He said he couldn't find product. Another week went by and he put me on a 3 way call with the supplier. The supplier said the counters had been available for over a week. He then gave me an installation date a week later. He cancelled last minute that day and pushed it back 2 days. I went to his so called shop to verify materials were there and being fabricated. They weren't. He showed up while I was walking around and said they were being polished at another location and assured me they would be installed the following day. I contacted him the next day and he said they would be on site by 3. He cancelled again a little after 3 saying the granite broke. He said he might have new granite in a few days. It has now been a month and I asked for my deposit back. He said sure. I gave him my Venmo and he said he couldn't figure it out. He scheduled time to meet me the following day. He was a no show, no call, no replies. Another business owner who completes the jobs for Mike was there and let me know that Mike isn't an honest person or business owner and never ordered my materials and was lying about the entire job. Mike stole my money and cashed my check. He did reply saying he will refund me in full. I'm still waiting for the refund.

The order arrived well packaged, quickly, and as ordered. A week later (today), I received a call from one of their customer service reps, Patrick, calling to make sure we received it in good order. He also, in a very non-sales way, asked a few questions about our business to see if there was anything else they could help us with. Normally, I hate overt sales calls, but he was a nice, genuine person, truly interested in helping. Whenever we need more safety supplies, I'll make sure to use Abco!

In the center are smiling, welcome faces saying hello and asking if you need help. To the left there is a counter with coffee and fixings. Right behind that counter is a nook with a couple of tables, chairs, a fireplace, displays of amazing carvings done by customers, examples of lathe work and tons of books filled with instructions, patterns and photos. They will make you drool! I asked Brian, who was helping me, about classes and he was tremendously useful and knowledgeable. Not only did he give me a schedule, but he showed me display pieces of what can be made via instruction. Look at my photos - you will be astounded at what can be made at a beginner level. I'm thinking of making both the bandsaw box and end table in the pics. Aren't they cool looking? I kept thinking "I am going to be able to make this wonderful wood piece??" and was assured that yes, I could. This place carries all kinds of tools, equipment, kits, stains, veneers and wood. If you listened to the assistant manager proudly describe all that his store has to offer and looked at some of the pieces that he has made himself, you would be hooked! Not only did he tour me around the huge classroom, but he excitedly talked about all that they are doing to spread the woodworking passion. You will be as impressed as I am about this place and will be planning what project you will be doing in the near future. I brought my daughter in there once and even she remarked how this store has a really good feel to it. We thought that it would be a great place to work even though we don't have the skill set to back it up and that says something. My dad was able to finish our basement and now every time I smell sawdust, I have fond memories of him working with wood. Just another reason I can't wait to sign up for classes. My wife and I are not always that particular, but when it came to the deck on our new house we had many requirements that we know offered Matt a challenge. We love to be outside and plan (and do) spend a lot of time on our deck. Key requirements included: 1) Limited to no obstruction of view out our back windows. 2) Natural look and flow with wooded backyard. 3) Functionality (dining, grilling, entertaining). Matt was very attentive and responsive to our needs. He set expectations and from design through implementation of our deck Matt and his team put on quite a display of pride, craftsmanship, and professionalism providing our family an outdoor living space we know we will enjoy for many years to come. We had a couple of interviews with Matt where we were able to review our requirements and thoughts and Matt did a fantastic job in conceptualizing what we were looking for. He took measurements of the area behind our house and provided a handful of layouts using computer aided design software. We found a layout that was real close to what we thought would be best and worked with Matt on some refinements. Matt helped us determine that Tigerwood would be the best material to provide the quality, value and look we were going for. Matt came up with an awesome tier design that provided room for easy flow out of the house with a couple deck length steps down to a lower area. This layout provided for both functionality and a solution to limit obstruction to our view out of our house. We also decided to go with a black aluminum rail which also blends well with the woods as a back drop. Thomas Decks has many options for material, solutions, and ultimately a one of a kind outdoor living space. Matt set the tone for the project as a very dedicated craftsman who delivers a quality product with great attention to detail. There were just some things that this team does that display's quality. While the deck frame is your traditional pine, they used larger posts and joists. They added a little extra flare to the actual deck floor by framing it in and adding a couple rows of boards that run down the middle of the deck perpendicular to the floor boards. He poured a nice concrete pad where the steps come down which match the shape of the angled staircase. Considering the grade of our back yard he put in a couple small retaining walls and worked with us on putting in a few stepping stones. Thomas Decks does it all! Thomas Decks is who you will want to work with if you are pursuing a deck or outdoor space project. They delivered us a great design with personal touches, a fantastic looking and quality deck, and met all expectations and then some. I hate these fees in every capacity working with contractors, but I can't recall this ever being present outside of plumbers and electricians. I didn't proceed to set-up the consultation because their reviews online and competitive estimate should provide enough knowledge to their potential customer vs. instead of pinning them into working with them because of the thought of, "Well, we've already paid $100 towards working with this company..."
