Jaco waterproofing had a worker come out and tell me they would be able to waterproof my basement. I told them that it leaked from the floors and the walls. Their worker said they could fix that. Now, after one year, my walls are leaking. Jaco stated that their warranty doesn't cover leaks from walls. The said they worker who told me this "doesn't work there anymore." I would not use them. I paid $10,000 of them to tell me it isn't covered and they could send someone else out for a quote. read more

We initially contacted Jaco to fix a leveling issue with our driveway that was causing water to pool up. Josh Goodman came out and was very straight forward. He doubted that leveling the driveway would fix the issue. He suggested instead to install a Box Drain and run it into our current French Drain system. After a little more research we decided on a 3' long channel drain. It took a while from the initial contact in the Spring to getting an estimate in July but then the job was performed a month later in August. After the installation the Channel Drain worked perfectly. Also, the drain itself was installed very well. Our issue was with the installation of the plastic pipe which carried the water to our French Drain. The trench was dug unevenly then poorly filled. The result was a sharp dip all along the drain pipe; like a reverse "speed bump". Also where the pipe connected to the French Drain was not buried deep enough causing the pipe to be exposed. When I called Josh he came out to look at it then I heard nothing. A week later I called Josh and he said it looked fine to him. After a 5 minute discussion he agreed to send a crew out to fix it. 3 weeks later..no crew so my wife and I spent 4 hrs. relaying the drain pipe and filling it in properly. So, I give Jaco an A for the concept and the installation of the Channel Drain and an F for the installation of the drain pipe and overall Customer Service. read more

Jaco did a wonderful job on my basement. The men were a delight to have working inside and outside my home. We had documentation of what was being done and if we made changes from the engineers plans, we discussed and approved the changes. They were all hardworking, neat and polite. I was told and prepared for the yard being dug up. They cleaned the driveways and the basement. The work was completed very timely and they kept me calm during the process. This is my first time posting a review of any one but I feel compelled to. Adam, the salesman, showed for estimate and was very polite. After a number of estimates I decided on Jaco. The price was middle of pack. The team showed up and began work. I expected some collateral damage from digging my basement floor to footers but was shocked at the damage. If the salesman had been honest in describing the prep required, I would have been more prepared. Granted my "finished" basement presented a unique situation that even caught the crew off guard. They attempted to repair what they could but it has still required thousands of dollars to repair not to mention my time in repair it took a number of texts, emails, phone calls over a few week period to get a return message from Adam. This was accomplished only after talking to the main office when they were following up on payment status. I received a small monetary reduction that didn't come close to covering the damage which included a cupboard being torn down, shelving torn from walls door hinges bent and somehow my Nutone intercom system being ruined. Through all of this, even after the crew called the salesman, he never showed to view the damage read more

The workers were friendly and worked steady. I am unable to provide a better rating because one or more stole my Raku Tongs. I kept finding them laying on the back deck where the workers would walk by with concrete. I would place the tongs back into the house. I would ask who and why they were placed out back. No one would admit they kept moving the tongs outside. The Foreman did finally pick one of the tongs up and asked if they were fireplace tongs. I provided the information as to what they were for. He kept going over my art supplies and kiln stating his grandchild was going to be an artist. I offered to give her some pointers if she wanted. We fed them lunch and kept the workers in soda and water. Even sent over a case with them. When they left we found that they took the tongs. The salesman said the workers probably didn't know what they were. I am sorry but that is one poor excuse. Anyone should know to ask as the Forman did. The tongs where antique. Extra long because I first used them for my horses shoeing. I am unable to replace them. Similar (shorter) are over $1000.00 each. I shouldn't have to claim these on my insurance. I never received so much as an apology from the company, the Foreman nor the salesman. You would think they would offer to pay for the replacements. read more

THERE ARE BETTER OPTIONS OUT THERE. DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THESE GUYS. Trust this. I paid Jaco around $900 to come in and lift a concrete slab in a rental property I own. They did the work but the slab fell in 6 months and they came back and honored their warranty. 6 months later the slab fell again and they came back in between my tenants and they told me they needed to address the foundation before lifting the slab again. I approved the $7000+ for them to pier the property. They came out and dug under the property but then stopped and told me my foundation was not below the frost line so they could not do the work. I had no choice but to move tenants in again while I figured out the problem. They told me IN AN EMAIL at this time that they would come back and lift the slab again since it was in the warranty period. 1.5 years later I found a company who said they could do the foundation work and give me a guarantee their piers would work and it would hold. I have scheduled for this company to do this work. Then I called Jaco to lift the slab once I have the other company do the foundation work, like they said they would. They told me they would not do the work unless I gave them the piering job??? This is no way to do business. Warranties are not contingent on future work. This is horrible for a company to take advantage of someone like this. They do not stand by their warranty OR their work. They will only warranty their work if I pay them for a larger job? This company cannot be trusted and have taken advantage of the situation to leverage future jobs. I would never do business with a company like this ever. read more

