I had an SR22 filing, a legal requirement that only the insurance company can see--not the customer. In June 2025, I sold my car and canceled the title. I then asked Bridge First to cancel my insurance. They did so without warning me that canceling an active SR22 policy would lead to automatic suspension of my driver's license. The cancellation was processed by Jessica, with no mention of the SR22, no questions asked, and no warning. A simple reminder would have saved me from losing my license, paying $175 in fees, and going through the stress of reinstating my driving privileges. When I called to understand what went wrong, I spoke with Wade, who was dismissive and unhelpful. Instead of assisting, he said it wasn't their responsibility to check my file or remind me about the SR22. Worse, he tried to shift the blame to Progressive, insisting that they--not Bridge First--should have warned me. He also claimed he couldn't discuss the SR22 further unless I showed it to him or got it from the DMV--a clear sign he doesn't understand that SR22 filings are only visible to insurance providers, not consumers. As a result, I wasted another hour on hold with the DMV, only to confirm what Bridge First should have known all along. This is unacceptable. Bridge First Insurance acts as if they are only here to sell policies--not to support or protect their customers. They take no responsibility when things go wrong, and their staff clearly lack basic knowledge about what they're selling. They also refused to continue communication, leaving me to clean up the mess alone. If you're looking for a company that understands insurance and values its customers, look elsewhere. Bridge First will not stand by your side, and their negligence will cost you time, money, and unnecessary stress. They do not deserve the ratings they currently have.

As well, this last year of my dealing with other insurance companies on claims made me appreciate Bryan Lynch's follow though and enthusiasm. I have totally changed my opinion. I chose Hunter Wyant State Farm Agency because of Yelp reviews. As an owner of income properties, I have been insured by State Farm for 18 years. They are the only major insurance company that offers full replacement cost for rental property. Bryan Lynch initially helped me with insuring my first condo purchase ever, and first property purchase in Charlottesville (I live in CA). He guided me through the difference in buying Condo insurance rather than single family home insurance. He charged my credit card on the day of close, just as I asked. I noticed a week later that my card had not been charged, and I called in a panic. Bryan reassured me it did not affect my insurance starting on the closing day! There were other clerical errors, and Bryan immediately corrected them. Glad he was there, and polite through all of it. Over the past year I bought 3 more condos in Charlottesville. Bryan has insured all of them, suggesting a commercial umbrella when I bought the last one. State Farm was less costly than commercial insurance from a company that only sells commercial insurance. Last year the same commercial insurer was $120 less for one condo. This year they were $100 more than State Farm! And State Farm's coverage is more complete. The close on the last property was moved up 3 days. I was notified at 1 pm that it was closing that same afternoon, and called Bryan immediately. Bryan got me revised quotes for all 4 condos and the commercial umbrella in my email box within an hour. He charged my credit card the same time the purchase was recorded. He communicated with me in the evening (Friday) to make sure I was comfortable with the process, and to check on any questions. The receipts for purchase were in my email box early the next morning (Saturday). Hunter Wyant's State Farm has attentive support staff. Whenever Bryan was out of the office, either Eric or Kendra handled my questions, and made sure Bryan got the messages. Bryan emailed me about my questions before returning to the office. What I appreciate as much as his knowledge, follow though, and eagerness is that he did not try to upsell. He wanted me to have the right amount of insurance.
