The lack of accountability for mistakes made coupled with her lack of response (numerous & repeated phone calls & messages left over a 5 mo period) to legitimate questions I had concerning the status of my taxes, has been beyond frustrating! I came to see Libby in March to prepare my fairly straightforward taxes, but because of mistakes she had made & with no sense of urgency on her part it wasn't until mid August that the State & the IRS received them. During this time I had to constantly stay on top of things & make numerous calls to the tax agencies to find out what was going on, since she wasn't returning my calls or keeping me updated on anything. This totally defeats the purpose of paying for this to be handled. Now instead of receiving a refund I am being told that I owe over 10 times that amount. No time frame was given....no indication that we would be waiting 3 wks and STILL not have our taxes done. Each week one of us called Flo Bookkeeping and checked. Husband got the response of "I don't know" to everything he asked. I called and got told that we would have them done by yesterday (4/8/2019) and they would call us. Yup that's right. No call and they hadn't been touched. I left two msgs yesterday. One asking to be called (no call from them) and the other saying I would pick up our undone taxes at 8am this morning. I got there knocked on the door and said I was there to pick up our uncompleted taxes. The lady asked for a last name and then just handed me an envelope with everything in it. She NEVER asked for ID, nothing to indicate who I was and if I should be taking the taxes documents. So what I got from this experience, don't use Flo Bookkeeping in Ruckersville if you actually want your taxes done on time or at all and they have no concern with safety when it comes to your personal PII data and tax documentation.

This prompted the IRS to contact us and tell us we had mistakes. We had never used a tax preparer and had never been contacted by the IRS! Our mistake. This office closes after tax season, so when you get those letters from the IRS no one is there. Ended up being forwarded to another office who immediately stated the other office did not do our taxes correctly, but they wouldn't charge us to fix them. For $550 I expect them to know where to put basic, normal tax info. Avoid if you can.
