quickly removed from our table, which also expedites the clearing of tables & makes it quicker to seat new people, thus turning more money. I really liked the idea of your table is yours until you decide you don't want it anymore, everywhere else in Europe.

The food is great. Super slow service. The one female staff server is good but they have her doing…read moreall the jobs. She's the waitress, the table cleaner, and the bartender. It's too much for one person while three other people- no uniformity, just walking around with credit card machine and not helpful. The cleanliness could be better. They need better management as the revenue can probably go up about 50% more. certainly under staffed, they could use two bartenders and two more bus boys and one more waiter. Vacant down stairs level is unused/ vacant. Waste of space when 20-30 more people could sit. The overworked waitress just left in the middle of a rush because she got yelled at by her boss to work harder and no one was helping her. Not coming back. And our 3 mojitos ...was basically lemonade w mint and ice, sour as sh*t w no alcohol. The manager was giving excuses of "shift change". (apparently reviews from a year ago also say their excuse was/is shift change) It's not the shift change problem, it's the management problem. What he really has is a lack of ability to run this restaurant smoothly. They need more staff, waiters, and bartenders. The only reason why they're staying alive is because they are on a busy street and unsuspecting tourists don't know better.

Lucky we came across this gem. It was such a great place. Our waitress was phenomenal (thank you…read moreDaniela). We ordered the pollo a la parilla and it was made to perfection!! Finger licking good, although we used our utensils, but you get the point. It came with a green salad and baked potato but I opted for French fries. Dessert was also delicious. A chocolate chip cookie with some vanilla ice cream! Yum! This is a must try when in Madrid! Ciao from NY! =)

The initial service was good, I ordered the BBQ burger without cheese medium rare. Besides the Monterey Jack cheese that I skipped, it's supposed to have BBQ sauce, bacon, grilled onions, & lettuce. The burger was delivered medium well, the bacon was skimpy, and grilled onions were raw. I'm not sure if it was because of being overlooked, the burger was tasteless, the small amount of bacon, and BBQ sauce were lost, all the came through were the onions, which I removed, in an effort to taste the meat. It was a hot day in Madrid, so I ordered more water when the burger arrived, it arrived well after it was finished. As a former restaurant manager, I watched the three waiters leave the service counter empty handed five times while a waited. The service in Spain is very good, so this is not a cultural thing. In conclusion, Spanish beef is good, so don't be nervous about trying a Spanish burger joint, just not this one!
