I did the 10:30am Goat Hike at Gather Farm on Saturday, August 23, 2025. Purchasing tickets online was an easy process. There were 2 types of tickets: Goat Hiker (ages 10 and up walking a leashed goat) for $30.00 each or Hiker Only (NOT walking a leashed goat) for $20.00 each. I purchased 4 Goat Hiker tickets. We pulled into the gravel farm driveway and parked in the farm parking lot by the greenhouses. There was a sandwich board with directions to the goats and a table with a waiver to complete. Shortly after 10:30am, Aidan Simmons welcomed and prepared us by running through all the instructions and rules for the hike. We choose our own goat with a leash from the herd. The goats already knew the way and at some point I let go of the leash and let the goat walk by herself. We walked the flat grass paths around the farm fields and through the forest as Aidan shared the history of her farming, the story of her goats, and some great goat facts. She is very passionate and really cares about the goats well being. We finished our hike about 12:00pm. Aidan was very knowledgeable and it was fun to see the different goats personality and them grazing plants and leaves off the trees.

I was on facebook events looking for an evening activity and I came across an event hosted by RIEEA (Rhode Island Environmental Education Association) at gather farm. When we first arrived, we were distracted by the ice cream truck, but we kept walking to the main event. We were warmly greeted by someone from RIEEA, offered some snacks, given an ice cream ticket, and told the goats are in the back. We went back out to get the ice cream, which is apparently made at their ice cream studio. I did not realize this farm makes up their trio; they have a glass blowing studio on Atwells Ave., and ice cream making studio next door to that, and this farm which is genius. They had very unique flavors like lemon basil and honey lavender so my friend and I tried them both. The flavors were more on the subtle side, but still very delicious, creamy, and not too cold. The goats were very cute! We didn't actually get to feed them or pet them but we did do some research and found out they do hikes where you can either walk with the goats or hold one on a leash during the hike. I will definitely be checking that out. Their website also mentions lots of other events and cool activities they offer. The farm is pretty, especially during the time we were where the sun was going down. I did not get a chance to see all they grow but I did see some rosemary and zuchinni. There is a decent amount of parking.

We had the best time at the goat hike at Gather Farm (in fall 2025)--such a fun and unique experience. The host was amazing--so educational, outgoing, and engaging, and I honestly learned way more about goats than I expected (in the best way). The walk itself was short, easy, and super accessible, making it perfect for all ages and mobility levels. It felt relaxed, interactive, and just genuinely enjoyable from start to finish. I would absolutely go back and would love to try more of their events!

Went for a goat hike with Aiden today with my best friend. Aiden is the owner of all these beautiful goats. Small group of people on the hike. The goats were so friendly, can walk them or watch them graze as they go. Aiden is so full of knowledge and I hope many more people get to come and experience these wonderful animals

During my visit they hosted a goat hike with leashes, an ice cream tasting, and a photography booth with the goats.
