Tim's Auto Repair & Service

Tim's Auto Repair & Service

July 3 2019 Super impressed with the service at Tim's:…read more My Dad had just arrived from a 20 hr drive, to meet his new grand baby, with his two dogs and 77 year old sister in tow. He flipped a u-turn at the light and his whole engine seized up. 5:30 am was a terrible time to get a phone call about what happened. Luckily AAA was able to get a wonderful tow service company to drive us to Tim's to drop off the car. I had found Tim's on Yelp with great reviews. Never had been there but knew of it, as we have drove passed it a few dozen times before. It was also convenient because it was right down the street from the hotel where my dad was staying. We made it there 5 minutes after opening. I went in while my dad finished up with the tow truck. I explained the situation. They were understanding of the but apologetic, as they were fully booked till Monday next week! My heart sunk. However, they told me they could get the car a diagnostic test to see what the problem was, since it was early enough to get it looked at. Apparently there were a few other people from out of town needing their car fixed just as quick as we needed our done. At that point I figured we would just have it towed to another shop. Jeff and (I believe) Ray were the ones who helped us. They were extremely friendly and gracious. I received a call as a back up, around 2pm. They found the issue. Minor compared to what we thought it was. They said since it was a smaller repair they could have the parts and car fixed by 4:30!!! I was ecstatic. They knew our dyer situation and were able to work it out. My dad was so grateful for the speedy service they provided. THANK YOU TIM'S Auto Repair Service, you saved my dad's trip from being a total disaster.

Felt very uncomfortable there as a woman. They didn't seem like they wanted business. Not sure if they only work on cars that aren't this decade, but not helpful & a complete waste of my time!

What a disappointment. I remember when this company would go out of its way for customers--now it…read morefeels like the mindset has shifted to, "what can we get away with today?" A couple of weeks ago, I stopped in to ask about installing a 2.5" leveling kit on my truck. A young employee came up front and offered to help. I explained what I was looking for, and after a quick look at the truck, he casually said, "Yeah, that'll be $299." My wife was pleasantly surprised since I had expected something closer to $400-$450 and even commented on how inexpensive it sounded. That's when things took a turn. The employee suddenly got excited and said, "Oh, no--you misunderstood. That's just for the kit. The full install will be $899." That's an absurd price for a 2.5" leveling kit installation. Even worse than the inflated cost was the way the pricing seemed to shift based on our reaction. That's not how you build trust. To make matters worse, the exact same kit was available at reputable tire shops for just under $400 installed. I've purchased multiple sets of tires here over the years and trusted them with plenty of work--but after this experience, I won't be returning. If you're looking for tires, alignments, or suspension work, I'd strongly recommend going with a company that values transparency and treats its customers with honesty

I waited an HOUR before they even pulled my car into a bay. I get tire shops are busy and waits can be expected, but if I make an appointment, waiting an hour before even getting service is a bit frustrating. If the wait is expected to be over an hour, they should let customers know. Once in the bay, it took less than 15 minutes to fix the leak. I guess the only positive to my visit is that I wasn't charged for them to fix it.
