Even though I have a high number of check-ins here, it still doesn't even begin to reflect how much I actually stop at this store because half the time I forget to check-in because the stop is so quick. Gas is as cheap as it's going to get in this area of town. There are plenty of pumps and enough space between the pumps that you're night right on top of another car. I've never had a problem with any of the pumps working properly. The store is always clean, as are the restrooms. Tons of snacks can be found here in this large store and everything is always well-stocked. The cashiers are nice and friendly. Buy one of their 64oz plastic "jugs" (it's either 5 or 6 bucks and comes with a fountain drink) and then you can come in whenever you like and fill it up for a buck. You don't even have to have one of the Gate "jugs" ... you can have one for Hess, 7-11, etc... they'll still let you fill it up for a buck. They have an air pump and it's free. Very convenient when hopping off and on I-295.

As I was about to pull away, the nice gas station attendant tapped on my window and with the nicest smile and a "good morning" informed me that my gas tank lid was still open. I know this is a small thing, but simple gestures like that mean a lot. This has happened I hate to say before, and I have found that some people just don't care. I wish I had had the presence of mind to catch his name to tell him how that nice gesture made my morning. :-) P.S: was bothering me so much that I didn't catch his name that I drove back around to thank him properly. This station has gone through many updates over the years; they're always trying to improve. I remember the days when they had a little pay stand in the middle of the pumps (before paying at the pump was prevalent). They also have a counter along one of the windows with stools so you can sit to eat. I see a lot of construction workers in here eating on their lunch break. Gas is about the cheapest you'll find in the area, so it's a good place to fill up. There are plenty of pumps, so there usually isn't a wait to get to one. They also have free air here for your tires. Then, of course, they have the usual like any convenience store like cigs, soda, beer, and snacks.

If you're into sodas you can buy their refillable cup & your next refill is only 90 cents. I've on a few occasions tried their Tamale. It's not doughy but actually has decent filling. If you're into frozen yogurt they have Yobe. But lookout as a cupful with topping can get quite pricey. I think the reason why their food is decent is they let their employees test their food at their kitchen at the headquarters. My friend who works for Gate shared this with me. It's like their internal focus group. Maybe that's how they keep their food offerings appealing to all. There's so much more to Gate than just gas. Aside from food they also sell lottery & even have blood pressure machine similar to a Higi station at Publix. Lucky me I don't have to go far to take advantage of this convenience store.

It's always…read morereally busy and it's not really easy to get in and out of because this portion of Dunn Avenue is always really busy. It's large and clean. They have all the latest gadgets gas stations/convenience stores seem to be getting nowadays like milkshake machines. They even have a blood pressure machine in here... now that is definitely a first! There's a nice selection of hot food items; always, it always irks me that they always seem to be out of tamales no matter what time of day it is. They also have the ever popular Beer Igloo. Ton of gas pumps, but because they are so busy, it's not uncommon to have to wait for a pump. There are always several employees working, but for whatever reason, it seems when I go to the register there's only one employee there with like 10 people in line. Is it really that difficult for another employee to come to one of the other registers? Yes, I'll keep stopping here because we drive by often and are always in need of something. But I'm just not a huge fan of this Gate.
