I had read about Gary's Automotive prior to taking a 1999 GMC there for a full checkup and some work. It was critical to me that it would be looked at very well because I'm a female driving a 36 hour across country drive in this GMC. Gary has always kept me informed of every change, suggestion, advice, price etc.I have been driving for almost 40 years and have never had this type of exceptional ,honest, extremely fair priced service. Gary not only fixed everything necessary but went above and beyond advising me what the GMC would need upon my arrival and made it easier and cheaper for myself and the next mechanic to fix because he would use dye so the problem would present itself immediately . I took my Nissan Rogue to Gary Beardsley Automotive for a simple oil change @ 25,000 miles, but Gary was incredibly thorough in checking other things, such as fluid levels, tire tread and engine filters. My air filter was filthy and needed replacing but everything else was fine - he didn't try to "up-sell" me on other items that didn't really warrant attention (very different from other places I've been, including the Nissan dealer...) I typically take my cars to the dealer for service for the first 50,000 miles or so, but I will definitely take my car back to Gary for any service, including the major ones. He was very friendly, the waiting area was clean and pleasant, the location is great and his price was reasonable. Gary and his team are the best in the business. My 1981 Jeep CJ 7 was not driving at all when I brought it to them. With no background knowledge on the car and a complicated after-market fuel injector kit, they got the job done and made my Jeep run like new. They left no detail untouched...from the engine wiring, valve covers, timing chain, all the way to the wiper blades. They provided timely updates along the way and kept meticulous records of what was done to the vehicle. Throughout the multi-month diagnosis and repairs for my Jeep, the Gary Beardsley team was incredible. The extensive knowledge they have to get the job done is shown in their work. Ive left multiple reviews for Gary but when the service is great you have to let others know about it! Gary Beardsley is the go to guy for car troubles. I've worked with him several times now and I've never had any issues whatsoever. He is up front with you, honest, quick, and communicative. His prices are very reasonable and he has even saved me money in some cases when I've priced out other mechanics for the same car issue. I won't go to another mechanic again! My brother, wife, and mother-in-law have all used Gary Beardsley and not one of them has had issues working with him or with the service itself. My Jeep had been smoking from the engine for over a year despite taking it to the dealership multiple times, they couldn't ever repair it or even figure out the actual issue. I took it to Gary Beardsley after a quick google search of good mechanics in Sandy. They asked me a bunch of questions about the issue and then it was off to the races. They figured out what was wrong with my Jeep within 30 minutes and also discovered another oil leak. They gave me a couple of quotes and with my authorization began working on the repairs. They told me the vehicle would be ready the next day and it was. The quote was also spot on. I will he using Gary Beardsley anytime my vehicles are acting up. They did an amazing job. read more

I really trust Gary. A year ago I was considering buying an antique MG and took it to Gary to check out. He found that it was in substantially worse condition than was represented by the broker selling the car. He saved me a lot of money and headaches. Today I took in my prized 2006 Miata, which needed oil change and filter, as well as check and top off all fluids (including air conditioning), check tire pressures, lube and locate all greaseable joints and perform a multi point inspection. This has to have been one of my most pleasant experiences with an auto repair shop. Gary is for forthright in his analysis of your vehicles needs and understands it is not always easy to look at a big repair. I have an older diesel pickup that was leaking oil like the Exxon Valdez - after several other mechanics looked at it he was able to diagnose and fix the problem without tearing further into the engine. Had a check engine light come on & they were able to diagnose the problem & repair it for a reasonable price, They also installed a performance air filter. My vehicle is under warranty & they tried to work with the warranty company to repair other issues that they noticed while they were inspecting the vehicle, unfortunately warranty companies just want your $$ & don't want to follow through on their warranty. read more
