Very nice elegant restaurant right in the city center of Liverpool. The restaurant hall is quite…read morelarge, and ceilings are quite high, which means it's not too noisy and great for acoustics if there is a band playing (like it was the evening we were there). The menu is quite extensive, on top of that they are very happy to show you the meat cuts on a small table that is wheeled right to your table. We thoroughly enjoyed starters, mains and dessert. Our waiter was very friendly and happy to advise and check our questions about food with the chef if he didn't know the answer. The food was just heavenly! I would love to come back.

Generally, you can save 25% off food with Gourmet Society membership but this offer takes it further. Inside, the decor is fantastic being set in an old Methodist Church just off Deansgate, accessed via a ramp with a very steep gradient or a large step. The inside area is a stunning old building, decorated with cow print. The cocktail menu was rather expensive, they also didn't have anything basic and seemed to have weird, wacky cocktails which I really didn't fancy, standard spirits and mixers were also rather expensive too. I didn't end up going for a cocktail in the end - one of the best places in the city for a cocktail has to be the Hard Rock Cafe, a 70cl cocktail and a collectable glass for under £13 meant I'd head thereafter for some booze before heading home - the selection here didn't cut it for me. Although known for their steak offerings, I opted for the Spatchcock Chicken. I did enjoy the flavours of the chicken although the leg piece didn't have a lot of meat on, I really enjoyed the breast part - I just wish it would have been more breast. The flavours, spices and sauces were good but I still think it didn't represent value for money at all, this dish alone was £18 without any sides! For sides, I decided to opt for chips/fries, at £5 a portion I expected them to be good, but they just weren't. I found them to be poorly seasoned as well as a little overcooked and soggy, for such a price you'd expect them to be good, fresh chips when in all honestly I've pulled out better fries from my freezer at a fraction of the cost, this meant although I did enjoy a half of my chicken, it didn't cut it as nothing went with it. Considering they only have one lot of chips, there's nothing which would go with steak either, who wants steak and mash? All the staff seemed friendly, with the exception of my waitress who seemed more like an angry mother, who seemed to treat me and my party like a child, for example forcing us to use the menu as a placemat for our food. I also found it a shame to see they were unable to adapt dishes, now this is fine dining, a high-end place with mains costing at least £18 and some items going up towards the £100 mark, a place like this being unable to adapt dishes is truly dissapointing especially for the price mark, they were unable to remove sauces etc as it came "pre-marinated" in many cases. My server also seemed a little rude and easily confused, for example, she couldn't understand when my friend ordered a starter as a main course which was down to the fact he didn't want anything with spices on, as every dish came pre-marinated other than the steak. She did get there in the end, but even that was a struggle. There was also a long wait for food, it at one point felt like I'd never get my food which was quite frustrating as well. They didn't seem overly busy and it didn't seem like anything the large open kitchen couldn't handle either. They do have gluten-free labelled on the menu and do have a few choices, sadly their gluten-free bread is seeded bread which I hate (I wish everywhere didn't put seeds in bread as it ruins it!), also there were no gluten-free starters on the menu which again was dissapointing. Do bear in mind also that this place has a rather high service-charge at 12.5% regardless of how many people are dining, this is also applied before any discounts so even though our group of 3 saved £10 per person, this amount was also subject to the service charge, so that alone worked out close to £9. Considering the long wait for food and the attitude of my server, I don't understand the justification behind that by any means. A high-end place which doesn't live up to the price tag, some good flavours in the chicken and nice decor warrant an extra star but I won't be rushing back to this place. 2*

Side roasted root vegetables were quite odd - for my tastes they were too hard, a little dry and not sweet enough. Unusual because I find generally that's a reliable choice in a restaurant. My friend loved her fajitas and they were totally cool with swapping her guacamole for extra sour cream. My friend is a member so it was good value at around £22 for two mains, a side and a drink each. Without the 40% off I think it is a little pricey. Service was pretty good although watch out if you are here for lunch with limited time, it took us quite a while to get the bill so my friend ran late for getting back to work. As an aside, the Coke tasted a bit odd and came without any accompanying bottle. Might have been from the soda fountain, which would be a big negative in my book given the price, but will reserve judgment on that until I know for sure.

