The food by Chef Lorna is excellent, delightful twists on familiar dishes, that make the courses tasty and unique. The appetizers (gravlax, pierogis, and the beet salad) were so good I forgot to take photos! The service is beyond par, Scott and Raul (apologies if I misspelled!) were kind, attentive, and patient, taking care of our 20+ person group efficiently and catering to the mood and flow of the evening. The space is cozy and intimate, perfect for our party size but I can imagine it being a nice place for a dinner date as well. Highly recommended for dinner when you're in Winnipeg!

I work nearby here and came on the last day of burger week, because their burger was being ranked top 5 in all of Canada. I had to see what the hype was about, and sure enough the hype was justified. Their burger was a Whiskey King burger, which included their Whiskey River grilling sauce, cheese, glazed bacon, fried egg, onion rings, and your typical add-ons on a pretzel bun. It came with a cream of mushroom soup. The soup really caught me off guard. It was AMAZING. The mushroom pieces were plentiful and you can tell it was homemade, not canned. The burger looks like a giant tower and I was afraid to cause a mess, but it was delicious! I especially loved their burger and the bun that was used. You wouldn't think a town as small as Bird's Hill would house an amazing restaurant like this, but here we are. Definitely worth a visit if you have a car!

Each dish had character and you can tell that preparation was superb on each one. The ingredients used were nothing short of excellent. The setting and plating reminds me of Published on Main in Vancouver, which is Michelin starred. I'm my opinion, Nola should get a star too. My palette was more pleased here than on Published. Although, they were very good as well. Nola just had that extra umph. Order everything if you can, you won't be disappointed. Can't post all the pics but you're going to have to trust me that everything was great.

We had the "Rae's BBBQ Burger... The Extra B Stands For BBrisket". A juicy 6oz. fresh all beef patty topped with two strips of Rae's signature thick cut maple bacon and a whopping 4oz. of Canadian BBQ beef brisket, smothered in velvety basil horseradish cheese sauce, served on a buttery toasted pretzel bun with grainy Dijon aioli, red onion, tomato, butter leaf lettuce and tangy house made bread and butter pickles. Damn it was gooooood! Messy but SO worth it! Ask for extra napkins cuz you'll need 'em! Shoestring fries lightly salted and crispy! For appetizers we had the Beet Chips tossed in Rosemary sea salt with caramelized onion goat cheese dip and a Chorizo dip made with spinach, artichokes and 3 cheeses served with grilled flat bread! Now can we have a minute to talk about this Chorizo Dip?? TO DIE FOR! Hands down one of the best things I've ever eaten. I want that at my last supper! Order it! I'm telling you it will change your life! ... and how could we leave without having one of their desserts?? We had the Pumpkin Caramel Cheesecake! Pure Bliss on a plate! I was coming home with two friends after a day at Bird's Hill Park, and decided to stop by here so I can try here for the first time. The ambiance here is quite upscale with the lighting inside. I had the seafood linguine, which came with a garlic toast. It was really good, though at a slightly elevated price. I would say for the north half of the city, this is the best upscale cuisine. However, I would rank this below Cafe Carlo and Tre Visi. Not to take away anything from here though, it's still a great place to dine. Service was excellent throughout here.
