We stopped in Knutsford on our way to Kendal and came across Gusto, a lovely Italian restaurant…read morewith an almost fancy vibe, but still casual enough that we felt comfortable just walking in for lunch.
We ordered a pepperoni pizza, carbonara, rigatoni arrabbiata, and garlic roasted king prawns. Everything tasted great, although the pizza could've been better... it had a bit of a "frozen pizza" look, but the flavor was decent.
My only real gripe is with the dessert communication. At first, we were told only the tiramisu was unavailable. After ordering the Biscoff cheesecake and vanilla gelato, our server came back to let us know there was no cheesecake. It's a small thing, but letting diners know the dessert availability before ordering would've been appreciated. Also... the dry martini didn't taste much like a martini. Not sure what went into it, but it had a strong violet scent and reminded me of nail polish remover - sorry!
Overall though, it was a pleasant lunch spot and we enjoyed the meal.