Had some friends meet me at the bar for drinks and ordered another glass of wine ... they couldn't identify the wine I ordered so showed them again.. still took them quite some time to pour the glass so I could join my friends in a cheers and they decided to comp off the wine for the delay which was a nice gesture Nice room, great food and product

Only for my birthday though as it is VERY expensive. We booked and arrived, but unfortunately, our table wasn't ready ... which we thought was a bit off as we booked a time so it should have been ready, otherwise what's the point in booking? So we were sat at the bar, and ordered drinks (maybe a ploy for people to order drinks and spend more so they won't rush people away from tables?) 20 Minutes later our table was ready. The server was nice, very knowledgable, very on hand. We ordered a steak each, and then 2 sides which we shared between us and a glass of wine (the cheapest for me because DAMN I went for an expensive cut) It didn't take long for the food to arrive and it was sizzling hot. When I say this was the best steak I've ever had ... I am not kidding. It had the perfect char, cooked exactly how I asked, a nice salt taste cutting in, melt in your mouth and the best ribeye steak Ive had and probably will ever have. It was big too .. way better than my other birthday where the plate was too big for the steak ... it filled it. The sides of herb butter potatoes and cabbage were amazing too ... buttery, herby, perfectly cooked. If I had the money I would happily go back here ... even though it was very busy and very loud ... the taste blew it out the park

The style of service here is what I will call enhanced as it's meant to be not rushing, even though many come here for the lunch specials, which include two and three courses for less than £25. Like many posh steakhouses, M&C try to create a dining experience that is memorable for special occasions. This also means you'll generally take your time here. The rich leather interiors and soft wall coverings lead to a sedate and quiet atmosphere. The steak qualities are very good, and I can particularly recommend upgrading to either the fillet or the New York strip. There are the many paid parking lot nearby servicing this center of MCR.

The service was pretty slow, despite ordering just one course, I was here overall for over an hour, considering I was looking for just a quick lunch and this place wasn't too busy, I was disappointed with the amount of time it took to be served and then get my food, especially considering the restaurant refused to serve me (or even give me a menu) until I had filled in track and trace information (Why couldn't they use the reservation details like every other restaurant?). I ordered the Buttermilk Chicken, which was quite reasonably priced at £16.50 considering it came with dauphinoise potatoes, broccoli and a sweetcorn puree, alongside a chicken gravy. I did find the dish to be a little rich, especially the gravy which was really overpowering (I preferred mayo!), the chicken, however, was very good as it was both cooked and seasoned well, it was complemented by the sweetcorn puree which was again well seasoned and hot (The Liverpool branch served me a cold puree!) 4* - If you're looking for a fancy place to eat, where the service is good (yet slow), with reasonable prices and a very good loyalty scheme which means you are often able to get discounts, this can be a good place, I do hate the fact the shared frier means as a coeliac I am unable to order chips, and the fact the slow service makes this difficult to visit for a quick lunch.

As you walk in, you start at a stairwell with "Welcome" written in a variety of languages, and a date stone with the year 1910 carved into it, giving a nod to the heritage of this building, and an explanation as to the small entrance and downward staircase, because once you get downstairs it opens into a very large cellar space. The space is very surprising, and furnished with tables, chairs and booths but not cramped in, taking advantage of the space. It was also a very curious thing to sit looking at your menu but see up through cellar windows onto the streets above, and people walking past. We are greeted and taken to our table. We note that it's quite quiet for an early Saturday evening, but our waiter informs us that it gets busier as the night progresses. We are given a wonderful meat-centric menu, which has some great choices of burgers, steaks and chicken, all for very reasonable prices for the city centre, and even offering an Early Bird special. Our party chooses to start by ordering buffalo wings, nachos, and onion rings. American classics. The food arrives in good time and is both fresh and tasty. The onion rings are crisp, the buffalo wings are succulent, tasty, and wonderfully messy to eat, and the nachos are crunchy, but could possibly have done with some more cheese, or a melted cheese sauce rather than melted grated cheese, but they are accompanied by a really tasty fresh salsa, which our entire party shared. Our waiter is friendly and attentive, making sure we're enjoying each course. For our mains we all decided we were very much in a burger mood, and two of us ordered the mushroom burger, whilst I ordered a classic American cheeseburger, all of which again arrived in good time. The burgers were excellently presented with no messing around, no wooden serving planks, just good food as it should be, and were tasty, well seasoned, and used fresh ingredients. They also came with lovely hot crispy chips, which is always good... too many places are let down by lukewarm soft chips. As we enjoyed our meals, we saw another table had some huge stacked burgers turn up, which must be The Portland Tower burger. They looked great, definitely one for next time! We really enjoyed our visit here, as we only decided to pop in on a whim, and weren't expecting anything special, but ended up leaving having had good food and good service in a pleasant and spacious environment for a really good price. We'll definitely return.