In April our basement flooded due to heavy rain. When I called JACO to get a quote, I was told someone would call me back to schedule an appointment. A week later I had not heard anything, so I called back. I was given the estimators cell phone number and told to call him myself. Once I called him I didn't hear back until the next day and he scheduled me 1 week later. The day before he was supposed to come give me an estimate he called and rescheduled for the next day, because "forgot about training that day". So it took almost 3 weeks from my first call to get the estimator out to my house. We had heard good things about JACO so we waited. Once the estimator showed up, he was in such a rush to measure and leave I could barely ask any questions. Later that day I got the quote and we were about ready to sign and schedule work. However, the quote did not list all of the items being done. So I emailed for a more descriptive quote, then called when no response. It took 3 days for me to get an updated quote so I could sign it and schedule work. Work was finally scheduled for 5/24 & 5/25. On the 24th, when they came to start work, the foreman said they can't put the pump where the estimator said it would go because there is a pipe in the floor of the laundry room. (This is a 4 inch PVC pipe) Maybe if the estimator wasn't in such a rush he would have measured and looked and seen this, but he did not. Then when I called him to ask why he had not noticed this and figured another place to put the pump, he explained that it was "an unforeseen issue". No! It was a rushed quote that you botched! I told him I needed to speak with his boss and was told he would have him call me. I had to leave work to come home and figure out how to put the pump somewhere else in my basement. When I got home the foreman said that this type of error happens all the time and that the sales guys are the source of most of the complaints they get because they don't understand the installation part of the job. After we decided on the revised placement for the pump, they began work. While getting set up, one of the workers was trying to get to my back yard and pulled open a gate that was nailed shut because the latch did not work. He left the gate pulled open and I then found him trying to get through another gate, but he couldn't get it open and was trying to climb my 6 foot privacy fence. When I asked if he needed to get in the back yard and he said yes, I showed him the door in the back of my garage that leads to the back yard (which other workers had gone through). Before they started work, my wife heard one of the workers ask about what to do about all of the concrete dust getting on the brick of the fireplace. To which my wife heard another worker tell him not to talk so loud, not realizing my wife heard it all. Day one installation went well, no other issues were encountered until the end of the day when they left and when they picked up the paper they had put down in the house, they went into the basement and then back up and tracked dust and debris where they had just removed the paper. I shrugged it off and cleaned up thinking that since they would be back to finish in the morning they would have more to clean up after they were completely done. The next day, work continued and seemed to be going well. My mother-in-law stayed at the house while my wife and I ran some errands, expecting that they would not be done and gone when we got back. Well, they were done and gone before we got back and I did not get a call from them to say they were done or anything. They packed up and left. When we got home, we realized in their rush to leave that they had not cleaned up at all and had left a trail up the basement steps and through the kitchen when they left. There was gravel and debris all over the brick fireplace (they had not covered it or cleaned up even though they clearly knew it would get covered in dust) and basement as well, there was absolutely no effort made to clean anything up and the end of work. Now we start to notice other issues. There are at least 3 places where they hit the brick fireplace with the jack hammer and damaged the brick, the concrete was not level with the rest of the foundation and was not smooth, there was no paperwork for the warranty or anything else, I had no proof that the pump worked as they tested it while I was not home, and they left before I could review all of the work. I have talked to multiple people multiple times about all of these issues. I never heard from the estimator's boss like I was told I would. Then on 5/30 I get an email with my bill. I replied to the email about having multiple outstanding issues and was told that I didn't need to pay until the issues were resolved. It is not 6/18, over 3 weeks since work was completed and I have heard nothing from anyone at JACO. read more

I had a leaking patio which is built over my garage. The water infiltration and damage was *bad*. I called many, many companies and when they came out, they looked at the problem and threw up their hands and left. JACO was recommended by a trusted roofer and they took on the job. They removed the existing slate covering only to find a previous waterproofing solution that had failed. This coating was a nightmare to remove. Pressure washing didn't work so they had to grind it off, ended up with a perfect prep job. In the garage, they chiseled out failed mortar and concrete block. I came home from work and found no debris - a really messy job and they left the area super clean. You're going to be dealing with total pros at every step of the job.
