In April 2019, we had our garage floor resurfaced and coated by Garage Floor Coating (GFC) of Columbus who has since merged with Gator Guard in 2022. This is a 3-car garage that was used to store high-end sports cars for 2 of the past 5 years so there is very little traffic in or out.  LIFETIME WARRANTY: Prior to the installation, the sales rep, Tyler, told us there was a lifetime warranty and if there were any issues including the apron which commonly fail they would repair it at no charge in the future I say this because they actually repaired concrete on the apron and future failure was a concern. He was very clear. There were two of us who had this conversation with him.   Essentially these guys will blame the concrete beneath for every issue and an excuse to charge a $100 trip charge. None of this is mentioned in the sales pitch! BUBBLES IN THE FINISH: We had the floor installed. They had to come back out after installing due to some roughness and bubbling in the clear coat. They used a scrapper to knock down the bubbles and rough spots. Fast forward to last fall, I noticed some pitting in the main flooring and cracking in the apron both areas where the one vehicle parks. I thought, well, it's fall, winter is coming. I didn't really want to have to send workers out in the cold, and we'd wait for spring. POOR FOLLOW UP/SENSE OF URGENCY: Unfortunately, several unanswered calls, voicemails and a week long ghosting after an email exchange, Miss Ariel Jones bobbed and weaved her way out of honoring the warranty. She in fact wanted $100 just to look at the floor. And $150 an hour to fix it. The warranty at the time of install, was a lifetime warranty and did not have an exception with aprons or the concrete under which was repaired by the service techs. CHARGE FOR A SERVICE CALL: This is a free quote company, yet they want to charge $100.00 to come out and would like to charge $150.00 per hour for the repairs. This, to me, is a total money grab and doesn't honor the heart of the warranty and the reputation the previous owner built. This is no longer a small "family" company. Aeriel, the service manager, is in Indiana and they have several locations in other midwest states. MISLEADING: This is NOT the same company that installed my floor in 2019. Gator Guard purchased or merged with them in 2022. They assumed the 5-star reviews of the prior owner (GFC) and still maintain the Garage Floor Coating of Columbus website along with their Gator Guard website. They appear to have responded to 5-star reviews for work prior to when they even owned the company! BETTER BUSINESS BUREAU: There are several complaints of them not honoring their warranty and receive 2.0 stars. Not only will I never have a garage done by them in the next home. When friends or neighbors ask for recommendations, I will make a point to tell them about my experience with Gator Guard. read more

Had my floor done a couple of years ago after a year I had an issue with some bubbling and then the covering coming off in spots.They said it was not covered under the lifetime warranty. They charge a ridiculous hourly rate to have it fixed but I had them do it. Fast forward another year and I am having more issues. I ask them to come out to look at again. The repair main did not show up, He did end up calling at the very end of my 4 hour service window to say he had a family emergency. Said he would call back an reschedule it has been a few weeks with no phone call to follow up. Poor workmanship and poorer customer service read more

My husband really wanted this flooring done. Had Gator Guard come out and give us an estimate. Decided to go with their company. One of the worst mistakes we've made in 32 years of marriage. If you have to deal with Aaron Curtis (co-owner) expect NO customer satisfaction. It took them 5 tries and 5 months to get the floor done somewhat to my husbands satisfaction. Within a few months of getting the floor passable the top coat started peeling off. The company sent out 2 guys to patch/repair the areas that were peeling. Within 2 weeks of the repair it started peeling worse than before. After a lot of run around we finally got someone who would talk to us and get someone out here to look at the 2nd peeling mess. It was actually one of the guys that did the repair. He got Aaron Curtis on a conference call with my husband. Aaron basically told a story saying he had a conference call with my husband, myself and him. In this supposed conference call he said he offered a scenario to make us happy. This is not true. I have only seen/spoken to Aaron Curtis once and that is when he came out one of the 5x to get the job done. At that time I told him I had no faith in his company. He told my husband that I hurt his feelings. Don't believe this company/Aaron Curtis when they say they only want customer satisfied. They don't believe in this at all. They are coming back in 3 months to repair the repair but I don't see it being any better. Don't use this company. read more