Looking at the website I thought it was worth spending that extra fiver as it looked swisher. Using the websites booking system it was very simple to pick out slot for 19:30. On arrival there was a reception desk who immediately acknowledged us and a waitress who I felt had been waiting for us led us immediately to a comfy leather booth. The waiter who served us for the rest of the evening queried whether we has been before. When we all shook our heads he explained that after helping ourselves to the salad bar we would simply flip this carded disk to green when we wanted meat and red to stop. After choosing a fazenda cocktail and malbec we waited for our drinks before we set off. The booth was stunning we were walled in by bottles of wine . In front lay the well presented salad bar and the lighting in general made it feel eloquent. Browsing the salad bar made me happy it consisted of various cheeses, sushi, stuffed peppers, dolmas, asparagus, stir fry, mushroom and other rices, roast potatoes, pork stews, prawns in mango, whitebait, chorizo and many others . Basically it wasn't your average salad bar it was creative and hard not to go mad with it. Sitting down with our catch we flipped the disk to green and let the meat commence. The service was so frequent and attentive there were no gaps on waiting for meat when it was set to green. We had beef skirt, pork belly, chicken hearts (thought I would give it a go!) Rib eye steak and various other cuts of meat cooked to my standard I.e rare. However my friend was a well done person so the waiters would cut bits from different parts to ensure this. After devouring some minted lamb the waiter asked if there were anything else on the meat menu that we had not tried. Spying the chicken and bacon, black pudding and Gammon with pineapple we selected these. What I noticed is that they do have a veggie option of pumpkin and goats cheese risotto and gnocchi. They also offered tuna steak for pescaterians. To finish I chose a light sorbet consisting of raspberry, scoop of mango and a third scoop of lemon and lime. Overall I could not fault the service so we agreed to the service charge. The ambiance was great and the food. For £32.60 A head I would say it's worth it. I would suggest it's good for groups and couples.

We arrived early afternoon, after 1pm. The receptionist greeted us, and I asked if there were any tables available. There was not, but there were seats in the bar area, which we decided to take. We sat on an available high top and ordered our drinks and food at the bar. We ordered the Salomon entrée that came with mashed potatoes and green beans, and we added a side of mac and cheese, wings, and shrimps. The shrimps were a bit salty, but still okay. The Salomon was good, and so were the wings. For drinks, we had a virgin, Pina colada, and a strawberry/mint lemonade. Again, my lemonade was a bit too sweet, but as the ice melted, that helped dilute the sweetness. For Christmas day, the restaurant did not seem overly busy, nor was it too loud. Our meals came out in a reasonable time. It did not seem like we had waited too long. I would definitely visit again.

Here are my favorite items: - Polenta Frita - Even though polenta is one of the top food items in Brazil, a lot of braiziliant restaurants actually surprisingly don't have this on their menu. Was very surprised that Bem Brasil had this and that it was actually delicious! I appreciate that the polenta retained a lot of its natural flavors and that it didn't fall apart immediately when you put it in your mouth. Loved the crispiness on the outside too, definitely a good mix against the fries. - Pao De Queijo (Cheese Bread) - Cheese bread in the UK is superior to cheese bread in US Brazilian Steakhouses and this place is no different. The cheese bread tastes like a popover and it was super cheesy on the inside but not like the usual pull apart kinds but rather it was ingrained cheese taste which I appreciate. - Presunto Defumado (Smoked Gammon) - I think a lot of other meats had a lot of flavor on the outside but not a ton on the inside, so its nice that this one (even though it is just ham) has a ton of flavor throughout. Goes well with the other more flavorless meats. Overall, not a bad experience at all. WIll this be the best Brazilian Steahouse you ever had?
