The sale went pretty smooth, though what the salesman said and what was in the financing documents was different and had to be adjusted, so pay attention to the details. The car was always serviced at this location. Every oil change and recommended service completed. However, my first issue with the service department came after I had my first replacement set of brakes. During the service, they saw a problem with one of the brake calipers and recommended replacement. We agreed. Job was finished and we went on our way. About a month later, there was a grinding sound in the brakes. Come to find out the caliper they replaced was defective. They tried to charge me for a new caliper again and I had to argue with the service manager to get them to agree their parts were defective. Time went on, and we started having engine trouble. Took the car in, and the service center said it required a new engine. It was just out of warranty and we had just had it serviced about a month before this happened. When we talked with the mechanic about the issue, he said it looked like it had been run previously with no oil or there was something in the oil that wasn't supposed to be there. When I explained it had never been low on oil, didn't have any leaks and had always been serviced in this shop, they just shrugged it off. They quoted me over $10k for an engine I was led to believe was new. I was told it would take 1 week. I had to rent a car in the meantime as that was our only car. After a week, I found it it still wasn't done and would require another day. After another day it still wasn't done and I was told two more days. Finally, I contacted the service manager and told her I just needed a firm date, whatever that date was, so I could make plans for alternative transportation. Finally, I was told it was done. I went to pick it up and then noticed the final paperwork said it was a used engine with 86k miles on it. When I pointed it out, they showed me the quote that does not specify "New" engine, but also doesn't say used engine. I mentioned how I was led to believe it was a new engine and they just said that wasn't specified in the paperwork. Angry, but relieved to finally have the car back, I moved on with life and just vowed to never return there. Over the last few years, I've found a plethora of random odds and ends parts that were never reinstalled on the car, including the skid plate. Just completely incompetent work. Frankly, from my point of view it should be criminally fraudulent. The place may be ok to buy a car at, but I swear to god I'll chop off my own hand before ever having a car serviced there again. I feel completely scammed. To the business owner. Don't call me or offer anything to me. I don't want a thing from you, anymore. I would never trust your service department with another car. Institute some standards.
