Not a great experience w/ A-1. We had specific repair work we wanted with our driveway that I communicated to them. However they come out & inspect without even speaking with us. So you are left to assume that their quote covers what you want done. I sent an e-mail to the worker who was out & provided the quote, but he never got back to me. Since I assumed that the job would be done as we desired, I agreed to the work. When they showed up for the job my wife was told that they would not do some of the repair work requested. The work they did do was OK, but it left a big gap between sections of our driveway. Shouldn't have been an issue as they were coming back to caulk the areas impacted by their work. The worker who finally did the caulking however would not do the area with the major "seam" between driveway sections that they repaired and asked for an additional $100 to do it. Even though it obviously needs done. So now I have to do the remaining caulking or what they did will be useless as water/etc will seep into the raised driveway area and the problems we've had will just be repeated. Not a happy customer. read more

Review: Hard-Working Crew; Quoting and Assessment Fell Short Summary: While the field crew worked hard and the final lift on my driveway and walkway looks good, the quoting process did not go well and the site assessment missed obvious issues. What Went Wrong: I originally asked for two driveway pads and the walkway only. The estimator added the front-porch void fill to the quote during the visit. I agreed at the time--but I would not have agreed had I known the price would be presented as more than double after work had already begun. The estimator did not assess the clearly visible voids under the porch from the side before drilling. A quick look (and, if needed, a lean-over with a flashlight) could have gauged the size. Instead, the crew measured by drilling ~8-10 holes in the porch and dropping a tape measure into them, then informed me of the major upcharge. That led to a multi-hour delay. A modest variance (±10%) is understandable; 100%+ is not. I directed the crew to perform exactly what was originally quoted--limited void fill near the front door--bringing the total back to the quoted amount. What Went Well: The crew arrived ready, worked quickly and efficiently, and the driveway/walkway results are solid. The caulking crew blended joints and holes in the driveway and walkway very well. Needs Improvement: Scope & price clarity up front: If an estimator adds areas (like the porch), clearly verify scope and final price before any drilling. Proper pre-drill assessment: Inspect visible voids from the side first to avoid scope creep and delays. Finish consistency: Porch holes were filled but not blended, and remain very visible--match the finish quality achieved on the driveway/walkway. Bottom Line: The on-site team's effort and workmanship on the driveway and walkway were strong. However, the estimating, communication, and pre-assessment process needs to improve. With clearer scope confirmation before drilling and consistent finish work across all areas, this could have been a five-star experience. read more

I met the guys at the home remodeling show in Sharonville and arranged for them to come quote my driveway. Instead of the nice guys I met at the show calling me, an older curmudgeon called...and lucky me....he is the one who showed up too! I told him that I would be having other businesses quote so he knew I couldn't book it until they saw it. He focused completely in on that, asking repeatedly who else was quoting. Then wandered around my back yard, never asking what my concerns were. Before leaving he refused to quote stating I wouldn't be happy with his work. I don't think I'll be having them back for the other jobs I have in mind for the future. read more

We had a lot of settling around our pool, up to an inch difference in some areas. Ryan came out to do the estimate and explain to my wife the entire process, warranty and cost estimate. She was so at ease she agreed without even double checking with me. Not saying she had to but usually we discuss home projects before signing. The night before the scheduled day they called to confirm and give us a window. Eddie and Ryan arrived on time and did a great job. I was surprised that Ryan was there, because he does estimates. He explained that they were super busy so he jumped in to help. He also said pools can be tricky so he wanted to help with it. They did a great job, the concrete is better than I ever expected. They cleaned the area and even gave me a call to let me know how to keep it maintain it. Eddie and Ryan are an A team and saved me thousands. We had some significant sloping of our sidewalk right by the foundation of our house that was allowing water to puddle and eventually make it into our basement. We called and had an estimate within 2 days. They were able to make it out to get the job done less than a week later! The slope of the sidewalk is now away from the house and no longer puddles near the foundation, which makes for a much dryer basement!! They did great work and were extremely courteous and helpful!!
