Well at age 47, after years of wearing contacts and glasses, I finally made the decision to get custom wave form lasik with monovision. The procedure performed by Dr. Hines could not have gone better. After giving me my "courage cocktail", the procedure took maybe 45 minutes in total. it was pretty freaky, but not scary. I asked Dr Hines how many surgeries like this he had done and he said "40,000". Ok, not his first rodeo. When I left the chair to go meet my friend, with my fancy steampunk goggles and all, I could already tell I could see better! I watched TV that night (in my goggles) and woke up the next day seeing perfectly- I don't need ANY correction for near or farsightedness- NO reading glasses necessary! Woke up on a Sunday with an extremely irritated eye...and worked for the next few days with it like…read morethat. On Wed decided enough was enough and contacted Levinson Eye Clinic to have it looked at and they managed to squeeze me in emergency visit. Turns out I had a scratch on my cornea somehow, 20% of it, and had been ripping it open with each and every blink. Not only did they take care of me completely, they offered the best eye care I've ever had (and I've a lot of eye problems in the past 7 years similar to this). They checked my eye thoroughly and even put a zero power contact on it as a bandaid SOMETHING NEVER DONE AT ANY OTHER PLACE I'VE BEEN TO (WERE THEY ALL IDIOTS?) I don't usually write reviews, but today decided that Dr. Levinson deserved a shoutout for how happy I STILL am with the results. Just had my eyes checked for the first time in a few years (moved out of state so can't follow with him anymore) and my astigmatism is returning a bit which I was told would happen but overall vision is still 20/20. At the young age of 47, just need to start using readers! So very happy that I spent the money 18 years ago and invested in LASIK surgery and trusted Dr. Levinson. I received excellent care for many years, including very successful laser treatment, and this office was widely trusted by professional athletes and long-term Denver patients alike. After both doctors retired and the practice was sold, I returned in July after moving back to Denver for an annual exam with a new doctor. While the clinical exam itself was fine, the administrative experience was not. After paying in full for my exam, I requested my eyeglass prescription so I could obtain reading glasses and was refused due to unexplained billing and insurance issues. I was then told I would need to schedule and pay for another appointment instead. Under federal rules, eyeglass prescriptions must be released after an exam regardless of insurance status. The inability to explain charges while withholding my own prescription felt administratively hostile and unnecessarily obstructive. Unfortunately, this is not the practice it once was. I've chosen to move my care elsewhere and would caution others to be aware of potential administrative barriers when requesting records or prescriptions

Specifically, Maria at the front desk was overheard speaking negatively about another patient who had just walked in for his appointment. She told her coworker that the man was "annoying" and that he was "always coming in just to bother them." After hearing this, the coworker immediately began treating the patient poorly without even asking why he was there or whether he had an appointment. She dismissed him and told him he would have to come back later, only to find out that he did in fact have a scheduled appointment. Watching a patient be judged and treated disrespectfully before staff even understood the situation was very concerning. Because of this experience, I do not feel comfortable bringing my parents back to this clinic.

I ask for all of us to be booked to see Dr. Stuart Lewis (I had read some not great reviews about another faculty member and knew I didn't want to see them), but then was informed after I let the person on the phone know I'd need both contact and glasses exams, to which I was told I'd have to see someone else for contacts, which is ridiculous. I'm certainly not making another appointment (when you're already over a month out) for someone else. Why would I do that? Well, I won't, so I guess I'll move on. I had severely high myopia (-12.5 in one eye, and -14.5 in the other). Wearing contact lenses all…read moreday, every day, was starting to be a real annoyance in the dry Denver climate. Obviously with my very high myopia, I was not a candidate for LASIK or PRK, so I reached out to Dr. Lewis' office to ask about cataract surgery, aka clear lens extraction, aka refractive lens exchange. From my very first call to his office, I was really impressed. The admin who answered my call was very knowledgeable about all the different options. She described the costs associated with Phakic IOLs vs lens replacement. Clear lens extraction surgery is done under local anesthesia, which was terrifying to me because I have nystagmus. I was like, "How can anyone replace my lenses if my eyes are moving all over the place?!" I had my consultation with Dr. Lewis, and he wasn't worried about this at all. He said he would administer a nerve block to stop the eye movement during surgery. I chose to move forward and schedule my surgery with Dr. Lewis because he was so confident. I figured, hey, he's not worried, so I shouldn't be, either! I appreciated that Dr. Lewis didn't promise me impossible results. Because I have nystagmus, my best corrected vision (with contact lenses) prior to surgery was about 20/100. Dr. Lewis made sure I understood that clear lens exchange surgery wouldn't give me 20/20 vision. I was like, "I know; I just want to stop being so dependent on contact lenses." I like that he was realistic and helped me manage my expectations. Dr. Lewis met with me during me pre-op eye measurement appointment. I expressed that I didn't feel confident in the measurements the tech had gotten for my left eye, as my nystagmus was going crazy during the measurements. He had a different tech redo those measurements just to be sure, which really put me at ease. On the day of my surgery, I asked him, "Are you nervous?" (because, right, it's not every day you operate on someone whose eyes are darting around like frightened guinea pigs!) and he said, "No, I've done this surgery thousands of times." Again, the fact that he was so confident really helped allay my anxiety. I had my surgery four weeks ago without any complications, and now I can confidently give five stars to Dr. Lewis. He has been awesome every step of the way. I couldn't have chosen a better eye surgeon!

Front desk person didn't bother looking at my insurance card to see that I had a co pay of $75…read more Tried to charge me $175! And put the wrong pharmacy in the system. Very young physicians assistant or nurse practitioner was resistant to giving me 2 Valium for my back. I'm almost 60 not addicted to benzos and know what works! My back was out and Valium helps relax my muscles. He did wnd up giving the prescription to me but after I had to listen to a long explanation as to why other medications (that I've tried before) would work better. A very long and tiring day. This was also my second location as the first AFC that was closer to my house was an hour behind
